Are there any plans for another auto group build? I'd like to see a staring date of June or July. hope this happens

For a number of years've been wanting to do a car carrir with the cars. they are all 1965 Chevrolets. the car carrier trailer and 1 of the impalas are on order now. I'll have a COE cab Probably the Chevy Titan. other ones will be 2 chevelle wagons, one other impala,  a couple of pick ups and a corvair

Hey fellas.  First off, I'm a little behind here but Joe -I hope all is well.  Good luck with all that. It's crazy how life can flip you upside down over night.  I'm sure by now it's all passed but it makes you pause and appreciate every person and every day.

No WIP pics but this is what I've been up to during the hiatus.

AMT USA-1 Monster Truck

I tried my hand at making my own decals. These turned out too thick as I coated the crap out of them.  Next time, finer print text for closer to scale appearance and just a light dusting of the decal spray should do the trick.  This is my hideous store logo and colours-I made this for my business partner's desk.  She hates it and it takes up some serious space.

Monogram "Badman" 55 Chevy gasser

Nothing special to this kit, it went together fairly simple.  Painting yellow is a challenge for me and I've learned that gassers are really great slump busters. Such goofy cars that you can't take them all too seriously.  Goodtimes.

Tamiya BMW Z3 Roadster

This was just completed this past weekend.  I hope all Tamiya kits are this awesome with quality.  I've read others say "it fell together" now I know what they meant -so nice. I tried vallejo gun metal metallic paint with the ab and failed pretty badly at it so I went for a matte look with some dullcote.  Another first for me is the seatbelts and carpetting.

I'm not sure what to build as the official GB2016 kit(s) yet.  I'll have to give that some thought and report back here with it.  Something from the stash, no new kits for 2016-work from the stash. lol  Anyway, I'm glad were back, I look forward to the updates.

See the title has changed to 2015-2016! Good stuff - let's keep it red hot and start rolling! Yes Beer

Big bike race this weekend, then a major trail run over Easter weekend, but I think after this weekend already normality will be returning. Was a bit hectic at the kids school as well with a huge workload increase this year, now in first proper test weeks before quarter ends. Whole house is learning!

Hey Joe, First off I share Tim's sentiment. All the best at home for this tough time.

I am easy either way, whether we separate it or continue on this thread. I'm still busy with the F310B from this thread and hardly started on the F2002...

Let's just start it off like this....

As some of you know I picked this kit up a few months back and was thinking of doing this one in typical "Gasser" fashion with the nose up in the air............

Image

but lately I've had something else in mind..............

Different set of wheels and tires and a more wild stance............... :hmm:

I think I'm gonna move forward with this one............

Glad this is still going fellas. I've been out of it now for a little over a week here. My wife suffered from a stroke last weekend due to a burst brain anuerism and is still in ICU in San Antonio. She underwent an operation Monday that repaired the damage but her recovery will be slow. She'll be in ICU for another 1 to 1-1/2 weeks. Keep posting and I'll keep droppin' in. I may throw my '54 Chevy Panel Wagon build in here as well. Take care and we'll see you at the bench, Joe

Hey Guys!  I'm glad were still using this thread. lol  Everyone's stuff is looking good.

I don't have any WIP pics since I wasn't building for the GB but I finally beat the 76 Gremlin.  It's a bit rough, even for me.  The kit seemed like it was very detailed on one side but not so much on the other.  The interior is horrid.  The engine is kind of wonky too.  It sits real low, so low you don't need the scooped hood for the ram intake.  The other weird thing is how low that low engine forces the headers to sit.  They almost scrape the ground, this wouldn't be a drivable vehicle.

Anyway, pics.  Still trying to get decent at this.

Slide show of a few more crappy cell phone pics - http://s293.photobucket.com/user/elass0wyp0/slideshow/Scale%20Models/AMT%201976%20Gremlin%20X

Thanks for looking,

Gord

Same here - limited time, even more limited through injury and illness. But onwards and upwards, both are healing and so is the building blues!

I've just started with the F2002. I was warned that it's a dog and already found it's not easy to build. Even just the engine block was has gaps and... yes, it's going to be interesting. But also weird to be building a kit again where the engine block on it's own is almost the size of the other model I'm doing! (Well, bigger in size, smaller in lenth. Will take a pic of that once it's starting to look like something.

The F310B front wing is assembled and decals started. I have a dislike in doing the barge boards, but that will have to be done. Painted and ready... I'm just postponing!

Thanks, Joe.  I am trying to find more time for builds, but its been very limited lately.  I'll slowly make progress on this one, but its progress none the less.  Thanks!

Dang Tim! First off, that 66 looks great!! I'm very familiar with these cars and the braking mods you've done so far is a vast improvement from stock. I always hated the factory front suspension and braking systems on those cars. Weak to say the least, particularly in the front suspension area. It was like they stapled a bunch of stuff together to get it to stop and steer and that was about it. Beautiful cars though as I owned 3 different 67's. I've got some old pics I may scan in later.

That's a neat idea you've got going for that Firebird as well. Good to see you around again Tim.

Hello everyone!

Now that storm Jonas has hit and left around 3 feet of snow, I made some time since I couldn't leave the house and sprayed some color.  Gravity Colors Crystal White Pearl and a matte finish.  I wanted something different instead of a glossy finish for this one.  A long ways to go yet, but hopefully this will motivate me to get it finished.  It's really hard to see the pearl until you get up close and in the light, but I wanted something faint and this was exactly what I was looking for.

Gold or chrome bumpers?  Gold, black or chrome trim?

Tim

I've been so busy working on my '66 that model car building had to be put on hold.  Working on the real ones is funner, but costs more. lol

I replaced all of the suspension/bushings and added rear disc brake and cleaned up the front disc brakes.
