Thanks, everyone! Did a second coat of light gray last night, next I'll highlight some panels with darker and lighter colors.

PB: Really nice job on the pre-shading. She's already looking a little worn and beaten-up.

Thats quick even for that kit. She wouldn't want to come over and give me a hand with a few of mine would she.

Tell her well done, a first model is an important step in the right direction Wink And thank you both for taking part.

It was a simple snap tite kit.  Fit issues, but we took care of it.  LOL!

I'll send her right over...of course, you'll have to split your time with her with Janet.  LOL!

I'll tell her.

Thank you sir!

Deal, and tell her i will pay in Wispa's.

LOL!  She will be happy to hear that.....hey wait...I'll work for Wispa's!!!  Smile

I thought that would get your attention Big Smile

Well, I wanted to do more progress pics before she was finished, but she got on to it today and finished her up before I could post the pics!

I couldn't be more proud of her!  She did a great job I think.  She made Anakin about as good as you could for this model (as a matter of fact, she wants to keep the canopy OFF so you can see him better) and she did a smashing job on the decals for a first timer.  Here it is...my daugters Naboo Fighter.

Big parts being put together here:

Doing the decals:

And the finished build:

In the cockpit, I showed her the old punch set and sequence trick.  She picked the colors, punched the dots, and super glued them in herself!

Thanks for looking!

Again, Bish, thanks for hosting a rockin GB!  Can't wait for next years!  Whistling

Bobby, nice getting your kid involved with the hobby! Hope she has fun with the N-1. And although ye olde MPC Y-Wing can't keep pace with the Bandai kit, you did yours justice. Looks really good. Yes

Thank you very much!

I have heard some really good things about the Bandai kits.  All the reviews are pretty positive.  I'm looking for some when I go to the model shows this year for sure.

The N-1 has some fit issues, but that's when dad steps in and makes things better and then I give it back to her.  The Y-wing was surprisingly detailed and the fit was really not bad for a snap tite kit.  We've had fun doing both.

Nice finish on the Y-Wing Bobby! It's a ship that's grown on me over the years, I didn't particularly care for it when I was younger. And good to see your daughter getting in on the action too! My son has done a couple of snap-tites, but Legos are more his speed right now. I'll give him a few more years...

Thank you!

Funny, my daughter loves LEGOs also.  Not sure if she will get into this model building, but she seems to be having fun and she loves SW.  You never know.  She's already eyeing some of my other SW kits!  Wink

Bobby: Nice work there on the Y-Wing, esp considering the kit.

And great to see your daughter has inherited your modeling genes!

Thank you sir!

The Y-wing wasn't bad really...now the Naboo Fighter, it's a rough one.  LOL!

Yeah, she's a big SW fan.  She's already asking to get her own kits to do and put up in her room.  Wink

Nice one Bobby, did a good job on the old kit. Got you on the front page and have the Naboo fighter on the roster.

I built that one for my youngest daugter many years ago and she had it hanging from the ceiling.

Thank you sir!  It was a fun one for sure!

Oh yeah,....as she's building it, she asks..."can I put it in my room?"  What?!  This is from dad's sta......yes, you can put it in your room.  Yeah, I'm a push over.  LOL!  Whistling

Thanks again for a great GB Bish.  Always a joy!

And now for the Naboo Fighter!  My daughter is a huge SW fan and Bish suggested she do one for the GB.  So, I let her pick one out and she picked the Naboo Fighter.  She is doing a great job so far.  She is doing it up like the one Anakin got stuck in and saved the day.  Not sure how much detail you will see through the canopy, but she is doing up Anakin very well!  So, she will be doing the droid up as R2-D2.  Not sure if she will get into modeling, but doing SW kits might be her thing.  Wink

Here are some the first steps she did.

My innovative girl!....she is using her nail polishing tools to get the little red dot on R2-D2!!  You go girl!

Looking good there Bobby, i like the light and dark mix.

Thank you sir.  I like the contrast.  Shows some of the detail a bit better.

Well, I'm finished!  I think it turned out well.  I had a blast with this kit from the past and look forward to doing somemore SW kits!  After some Sol and a couple of coats of dull, the decals weren't too bad.  And yes, the top gun is ...odd.  She has a lot of wear on her, but she she keeps going back into battle.  Thanks for checking it out.

Bish...sir, thank you for hosting this GB.  I had a blast building this one and my daughter and I are working on the old Naboo Fighter together (her entry  for the GB)!  Not sure she will be a builder or not, but we are having some great daddy/daughter time!

Nice little collection you got there Bob. Don't forget to save some for the Ep IV build.

I just checked and the AMT kit is 1/100, but i will bet the Bandai kit will more than make up for that in detail.

Every thing is looking really good here! I picked up a couple of Bandai kits, the TIE Interceptor and the X-Wing kit with the 1/72 and 1/144 ships in the box and they look amazing. I measured the height of my AMT AT-AT and it's just over 8 inches tall, but I'm sure the Bandai kit will blow it out of the water. It would be cool of it came with a little snowspeeder to tie up the legs a bit.
