Cheers Bob, sounds like a good bunch to deal with. Maybe they have sites in different countries.

Bob: Those look awesome! I've watched some videos on 3D printing on YouTube but haven't taken the plunge and tried buying anything or using the local library's printer to try it myself. Pretty cool to be able to print anything if you know how to run the CAD program.

I think you should just stick a fork in me Bish, I'm pretty much done here. Sorry about defaulting but I just HAD to take a simple kit and turn it into the trials of Hercules by trying to light it. I'll finish the A-Wing sometime and I'll post her over on the SF/Fantasy section when I do.

Hi everyone! I have had this done for a little while just no time on the computer. Usually I would do this on my work computer during lunch, but since Photobucketheads got stupid and i had to change to imgur, I am blocked by the office firewalls.

But I am done with this I just need a place to hang it on my wall.

Thanks for another great group build!

-Stephen

Wow Stephen that looks awesome!!!

Bish: Thanks! Seems like other than the Tempest for your other GB the only thing I've building anymore has treads on it. Maybe I should have tried an Imperial walker.....

@Stephen,

That is a really cool stormtrooper gun. Hey, if you can't find any space, I have plenty of room on my walls! lol

@Bish,

Thank you for running this group build! It was great to participate with all who entered. Looking forward to the next Star Wars GB.

Well, I didn't get this wrapped up before Episode VIII came out, but I'm pretty close.  I just have a few details to add to the X-Wing, the groundwork, and the figures.  Here's a little teaser before the holidays where I'm at.  Hopefully with the time off from work I'll be done by New Year's.

No worries Bob, it really is worth the wait. It look brilliant, really nice weathering on that, can't wait to see it on the base. I like the raised nose and panels, what figures have you got to go with this.

My pleasure Bruce, i do enjoy running these.

Has anyone else seen Ep VIII yet. I went last sat, really enjoyed it, though it did seem to raise more questions than it answered.

Thanks Bish! I think most of them are from a Hasegawa Navy ground crew set. One or two are from some other miscellaneous kits from the spares box. I'm thinking of modifying one of the figures into a Duros, shouldn't be too hard with a Warhammer 40K Tau head grafted on.

I took my son to see Episode VIII last Friday night and we both liked it.  There were a few things I thought could have been done better but overall it was good, and I agree about it raising a lot more questions.

O yes, didn't think of that, Navy deck crew sound ideal. Good thinking.

Oh wow Bob she looks terrific!!! Heart I've seen people use the USN flight crews with good results. Converting them to Duros will be pretty cool though!

I'm going to wait till TLJ comes out on Netflix. The only Disney SW film I've seen so far is RO and I frankly thought it was a dud. It could have been friggin' awesome and they made a mess out of pretty much everything. And the online buzz about TLJ hasn't been kind. When I think of SW it's about a epic story of good vs. evil, bigger than life heros and villians doing awesome stuff but this from what I've heard is the opposite- just another dark, angry, bitter film like everything Hollywood seems to make these days. I really, really prefer the old Expanded Universe.

Bob, your X-Wing turned out awesome. Like that color scheme even more now that I can see the finished product, and your weathering is spot-on. Nicely done, sir! Hope you will post photos of the base and figures when you're done.

I saw TLJ last weekend and have to say I came away pretty let down and upset. I fell asleep that night mentally cataloguing all the things I thought were wrong with the movie. :-( This time around there seems to be a generational divide--if you saw ANH in 1977 (at a drive-in, like me), greater chance you won't like TLJ. If you're a millennial, you'll probably love it. Seems to be a very polarizing movie, in any event. Made me love Rogue One even more. Sure, it was dark film, but I think in a good way and still captured the essence of the SW universe and Rebellion struggle. The good thing is I'm taking my kids to see TLJ on New Years Day, so I'll at least give it a second try. :-)

BUT--back to models. :-) On the final stretch with the AT-ST, and hope to finish in a week (maybe less?). Will post pics.

After that, I'll take a break then tackle the Hobby Boss Su-34. Next year: Bandai Falcon. Can't wait.

PB: Looking forward to more photos!!!

I think I'm going by the library first of the year and check out Timothy Zahn's Thrawn trilogy again. Read them over a decade ago and loved them. I really wish Disney had went with something more like these and the rest of the EU. Anyway sorry Bish and guys for the whining- I was just really hoping Disney would do something awesome with the license...

Hey, guys:

AT-ST finished! And I guess this will unofficially close this GB....? Thanks so much again for hosting, Bish, appreciate your guiding hand. :-)

Building these Bandai SW kits was a welcome distraction and a bit of therapy for a challenging 2017 (deaths on both sides of the family), so I guess it's a minor miracle I got anything built at all.

Thanks for looking and hope everyone has a great New Year and good start to 2018. I'll be taking a break then cleansing my palate of sci-fi subjects by tackling the Hobby Boss Su-34. Then will dive into the Bandai PG Falcon....... Propeller

Thanks, Bish! You guys push me to do better. :-)

You *have* to do some Bandai kits. They're so well engineered you don't have to worry a second about the construction--which allows you to focus all your energy on the painting and finishes.

It's rare to find kits with a combination of crazy good detail AND perfect fit. Bandai does it. I'm definitely spoiled now, and going back to limited-run stuff is going to be hard!

Thats whats so great about being on here, we all push and inspire each other.

I have the AT-ST and Stryiker, so thats a start. Probably going to keep the latter for the next GB.

That is one well weathered AT-ST! Love all the little details. I had to take a week off because of the holidays, but I'm hoping to finish up within the next couple of weeks. I got a couple of Bandai kits for Christmas so I might have to bust one out for the next one.

Lol, the Bandai X-Wing is tempting me, maybe if I just built it straight out of the box instead of trying to add all the LED stuff to it.....

Than again I found this on Ebay and gosh is it tempting, decent price and my favorite SW charactor..... Devil

And a Happy New Year to you my friend!

I'm hoping it's good. Kaiyodo seems to be a fairly well regarded name with their kaiju kits so we'll see.

BTW: Watched the 'Toys That Made Us' episode on Star Wars toys last night. Other than being a little cutesy overall it was an excellent documentary. They interviewed a bunch of guys from Kenner who went into a lot of detail about how the original action figures and vehicles were developed. It's on Netflix here in the US, no idea about the UK or anywhere else though.

Interesting find G. I have heard of that company before, starwarsmodels.com has a few in resin in 1/6th and 1/15. Yours sounds similar to the big screamin kits. Its a pity those company's are no longer doing SW kits.

Thanks!

Yes! Watched that a couple of nights ago. Agree that it was little too "VH1 pop-up video" for my tastes, but was cool seeing those toy designers talk about what must've been a crazy time period in their careers.

Although I couldn't help but think (in true geek fashion) when I saw the Falcon toys designer (forget his name), "Did you have to distort the proportions so much on every one?" Geeked
