I think he looks great Terry! The eyes, teeth and tong especially. They look real.
I ran some screws through the base into the feet of the Trike to help with the base. My grandson is 8 so hopefully he will take it easy.

He looks terrific Terry!!! I love the different shades you used on the sail.

Since many reptiles have shiny scales I suppose you could spray him with a little semi-gloss maybe? Anyway good gosh I'd loved to have something this cool back when I was three!!!

very cool Terry.

as usual i am all over the place. new interest du jour is French armor and armored cars. started building a camel, yes a Heller camel with arab and foreign legion soldier. very Beau Geste. They will match up nicely with a Panard 178 4x4 or RBR-11 8x8.

Oviraptor from the Mesozoic 6 pack. primed in gray and layered brush colors using COMART transparent, opaque and creature paint set plus some oil paint. i thought knowing when enough is enough is difficult with washes and weathering but there is a whole new level. paint colors include green, purple, raw sienna, yellow, red, burnt umber. he actually looks better than the photos.

That's going to be great Hunter. Maybe you’re T-rex and my Trike can meet up somewhere in Montana's majestic badlands.

Hey Hunter, welcome!

Wayne: Looks really cool! I set aside my Tamiya T-rex because I couldn't get the paint to look the way I wanted- I really like the translucent layered look you've got there.

Well, I couldn't decide on what colour to paint my Albertosaur and then from somewhere it hit me- try olive drab....

Anyway I tried it on a small (4 inch long/ 10 mm) Carnotaurus I painted for a friend's Dungeons and Dragons game. Sorta like how the OD green came out. You guys think it looks ok?

Makes sense...if I was a predator, I'd sure want to be suited up in olive drab Eats

They have an interesting first person shooter video game called "Dino D-Day", which is basically WWII and dinosaurs combined. I don't personally like the gameplay, but it's a neat idea.

Lol, I think I may have seen that. Too bad my reflexes suck or might give it a try.

Yeah, I always pretend I'm good at video games, and then it's a painful reality check later on. That's actually what I didn't like about Dino D-Day's gameplay, it was too fast paced to the point if sacrificing fun. It's very fast-paced and arcade-like as far as tactics, but then you don't get arcade-like health. You basically run around like a caffeinated chipmunk for ten seconds before being KOed.

Sorry for pulling the thread so far off topic!

Anyone still alive in here?!?

FINALLY got the paint on the ol' Albertosaur where I wanted. He's a little glossy, I'm going to hit him with a sludge wash and see if that picks out the detail.

Gam, I got ya my man.

Wayne is very busy and I have'nt seen Terry post in quite a while.

Albert is looking good. A wash should draw out the detail nicely.

so much for having plenty of time in retirement. start 11 hour days as an election judge but after 08NOV it should be model building catch up thru the end of the year including dinos.

i know i used a lot of oil washes and some COMART paints. they can create some nice effects, lots of light coats of different colors.

i like the stripes on albert

Hey thanks guys.

Good to hear from you again Wayne. I was wondering if you'd left us! Good luck with the election judge position, I think I'd rather stick my right arm into a wood chipper! Wink

I'm still not sure if Albertosaur is a boy dino or a girl dino. I've been calling it Big Al sometimes and Allie sometimes...

Wayne,

I have not forgotten about this GB. I'm hoping to have the Spinosaurus painted by this weekend, then I need to finish painting the fish. I should have it complete before the deadline, and get pictures posted.

Yeah, trying to get it finished before Christmas for my daughter.

I'm looking forward to seeing your Albertosaurus finished. Have you figured out if it's a boy or girl yet? lol!

Gentleman,

I finally finished the Spinosaurus!

I really liked this kit, but, I did find that I missed a lot of seems. This was my first vinyl kit, and I used acrylic, enamel and lacquer paints on this kit. I didn't do a very good job with the ground cover, I may go back and redo some later on.

Wayne, I apologize for taking so long. Thank you very much for running this GB. It was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot while building this kit.

The pictures:

And the boss is happy!

Thank you for looking, I hope you enjoyed!

Thanks again Wayne for running this GB!

Comments and critiques are welcome!

HF

very cool. i like the fish and the red on the dino. i suspect, like red usually is, it is more prominent in photos than in person. both are different from Jibbers which just adds to the GB.

GAMERA

Alli turned out nicely. my new dog ahas an dino playtoy called Alli,

i am thinking of extending this thru 2017 but i may be the only one with 8 primed in the paint cue.

Thanks to all who partticipated. expect to see some of mine in "weird" dioramas.

Great job there Bruce, love the Spino, fish, the whole thing!!!

I finished my Albertosaur last week and finally got the base done up yesterday evening and the photos taken this afternoon. And then ended up fighting the FSM website and PB for the last couple hours to get anything posted.... Angry Honest to gosh neither of the browsers I use would post and I finally loaded up Windows Exploder, which is halfway working for posting...

Thanks Wayne, you're welcome to it. Really looking forward to this dio!!!!!

BTW: Need to go back and lighten a couple of those photos still. Photobucket was giving me fits and I had to walk away from it.
