Hey PB, keep forgetting to tell you but those paints look really cool. And fantastic work on the interior of the walker!

Bob: That X-Wing looks terrific, love how she's coming.

That's cool. Definitely want to see the final product. :-) I really liked the blue X-Wings in Rogue.

And sadly, Bish, I'm not part of any clubs and haven't done any shows, so at most, the only other people who might see the cockpit are my wife and kids. Big Smile But I do like the idea of the stand.

Thanks guys! PB, that's just what I'm doing. I wanted to do something different than a Red Squadron ship so I'm doing it up as Blue Leader's X-Wing from Rogue One. I spent a lot of time watching the movie and looking at stills to discover it is almost identical to the markings on Red Leader's X-Wing. So I used the Bandai instructions as a guide for painting.

After seeing the inside of yours, thats certainly somthing i might consider. I recall a hatzer build, i think it was Karl Logans, where he had a little stand he could put the roof on if needed to see the inside. Just sems a nice idea if your taking it to a show or club or just want to show it off.

Bish

PB, whats the fit like of the top of the pit. I am woundering if that can be left un glued so it can be lifted off.

I thought of that....hm. It's not really intended to pop on and off (as far as I can tell), but like any Bandi kit, the fit is such that you could take it off without too much trouble.

Generally speaking, Bandai's kit engineering is so good that in some ways, building one is more like assembling a Lego kit than a traditional model.

Great weathering! I like the blue/yellow scheme. So you're doing a on-the-tarmac type diorama? (sorry if you've mentioned this previously)

So here's where I'm at.  I did a wash with a mix of black and burnt umber acrylic craft paint and sealed it with Testor's dull coat.  Just a little bit more to do on the fighter then I'll move on to the figures and scratchbuilding a tool cart and working on the base.  I'm entering cruch time to get this done by the time The Last Jedi comes out next month.

Thanks, guys!

Yeah, too bad none of the detail can be seen when it's built up. Ah, well.

I do like that PB. Theres some great detail in that cockpit, and you have brought the best out of it. That does deserve to be shown off.

No work, no school, lazy day, so took advantage of time off to make more progress. Painted and detailed the cockpit, then assembled the head, and then I'll paint it next.

Not sure how I'm going to approach weathering, but my general plan is to keep it light (vs. my usual heavy stuff).

Hope everyone is well!

Bish:

Archive X paints arrived from over the pond today! Pretty quick considering they shipped on November 11th (I live in Northeast US).

I hope to use them before the end of the year, but will see....

That's looking really nice! The other day my brother was asking me what Star Wars Bandai kits I already have...I'm wondering if he's starting his X-Mas shopping already... I've made some progress on my X-Wing, I'm hoping to get some pictures up soon.

Will definitely let you guys know how the paint works out. Getting more eager to start the Falcon by the day! :-)

But in meantime,  a litte more progress on the AT-ST....got the legs and hull together  and painted, and painted base coat on the cockpit panels:

Next some detailing/weathering on the cockpit stuff and then I'll move onto construction of the head.

Hope everyone is well, and for those in the States, have a safe and fun upcoming Thanksgiving....

Porkbits

I found a photo that includes a jar of the paint (next to the Bandai Falcon)...should give a good idea of size.

But, yeah, they're enamels so could be on a slooooow boat to States. No problem, though, as I have enough kits to keep me busy for years. Sigh.

Thanks. Thats quite a bit bigger than the tins. Look forward to seeing what you think of it.

Porkbits

One-man operation--his name is Guy Cowen. He's on Facebook:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1696820240623353/

They're enamel paints, and apparently they've gotten positive reviews so far. The downside is they're expensive (about £12 per jar).

If you email Guy, he'll ask which SW ships/kits you're working on and suggest a line of colors. Pretty awesome.

Thanks. That is a bit pricey, but could save the hassle of finding the colours. How big arethe jars. I might consider his paints for Slave 1.
