Tamiya's 1/32 offerings are very impressive.

My Zero got here from HobbyLink Japan! I pulled open the box and whoa, one incredible kit, the instruction manual is over thirty pages! Not sure when I'll get moving on her, I'm hoping to get some other GB stuff finished first. 

I hadn't seen the two-seat trainer Zero before and it seems sorta rare so I went ahead and ordered it too. No idea when I'll get to it. 

JayW: I went ahead and put you down as TBA, both of those along with Perth are very cool, I'd love to see either of them come together.

Brian: I've used Celluclay for groundwork before but I didn't know it made such fantastic looking water! And nice work on Maya too, very sleek looking cruiser. 

The water is made with a product I got from Michaels called celluclay. Mix with  water and smear it up to the ship, which I have already glued, like peanut butter with a kitchen knife, don't tell the wife. Then I just brush paint everything. A mix of blue and green for the water and white for the wake. Lastly I use my finger to put some acrylic gel medium for the shine. It's so easy and it looks ok too. 

Really looking good Brian. I love your wake, what did you use?

I've done two others so please put me in this one with a 1/72 Hasegawa Jake.

Oh what the heck, I'll jump in. Haven't decided if I'm doing the i15/46 or i9/Ro35 or even both sets. Bought them as a set when I ordered the HMAS Perth Which finally came in the mail today. 

I hate to laugh, but, I know my wife has a sensitive nose! Maybe I use the neighbors garage! lol

I got it from Hobby Lobby. It's "Castin Craft Clear Polyester Resin" with the hardener.

I tried the "Amazing Putty Casting Resin" for one of the levels because HL was out of stock of the Castin Craft, but hated it. It comes on two equal parts so you can't control the hardening time. In fact, there are still some areas that are tacky and I'm not sure when/if they will harden. I suppose eventually it will, but I want to try to sell the build or give it to the museum and don’t know how long I'll have to wait.

It looked good before but the whitecaps make it look even better!

Hey Steve, hopefully they'll have some more soon. Guess it does give everything a good long chance to totally and completly dry and set up. 

BTW: Got an email from HLJ last night, my big Zero is on it's way! Hurray for late Christmas presents! 

I haven't progressed on the Rufe much, HL is out of the resin and I'm waiting for them to restock.

Thanks Gamera, it's been a tough one, but I'll get it done.  I also got the cockpit done on the Ki-100.  I'll post pictures when I can.

Hey Freddie, despite the issues you've had she's coming along fine now! 

Here's a few pictures of how this build is progressing.  I finally managed to figure out the landing gear issues and currently to model is sitting in the rack, drying. 

I have the engines, cowlings and seams finally finished.  I sealed up the oblique gun ports on top of the fuselage, as this aircraft I am modeling did not carry them.  

Things are looking good to maybe get paint on her this weekend.  I will just need to get some masking done, and I'm ready to go.  Thank you for looking at my post, and I'll be posting more with the wheel wells and the landing gear attached....

Yes, I brushed it on the prop with good results.

Brian: Glad to see you got the photo posting issue cleared up there, it used to easier till they changed the forum about five or so years ago. 

Love how she's coming so far and neat look on the 'ocean', the wake looks perfect.
