Eee's not dead yet !
I think there's a few of us stragglers still modeling in 2016.
I don't think this one will make it across the finish line before Dec 31st, But here's an update.
The main body is done. Painted, decaled, dullcoated. The only things left are some clear parts, a few antennae, and some pastel chalk weathering.
It's been a pleasure building with you all and seeing your inspiring craftsmanship.
Happy Holidays to all.
Chris
Holy smoke I fogot this GB is ending on Dec 31.
Chris you're almost there.
Steve
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

You're not the only one. Didn't realize it had been since July that I touched the gun truck. Checked the calendar and found this was ending soon. Cleared out the failed weekend gb Bearcat so I could hopefully get this one finished. Here's where we were back in July.
Started up on her again last night. Painted and installed the headlights. In it's wisdom, Dragon used solid grey plastic for the headlamps, rather than mold them in clear. White usually looks better than silver for the lenses, but not sure in this case.
Will have to check the paint locker, but it looks like a trip to the lhs for some clear red and orange from Tamiya.
The first part of the hillbilly armor installed. A little dark for my liking, maybe a pin filter is in order to lighten it. Hopefully I can get this, and Old Crow done by the new year.
Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.
I think the white looks pretty good.
how did you keep the steering wheels on? i did one of these with my first freehand camo and multi color oil washes. took a first at regionals. one reason is i had a base which had a sneaky little post holding the steering in place.
Никто не Забыт (No one is Forgotten)Ничто не Забыто (Nothing is Forgotten)
MANY THANKS TO STEVE AND ALL OF YOU FOR KEEPING THIS GOING. it has been a crazy new kind of weird busy 6 months and obviously i have fallen waaaaayyyy behind.
i am looking forward to 2017. first class is done and woking on 8 weekTHE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR to start in march. health issues, nothing major, are resolved. so in a new spirit of opyimism and buying more stuff i will never build here is my finished ARIETE. did an oil filter and pin wash but for some reason on this one the oil never really dried and stayed shiny. given it is in the 30s i decided to dull it with homemade pastel dusting.
MC i would send you a message but the forum web page has the top half blocked by the pulldowns and i cannot get to messages or add a new topic to forums. has anyone else had this problem?
Wayne, your Ariete looks great! I think it turned out better than mine. I do look forward to starting the Braile Scale Group Build next year. Make sure you post a link to it here so I can find it.
Also, I'm working on five small scale vehicle models right now that will take my count of completed small scale vehicles to a total of 700 done. I hope to have all five finished by the second week in January at the latest. If I can finish them before the New Year, I'll be well and truly stoked!
Looking forward to seeing next year's Braille Scale Group Build!
Wayne, I had that problem and had to log out, remove the cookies and re-log in. The problem was on my laptop, desktop and phone. I had to do this to all my devices, but the phone took a few tries.
Looked like this
Seems to work great now.
Wayne,
Not quite sure what you are asking.
I could never get the steering wheels to stay attached to the connectors in the rear, even with CYA. So I faked it with a base and a hidden pin holding up the tang at the connection point.
I don't recall any problems mounting the wheels. I've used Testor's orange tube glue and MEK on this build. I probably used the Testors to attach the wheels.
Hi everyone,
First of all, there have been some great builds on here, modelcrazy, that submarine was very impressive! Sorry for the lack of photos during my build. Progress was slow enough that it never seemed like there was anything worth reporting on then it was in paint.
Here is the dragon wagon after the first layer of olive drab over most of it. A few areas are still going to need some touching up. This was built OOB except for one part which I lost and had to replace with styrene. I also opened up the slots on cab windows and doors.
And here is a picture of the cab on wheels, which as you can see I still need to finish painting.
I also need to finish up all the little details parts. Unfortunately I will be away on holidays until in the new year so I won't be able to finish by the deadline. I will post photos once it is finished.
Also, Waynec it looks like the front page hasn't been updated to reflect my changed build. I'm building an Academy M25 Dragon Wagon.
Thanks,
Dan
Hey Dan, thanks for the kind words about the sub.
Don't worry too much about completing your build, I'm behind on a few GB's as well.
Had some time off work between Christmas and New Year's day - so I was able to finish off a little more than I thought - Including the Havoc.
I have mixed feelings about this kit - or rather - my job on this kit. I learned some things and did some things right. But I also kindof got a little tired of it and took some shortcuts just to finish it off. Here she is . . .
Well Chris, nice finish just in time. It looks good to me.
Chris very nice. i may have to do an OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE build and one of these is on the shory list, either a desert scheme of a fire tanker.
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED AND KEPT THIS GOING AND MC FOR CO-HOSTING things are going to get a tad hectic between now and NATs with builds for that a regional and teaching. i will probably start another one after NATs and a holiday to Louisiana.
Didn't get her finished in time, but she is finished. Thanks Wayne and everyone involved for running this build.
Hey all!
Is there to be a 2017 version of this build? I have been away and I am trying to get back to the workbench.
*******
On my workbench now:
It's all about classic cars now!
Why can't I find the "Any" key on my keyboard?
Hey Lew,
Just got back to this GB to check out if anything happened after the new year.
Nice Hummer !
jimbot58 Hey all! Is there to be a 2017 version of this build? I have been away and I am trying to get back to the workbench.
I've been wondering this myself. I've got a few things I can add to a new Group Build. Any word on the new one?
Being that I'm mostly building 1/72 anymore I have several I could enter as well.
hi all i am willing to host another OTS GB despite faltering toward the end last year due to a combination of things. i have some MODEL COLLECT and AOSHIMA (yes they share stuff. THE PATRIOT launcher trailer for the JGSDF and the HEMMT is identical). i need to knock a bunch out for region 10 and Nats. looks like me and 3 other folks i know of and there are always more. let me know and i will set one up this weekend. i need to get back on the forum and building so class prep for the fall does not consume me (8 weeks/16 hours the Eastern Front)
Sure, sounds good Wayne. Anytime, I have many I could enter.
Wayne, I'm in as well. I've been working on a Modelcollect T-14 Armata, a Roden FWD 3-ton ammo carrier, a UM Sherman with mineroller, a Russian GAZ Fuel Truck from Military Wheels and the whole USAAF re-supply set from Airfix. I still have five other armor models behind them to start once they are done. So, get this started and then post the link here so I can find it. Thanks.
Thanks Bossman!
Wayne, I'd be down for another go.
Oh yes definately!! Howdy all!! still kicking just have neglected my puter for quite sometime for the PS4, lol bloody addicting games they put out now lol. Got project languishing in boxes but currently working on Academy 1/72 (what else?) FW-190A-8 and probably 80% done. Need a GB to keep the m-o-j-o going!!!
