Terry, really nice looking dio there, love the base, great work all round.

Do you use the same molds for 1/35th scenes.

Thanks. I want to start adding more detail to my dio bases and was thinking about useing the Woodland rock molds and pigments. They certainly look the part.

That's what i use too. expect to have some pieces break coming out od the mold. i have a whole container of scree like that which works well for smaller rocks or smaller scales. the WOODLAND SCENES paints can be as transparent or opaque as you want and blending different colors is easy. i think they work best when starting with a white surface which thew Hydrocal is and it will absorb some of the paint which adds to the effect.

i haven't tried anything as elaborate as Terry has.

Thanks wayne. I have been looking at some of their video's and the paint does look very nice. I already have some of there Talus and plan on trying the paint on that for my 251 dio. But i definatly wnat to add some larger rocks to scenes at a later date.

They have the best scenic paint i've found and in the right colors.

This week I managed to get back to my build for this Group Build.

The Gigant was finally painted inside and then the windows added to the cab sides and windscreen. Then I assembled everything together:





After this, I masked off the windows in preparation for painting. Speaking of painting, I shot a coat of grey over the lower part of the Mitrailleurwagen:





It was challenging, but I managed to get paint into all the little nooks and crannies without glopping up a whole mess of paint all over. This looks pretty darn good! Now all I have to do is finish some detail parts on the upper part of the trailer before I can paint it.

DUKE Thank you. took 2 coats to get all the nooks on the underside suspension of the MCV. got side skirts on S-tank but sniffed too much CYA and am feeling it today. think i will knock out my OTS STV-103C. have both as STV-103B.

trucks are interesting with cab interiors and lots of windows. and i have 35 of them in the stash.

BISH i have to look but i think a friend of mine borrowed one of my molds and cast rocks using resin. he used it whenever he had leftover resin from other castings.

Duke, nice work there. I like the look of the Gigant, i have that one in the stash and not long done a Kora resin one, its surprising how big those trucks are.

wayne, thanks, would be handy to know that. I really need to need into resin casting to make my own parts, have been putting it off. But will be a handy use for any left overs.

Wayne, I'm looking forward to seeing your two S-tanks. I built their -B and -C some years ago.

Duke thats a lot of building for a 1/72, looks great. One question, have you ever used that masking liquid for clear parts? I dont build aircraft so theres little need for it but I was just wondering.

I painted the B-47 with Alclad gloss black. It goes on well but the build is so big I had to paint it in two sections.

Gents....wicked builds thus far! I am able to, now, join this GB with my Beaufighter after a long haul on a Wingnut Wings project I've been slowly working on for the past 15 months...anyway, got it done finally (BUILD BIG GB). Anyway, again, great work happening over here at OTS and I've got the first step of my project on the go and will post pics after some paint.

got my JGSDF MCV finished. Tamiya colors with silly putty masking and a raw umber pin wash/ going to keep this one clean since the AUTOBLINDA 43 was filthy. decals for Dragon ATOMIC CANNON  bumbers went south so decided to paint entire bumper yellow. artistic license. only taking 5 coats of yellow to cover. quite annoying. will add some decals to tractors and oil wash ane street crud weather. cannon is washed and looks ok.

I finally will get started on my Airfix BF 110. Will be out the box ,nothing special.

It is a nice hot day so I shot some RLM 02 ti the inside of the cokpit and undercart bay. Looking at the instructions this is a reallt simple little model, internal detail is minimal but with no way to show the canopy open I guess it doesn't really matter then.

Got the interior done on the Beaufighter. Not really much to show as it has a sparse interior. They did, however, do a decent job on the cockpit, providing pilot controls on either side of the fuselage interior. Extremely tiny gunner canopy, so, nothing will be seen of that interior, so, I guess that's why Airfix kept it simple.

They did a fantastic job engineering the engines for this kit. I was worried at first when the cowling was 3 pieces, but, it went together great. Very detailed and solid.

Sorry for the long delay on checking back in, guys! You all have made a ton of progress, especially compared to mine. Been busy though with the warming weather. Had to repaint the canopy after the masking tape peeled off the clear undercoat, which set me back too. 

Anyway, here is the HobbyBoss Ms406 officially completed.

Didn't notice the prop had walked out a bit for this shot -- oops.

Period photos show little to no soot around MG barrels, but lots behind the ejection ports. Also lots of soot and oil staining around the retractable radiator, which also dirtied the undercarriage well doors. I could have done more here but was afraid of going too far. Same with the chipping. Since this paint scheme is set in 1939 the paint was still pretty new. Examples from 41-42 show a TON of wear to orignal paintwork. 

Overall, a nice, if basic, kit that went together very well. I'm happy with the result and learned a ton. Thanks for following along, all! 

suomi, i do like the look of that. Interesting looking subject and a real nice job on the scheme, and that home made 3 looks really well done.
