Wow she looks great PJ. I use a lot of the Eduard seatbelts but I've never got them to drape anywhere near as well as yours. Looking forward to your unusual paint scheme.

Oh I love both of them, I just need to slow down and pay more attention Bang Head

Actually I took this photo on vacation last week at a museum of parade floats and was wondering if I could make it an avatar or it would be too small to see the P-51.

LOL Gamera, I suspected our Avatars threw you off. I just love Eagles. they are so majestic and awesome looking. I saw them fishing when the wife and I took an Alaskan cruise and it's a sight to see.

Thanks Steve. This Tamiya Seiran is a pretty kool kit and just goes together like a glove.

I have seen the Mariner in HL and thought about getting one and wondered about the details but it seems to be a very nice kit as I can see from your build. And of course your water effects will make it that much better.

PJ,

The detail is outstanding. I am very impressed with the kit. If you can find it HL with a 40% off coupon, you wouldn't be sorry.

LOL don't worry GAM I've had to stop and do the same lol. Yes, Eagles are a sight to see in flight. When I was still living at mom and dads in Arkansas, one early winter's day watched one soaring probably 100 feet up not far away heading south, as I was watching it, it dipped a wing and turned into a fairly strong thermal and just silently circled. Didn't realise how high and smaller it was getting till it straightened out and dissapeared over the 1500 foot mountain that was to the south of us. The most amazing thing to me was, that from the time my brother and I saw it till it dissappeared over the mountain, it didn't flap once. That is true airmanship lol.

Ok, back on the subject lol. I retrieved my E7K today and this is how I left it since the last small stint of construction. Tamiya rattle can gray primer, struts mostly painted When I had her on the bench last time, I did a trial fit of the float struts and to the floats. Think it's going to take little finesse to get the struts to fit the floats right. Hopefully not too much work.

I think we have some eagles off the coast but I've never seen one in real life. We used to have a hawk at work until the crows ran him off. I can imagine how majestic an eagle in flight would look.

SP34: that does look really good. Good luck with getting all those struts and spars straight.

I have Eagles nesting by the St Johns River not far here in Central Florida. Once in s while one wanders over my hood.

We also have a pair of large Hawks that nest in the tree line near my house. They both frequent my backyard looking for meal, specially early in the morning.

Thanks Gam, but the strut allignment to me wont be that much of an issue when you consider that I'm also going to fully rig it.Whistling

Oh wow, I've only rigged one plane so far and it was pretty simple. Lotta work but the results look fantastic!

Exactly! To me, you can't build a biplane and not rig it, just does not look right at all. Built a 1/72 Swordfish back in 2008 and someone asked if I was going to rig it, I said of course I am, can't have a stringbag without the strings can ya? Propeller

Aaaand she's done.  Quite pleased at my pace these days.  Normally it takes me a couple of months to finish even a simple build.  More than anything, Im quite pleased to have started a kit a couple of weeks after I bought it and finished it weeks later.  Havent done that in ages.

So here she is, the JS Haruna.

Wow, she looks great Allan, God only knows I'd have found some way to screw up all that masking and PE- don't know how you ship modelers do it. You just need a blue mat to set her on!

Edit: Just posted you the front page. Yes

Allan, that is one sweet looking ship build.  Yes

Your treatment of the finer details and finish give the impression of a much larger scale.  Again, congrats on this extremely well done example of the Haruna.

Jack

Thank you gents for your kind words!  And thank you Gamera for the post.  :)

The Haruna actually got me in the mood to start my other JMSDF ships in the stash. Maybe after I finish the 14 year old hangar queen on my bench...  lol

Finally got some time at the bench and finished this one up. The base is made out of sprue that I bent and painted to hold it.
