Not my area of expertise so I just looked that on up, and yep, looks good to me. I found they were used in Korea, where these actually used in WW2, or did they come just after. let me know which kit and I will add it to the roster.

I am tempted to make a comment about the scale, but I will resist. Big Smile

I'm in with a 1/72 M-26 Pershing.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

1946 What If GB

This is the offical build thread for the 5th and final GB in the series of GB's commemorating 70 years since WW2. As many will know, the previous GB's centred on a certain year and your builds had to come from that year. But this year will be a little differant.

This year, we will enter the What iF scenario that WW2 carried on into 1946 AND stay in the real 1946 as it happened just like the previous GB's . So, to take part, your build should fit into one of four groups.

1) Anything that was in service at the end of the war and could in theory have still been in use a year later. But it should have some sort of What If element to it. A B-29 in 8th AAF markings or a late war German fighter in a new scheme. If somthing went on to serve after WW2, including into the Korean war, it could look as it did then, such as ships with up grades.

2) Designs that were cancelled before the war eneed as long as they got no further than a prototype. This could include variants of types that did enter service.

3) Designs that were in prgress when the war ended, wehther they went onto enter service or not. Again, none production variants of types that did enter service can be included.

If your not sure if it could be included, please ask and i will do my best to include it. But try and keep it realistic. This would not count.

4) Builds from the histrorical 1946 as they looked in that year. This could be military or civilian subjects. Could be from the Allied occupations of Germany or Japan. The Bell X-1 which first flew in this year. The first V-2 launched from White sands. The Prince Eugun as it looked when used in Atomic bombs testing or perhaps a civilian car from the growing car industries.

Now the rules. There alwasy has to be rules.

1) GB starts on 1st Jan 2016, no starting your builds until then, but partially started kits of no more than 10% are ok. GB runs for the duration of 2016.

2) Any scale, land sea or air.

3) OOB or throw as much AM or scratch at it as you wish.

4) No crossovers please. But do consider putting your build in a WiP thread in the relevant section.

5) GB badge to be hosted on completion of 1st build. And you can enter as many as you think you can complete in a year.

Now the badge. Previous badges have featured an American aircraft. But this year, as the 1946 What If genre is more associated with Luft 46, i am useing one of those aircaft.

If anyone want to enter a second badge i am open to ideas.

And thats all there is to it. Any questions, please ask.

Now, jump on board and have some fun.

And if anyone has any links with useful information for the group, please pass tham on. This was provided by GAF and has some nice possable aircraft.

The Luft 46 site deals with possable German aircraft and has a list of possable kits.
