Hey Terry, that sounds really cool. You've got my interest piqued with the 'few other things that will be completely off the wall'
"I dream in fire but work in clay." -Arthur Machen
I finally have an update on the Raiden. She is closed up and I am working on my Nav light mod.
Using the kit raised details I scribed and then removed the wing corner where the light is supposed to be painted. Making sure they are equal in size and are square I drill a hole in the rear of the cut and paint the hole red and blue. Once the paint is dry you can remove the excess paint and you are left with just a "bulb".
The hardest part is getting the sprue sanded to a 90 deg edge so you can CA them in place. Once they are mounted, let them dry a day or two and then sand them to fit the profile of the wing. When this is done you will have the correct clear lenz and bulb look. It's a pretty easy mod and worth the time to do.

It looks great! Very clean and crisp build. Really like how you set the nav lights. Looking forward to the finish product.

got my JGSDF MCV finished. Tamiya colors with silly putty masking and a raw umber pin wash. going to keep this one clean since the AUTOBLINDA 43 was filthy.
since i seem to be back into modern wheeled armor i have the 1/35 JGSDF TYPE 87 6x6 rcn vehicle with some am PE i may break out. i need a break from OTS stuff.

Wonderful job Sir! great job on the build with a awesome camo paint job. Job very well done sir!
BK: She's coming along great! I keep meaning to try doing wingtip lights like that but somehow never seem to get around to it.
Wayne: Very cool, great job and I love the camo! I'll get you posted asap. Lemme know if you want to go with the Type 87.
PS: Wayne, just posted you!
put me down for the rcn vehicle
Got some cockpit detail done on the Tony
@BrandonK,
Nice start on the Raiden. Is that the 1/48 Tamiya kit?
@waynec,
The MCV looks great! I really like the camo pattern and the subtle weathering. Great job!
@jugjunkie,
Nice start on the Tony. Which kit is this?

A quick update on my Chi-Nu. Most of the build including sub-assemblies, base paint and wheels are done. I'me moving onto the weathering and a final topcoat. I also mentioned that the Chi-Nu will play a roll in a diorama i'm working on but will take till the end of the GB to finish but i'll present the tank when its finished. The dio will be a little big with a couple twists if I can pull it off.
Note: I just set in a 1/35 figure for scale. More to come, Terry

between Bish with his bases and you with your dioramas i am defintely uping my presentation skills. i like the green color, what is it? i also do the wood and bare metal on the tools even though we painted them the same as the vehicle. adds a bit of color. one thing i do wuth the metal is wash it with black or scrub it with black pastel to tone down the shininess.
completely out of character but i actually starte the JGSDF rcn vehicle 30 minutes after posting. working on suspension now. have the LionRoar PE since it was inexpensive so that may be something i add. i usually don't do AM on armor. after doing OTS i forgot how big the wheels are, which is why i am doing it. the tires are plastic which some folks really hate but doesn't bother me. sand down the seamsand prime, paint, weather. easy peasy.
should have suspension fone this week between classes and practicing my HISTORY OF THE USSR in 20 minutes presentation. basically talk fast and cover WW2 in 20 seconds.
Sorry for the asence guys.
So much great updates here since my last visit
Excellent works !!!! specially the little claude better that my fujimi 1/72

Wow, I'm falling behind here guys...
Wayne: Looks cool, nice to see you started on her. Most Trumpeter kits I've built seem to fit pretty well, and without all those independent track links she should go together without too much fuss.
Terry: Looks good to me, I see you had the sense to leave the headlights off while painting. Wonder how I found out how easy it is to knock them off and send them flying??? And very cool jungle hut, looking forward to seeing what you do with them.
Bsyamato: Good to have you back, the Rufe looks really good, and the Peggy is coming right along!
Bruce - It's the Hasegawa kit. Some photos with the pilot in and out of the cockpit. Not sure if it's best with him in hiding a lot of detail, or out showing the detail but maybe loosing some "life"
I normally leave pilots out but you've done such a good job there I'd be tempted to leave him in there too JJ. Great job on the cockpit, I was going to comment before but there were so many posts there somehow I left you out- sorry
Thanks Gamera, The pilot has now been strapped-in and sealed.
Your pilot looks fantastic belted in JJ, just a little disturbing without his head though.
Steve
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

i doon't care about PC. THAT IS FUNNY!!!
LOL guys, thanks for the first laugh of the day, I needed that!
I'm truly sorry for falling off the forums once again. I finally got a full time job up the 95 corridor from where I live. Not a long commute compared to many, but I'm used to 25 hour/week retail jobs with 15 minute drives so I haven't fully adjusted yet.
I'm trying to make an effort to peruse the forums more often though and in time get back to the bench! Keep on up with the fantastic builds so far everyone!
-Josiah
Hello guys, great looking stuff - both completed and those ongoing at the bench.
Cliff, can you take a look at your message box. Something been waiting in there for you for a few days now.
regards,
Jack
Joshiah: Don't mention it. I know what you mean. I haven't gotten much done here and I don't even have an excuse. Hope you're able to make the adjustment and get settled into your new job soon.
Jack: Thanks a zillion!
Ok, FINALLY I've got you guys a badge!!!
Sorry, I asked a friend about doing it first of the year, he never got around to doing it. So I asked another friend, Rock Baker to do the artwork which I think turned out fantastic, not sure why I didn't ask him in the first place. And Jgeratic was kind enough to jump in and help with the colouring and the title. I can't thank you guys enough!
BTW, Jack did two different fonts, I'm just going to post both and let you guys choose which you'd rather go with:
They look really cool Gamera , i likey too much ! Thanks
The Original Mike Oscar Juliet Oscar Outcast !
End Transmission-Semper Fi !
Glad you like it, though frankly only Godzilla and the Zero were my idea, Rock and Jack did all the heavy lifting.
I'm suprised you didn't go with Gamera
Lol Steve, I did think about it but figured Godzilla was more iconic...
