Have to agree there - beaut of a job on that chrome work!

Very slow progress on my side. Some minor bits painted and nothing fitted, added some decals. Ran my first marathon this weekend. Must sssslllleeeeeeeeep...

Wow, amazed to feel my legs reasonably okay, relative to say the 21k trail run we did the weekend before. But man, I'm dog tired a day and two days after the race. Now I know...

Thanks crown, Seabe and Oscar!!!

Oscar: Keep goin' and I'm going to mail you a kit. lol . Good to see you man.

I worked through the drivers door hinge to where the door opens and closes well with little sagging when opening the door. The next obstacle that I had to go through was to make the door stay shut. I've heard of the use of magnets to accomplish this so I started thinking....."How am I going to pull this off and make all this look legit ?". :hmm: I came up with the following: I need a fire extinguisher in the cab anyways so I took out my pocket screwdriver from work and removed the magnet from the top.

Image

I needed a fire extinguisher from another kit so I turned to my AMT 1994 Mark Martin Valvoline kit for that. I cut the top and bottom off just to the inside of each retaining strap so that when this is all glued together it'll look ok.

Image

This will go upright in the L/H rear corner of the cab after being assembled and painted. I had to remove the drivers door trim panel and come up with a metal strip that I could fit inside the door along the rear door jamb area in which to "latch" onto the magnet/ fire extinguisher just inside the cab. I came up with a trim panel retainer and cut a strip off from it and glued it on the inside the door and reinstalled the drivers door trim panel back. This outta do..........

Image

I tested it several times and it works great so now I can press ahead to the completion of this thing hopefully.

Hey Fellas, long time-no see.

I don't have anything new to add but wanted to check in and say that everyone's work is looking amazing.  Keep it up.  I get everyone's updates to my phone so I've been ablr to keep up with out visiting the site.  The new site looks pretty cool.

I should have something to share in a couple days.  The yard work is done and the wind is up so the hobby room is calling.

I love doing these group builds but I'm not sure that I'm able to contribute as much as is required.  I work a lot and get an hour here and a half hour there to play with my plastic cars so my update efforts remain weak.

Ah well, such is life.  I'm still working on the 65 Chevelle wagon and started a big Chevy monster truck.  I thihk I may shelve the truck for a while.  My airbrush broke and I haven't replaced it yet and this big sucker has so much to paint, I'm not feeling brushing it all.  I've been jonsin' to build a plane lately and I have a p51, a hamp zero, and a 109 in the stash.

I need to go back and reread where I last left off, I'm not sure I shared my completed 67 Impala.  I may have something decent to share after all.

Keeper sticky side down boys.

Hey Mustang, thanks.  I will certainly try to contribute more.  I put my laptop into my hobby room so I don't have any more excuses. :)

I snapped a few pics as I ran out the door this AM so I would have something to share.

I started this kit to do as a rainy weekend mid-summers slump buster but it got shelved when the weather man lied.  Anyway, the goal wasn't to make something super detailed I just wanted to bang something out quick and after looking this kit over and noting it's less than stellar detail I figured it might make the perfect candidate.

I should mention this was started in the summer and then stalled.

AMT 65 Chevelle SUPERWAGON lol

I was planning on tinting the windows again in an effort to bum-rush through the kit so that's why the interior is lacking detail.

I believe I did share this way back when but haven't actually checked to see. 1966 Chevy Impala SS.

**EDIT-Sorry for teh long link, the editor isn't allowing me to create a link.  That'll work tho.

Oh hey, no preview my post option-this might be messy.

The '56 Chrysler 300B would have been completed two months ago, but I snapped two front windshields.  Needless to say, I decided to make it a split window and just finish it up.  Hopefully I can find another windshield and replace it...

On another note, I did pick up this '66 about a month ago.  I guess I gotta build a replica.  Big Smile

Oh wow. Both cars are beautiful.

Slightly off topic but I'd love to see your photo set up or get some tips. Your pictures are always so clean and sharp.

Well done on both the car and pics. The custom split window looks awesome too.

I got one side of BMF complete. It's missing the firewall too, I knocked it off wedging the interior in.

I should have this completed this weekend.  A few more bits and a clear coat and she's done.  Thanks for lookin'.

Not taking anything from anyone - but Time, that's a beaut!

The Williams is nearing completion and has been getting all the attention. Only rear cowl, wheels, screen and mirrors to go on. Yes, there's a boo-boo... easily spottable on the pics. Angry But it'll be covered up most of the times anyways...

Will aim to complete this over the weenend, then more attention to the F310B. And already have a replacement in mind.... I trust we're rolling onto another GB in 2016? This was the best auto GB I've been involved in yet!

EDIT: Okay, seems this forums changes every now and then as whow I can upload images - ow trying photobcket again! Tell me if it's still not visible...

Your pics didn't show up Seabe.  Just shows a grey minus symbol for me.

