Hey guys, not much time for modeling lately for various reasons but I'm hoping to get back to being more active in here. Loving all the builds, it's been a great GB so far!
I got some time alone with the Challenger this weekend. The kit is well designed and goes together really well. The main problem I've been having has been with the paint. I've been clearcoating the body but have some orange peel and dust to sand out, and when I sprayed the chassis this evening I discovered that not all of the mold release agent came off when I washed the parts. I never seem to have much luck with semigloss black for some reason. No pics for now as everything is looking pretty butt-ugly at the moment, but I should have something worth posting soon I hope.
- Steve
Mopar - that rig turned out beautiful!
Building - WAH 64D
I finished my 39 Dodge custom hauler and now have this one on the bench to start making some progress. Not to much so far I've glued the cab sections together and working on cleaning up the glue joints. (It comes in 5 pieces ) still test fitting and working on ideas to add to it. I'm looking at turning the exhaust in to stacks going up right before the bed. I received the tool boxes this is where I'm looking at putting them at.
Joe. Use the fifth picture for the cover page. Thanks
And for my next build I'm calling it L'il Roll Back "C".
This is a build I've been planning for some time now and I've been on a car hauler building run and have one more to add. I'm starting with the old AMT Li'L Gasser and a roll back deck from a guy on eBay. Here's a mock up of what I'm planning. It will have a HEMI and be painted with HEMI Orange. I have not decided on what will be on the deck yet.

I'm calling this one done!
Joe nice progress on the engine.
Keep it comin Dan!!!
Turned the attention back to the motor today. Got the distributor in and the L/H bank of plug wires on...
(these were a pain in the butt to do!!! Normal V-8's I can just drill a hole in the head and have somewhere to put 'em. These? Not a chance!)
Thanks Joe and Misty,
here's a little more on the cab.
Man........................she's a true beauty Dan!!!!
Thanks guy,
Add another coat of clear and more BMF and now have the back, ladder and hand rails glued on.
All you alclad lovers out there........check this out: (taaron guided me to this):

Looks like I'll be switching soon.....................
I'm really starting to get the hang of this whole alclad thing and I'm freekin' loving it!!! I also have the brass rod section in the center of the front wheels to take up the extra "slack". Now I'm waiting on the show next weekend to hopefully obtain some disc brake sets with the caliper and rotor. Dan do you think they will have anything there related to this?
The rear wheels are painted!!! I'm happy!!!!
and the product of all this planning and test fitting...........
Seabe Stop the project and display the car upside down! ;)

LMAO
Almost had too! I had a minor disaster when gluing the rear spoiler assy together. i crushed the top wing and got super glue everywhere i managed to save it but there is still a mark on the underside of the top wing
Misty, that is really looking super! Love the steering wheel and great CF work! Shocks are simply outstanding... but that plank is the best I've seen - EVER! Stop the project and display the car upside down! ;)
Cool. Thanks, Joe. With any luck, I'll have the car here in the next week or so. Plans at this time are for Testors Mystic Emerald and Blazing Black metallic lacquers. Should look sweet. Full fendered, and beautimous.
Your posted in the intro Kevin. Let's go!!! Oh yeah I forgot about the Challenger. wooops!! lol
It's the AMT kit, Joe.
Kevin
Good to see you here Kevin!!!! What's the kit manufacturer and I'll get you in the intro post pal.
Misty: That wood work looks fantastic!!!
I'm in on this, with a '32 Vicky (as soon as I get my hands on one).
Tim - love the gloss on that already.Mopar - that is looking freakin awesomeMustang - great wiring job.
Not a very good pic of the wheel i am afraid but you can just about tell its been CF decaled and wired up on the back....just. the bottom, full cf dcaled and the plank done with tamiya buff/earth and finished with oils. Not sure what this cylinder thingy does, but its included in the upgrade parts so on it goes. Some of the upgrades are of dubious use, some are well worth it. The shocks fall into the latter. A mixture of the stock shock plus upgraded metal cylinder spring and connectors

Thanks Doug. I wished the picture would have turned out a little more clear but I was in a hurry this morning to get ready for work as I had already busted the time limit by 5 minutes and was into the "get ready for work time". I'll probably put a more clear pic on here later.
Damn Joe... looking good!
When Life Hands You A Bucket Of Lemons...
Make Lemonade!
Then Sell It Back At $2 Bucks A Glass...
Thanks Dan. I used the next wire size up insulation cut into sections and slid the wire through the insulation sections.
Joe the distributor wires and boots look very real. What did you use for the boots?
Looks like that BMF laid down nicely for you there Dan!!!
Small update today. Distributor is painted and have all wires and boots installed at the distributor connection except for the coil wire:
Tim - nice paint job and your custom color looks really sharp on the old Chevy
Thanks guys! Just a small update with BMF on the back and a mock up with the L'il mixer on the back.
Thanks Joe! I always try to post an update whenever I make some sort of progress, even if its not much to post.
Color sanded the Chevelle to get some of the dust out today and followed up with one quick base coat, then put it in the dehydrator for about 30 minutes prior to shooting some clear. This one has about 6-7 coats of clear on it, which gives me lots of room to wetsand and buff. It came out pretty good, but hard to show the detail in these pics. The metallic is very subtle, but its there.
