I wish I could join this, but I already have 4 1/72 scale Russian Hinds built: One A, one D one E, and one F. And those are the ones in Russian markings. I also built two in West German markings, and one Hind D in Iraqi markings. Total: 7 Built Hinds. Now, if I could find markings for another one in some other Middle East country's markings, maybe I can join this!

Hinds fly with only the top half of the door swung open , the bottom does not have a locking device , relies on gravity to stay in position. Yes I am a Hind builder too, I am doing the 1/48 Mini Hobby for my mates display cabinet .....and can't wait to get my hands on Trumpeter's BIG one..................................yes the clone ship is almost too similar[ must be the right formula]

i'm not sure when to stop it, i started todayBig Smile [:D] not sure how long it will take, but i plan to put it in a diorama so not sure when i will complete it.

i lost the joystick when i dropped it on the floor and found it when i was looking for the window which droped, had to make my own window though.

i painted the passenger compartment black, then lightly brushed it with silver, it looks very good.Wink [;)]

also: did the hinds fly with the doors open like they do on the blackhawk and huey?

I just recieved my Trumpeter Hind.......WOW!!! Holy crap!!! And more WOW!!! It is a gorgeous kit!!! I am still in awe!! I had to clear off the kitchen table, the box is so big, and then I had to pry the lid off, and all of the sprues are still in the bags neatly packed, cause I am too shocked!!! The instruction manual is as fat as my television one. When do you want to set the stop date for?? Can we aim it for Sept/Oct region, or is that too late? I'm just curious, 'cause this one's definately going to take some time!!! Let me know the dates as soon as possible, and I'll let ya know if I can do it or not (though, I'm definately leaning in the "yes" region!!

is it just me or does the clone gunship in "starwars episode 2: attack of the clones" seem alot like the hind, both are heavily armed, and both carry troops.

When should we start this? i'm so exited!Big Smile [:D] on the hinds used in Kosovo (this is what i am painting my hind like) does anyone know a good colour for the tan parts? i baught a tan, blue and green, they all came out very close except for the tanSad [:(] the instructions say soviet tan, but i'm not sure who makes this colour or if it is a color.

Ah yes, the infamous J-Hulk waffling! I'm soooo afraid of commitment...

Seriously though, I wouldn't be able to start till late May.
And my track record for actually building a model in a group build I've joined stands at a solid 0-2.
But I am VERY excited about this new Trumpeter Hind-E!
Guess I'm a solid "maybe!"

Ooooo, very tempting...very tempting indeed. I just picked up the 1/35 Trumpeter Mi-24V Hind-E a few weeks ago, plus I have a 1/72 Hasegawa Hind-F and a 1/48 Mini Hobby Models Hind-D lurking in the closet...

That big Trump Hind-E would go great in a dio with my recently finished BMP-3...

i think i might put mine in a diorama. taking off, or asisting some 1/72 russian tanks. or or, in kosovo asisting some canadian tanks! i could have the hind supported by a building and the tanks in the street.

This is going to be fun..................

Count me in on this, I have the Monogram 1/48 and the Italeri 1/72. I could build both of them at the same time. Do the 1/48 as Soviet and the 1/72 as US Army.

BTW, A special thanks to every one who helped me get the references that I needed for the US machine.

HELICOPTERS - Mi-24 Hind Group build
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 7:07 PM
I've noticed that there are group builds in the aircraft and armour section, but not that many here. I have a hobbycraft mi 24/25/35 hind i painted it but havent started the building yet. I may repaint it because my tan seems too yellow.

So whos in? Who wants to build a Hind?Smile [:)]