I wanna see that boo-boo :)

Aah, the joy a boo-boo brings! ;)

I have now gone back to using photobucket again and it seems to work. These forums keep changing what can be uploaded and what now - these pics were uploaded exactly the same way as my previous batch. The mind boggles.

While I'm talking - wheels are on the rims and have been roughed up. Hoping to still get decal on the rims before heading out with some mates for a trail run.

Soooo at last another one done. I got the paper placement a bit wrong in the side-on pic, sorry about that. Only noticed it later... But here's the completion pics on the FW11B.

Side on:

At an angle.

Still progressing with the F310B, slowly but surely. Had to "disassemble" some sections, in the process breaking off the OTHER mirror as well. Hint: Never follow instructions blindly! There was just no way to insert the engine as was. I had to take everything off, the put in engine base first, THEN the sidepods, then the front of the body. (Then the mirror!)

Pretty unsure what will follow. I am leaning towards maiming a MM kit. But alongside that and the F310B I need some plastic to just be able to do something quicker. So I miiiight start on the 12th scale F2002 with the SMS detail kit. (And then make up my mind later which MM kit is going to be victimised.)

First off let me say that I hope everyone who celebrated the Thanksgiving weekend had one of enjoyement and plenty to eat. My brother , his wife and kids came down for 3 days and it was just memorable. I had little time for the computer except for an occassional peek in here and there and a few postings but we're back in the saddle now.

Gord: I saw alot of your pics with the power wagon and don't know where they went but looks like you might be having some issues with PB on that. I'm lookin' forward to a second look as what I saw looked good.

Tim: That 300 finished up nicely despite the issues with the windshield. Thanks for the input on the gloss coats. Between that and the Yost video I've made leaps and bounds in my gloss finishes. That's a nice Mustang you've acquired. I had 4 in total. 3 67's and 1 '89. All were as much a blast to drive as the one I'm looking at of yours. Good stuff man.Yes

Seabe: Do I ever hear you about the outside rearview mirrors! Looks like you overcame that and turned out a spectacular lookin' car. Let me know which one you'd like to see i the intro post and I'll make sure to get it there.

As far as my progress goes I haven't messed with mine a whole lot over the weekend and although it doesn't appear that mine has all that far to go I can assure you that there's more than meets the eye. Hopefully I'll have 'er finished up next month. lol

Mustang, you can use the bottom one, please. (The side-on one does not look nice with the table in the corners.) Glad to have at least finished another this year. Hopefully I can carry some momentum next year - went through a bit of a lull at a stage.

Thanks Mustang.  I guess I changed the folder title when I was uploading new images and cleaning the folder up.  Note to self: Don't change the folder names on photobucket once sharing has begun. :)  Thanks for the heads up.

Speaking of new images being uploaded...the complete (as far as I'm concerned) AMT '65 Chevelle Superwagon.  Not a super awesome kit.

Photobucket slideshow - http://s293.photobucket.com/user/elass0wyp0/slideshow/Scale%20Models/AMT%2065%20Chevelle%20Superwagon

So she's done.  I could have made a better weekender/rainy day choice, the moldlines were pretty messy and the detail is quite low but with more time and skill I would imagine someone could do a nice job of her.  My old chinese airbrush busted half way through as well, that's why she stayed white.

I really like the grill, I think that turned out pretty good.  The rest, well.  Whatever, it's done.  Moving on...

Thanks for looking fellas,

Gord

I really like the idea of a station wagon because it's something different/ out of the ordinary. PM headed you way....

OK Mustang,

I'm going to start the 67 Shelby GT 350 for my other son-in-law for Christmas. I should have the time to finish it.
So here it is. It will be in metallic red. I'm not the best with cars so we'll see.

Ha Ha thanks Mustang.

Well I have the underside in process and will start on the body tomorrow. My son-in-law doesn’t want me to show the engine. His loss, I was going to super detail it. Anyway I did install the block, oil pan and transmission in case you could see it from underneath. I still want to add some pastels to the under side.

Since most of my experience is in flat or semi flat camo schemes and weathered exteriors, I'm hoping I can pull off this high gloss metallic red body.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

Give me an hour or so and I'll put something together for you. First though, make sure you have washed the body super clean.

Man, you guys have cranked out some really super killer builds here.  I had good intentions but the time was just not there for me this year.  I dont think I have been at the workbench since last march.    Congrats to all you guys on these super builds and to you mustang, for hosting a really great GB!  I have tuned in at times to see what was going on eventhough I couldnt be part of it. Great job all of you and Mustang, if you do this again, maybe I will have time to take part, I really hate missing this one.  Super Job, all of you!

Nothing ever fits……..and when it does, its the wrong scale.

To make mistakes is human.  To blame it on someone else shows management potential.

Said it before - this was the best and active auto GB I've ever been part of! Whilst I may not be the biggest one on the pitchas, I really enjoyed following and being part of it.

I'm game for another round!

That said - I must get myself into gear and add this badge...
