PB: Great job there on the walker.

And that Falcon is insane!!! Glad I'm not a bigger SW or I'd be ordering one for Wookie Life Day!

One-man operation--his name is Guy Cowen. He's on Facebook:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1696820240623353/

They're enamel paints, and apparently they've gotten positive reviews so far. The downside is they're expensive (about £12 per jar).

If you email Guy, he'll ask which SW ships/kits you're working on and suggest a line of colors. Pretty awesome.

Thanks, Bish!

After I finish the AT-ST and Archive X paints arrive from UK (a fellow on your side of the pond has created "correct" paint colors for the Falcon that match the Floquil colors the ILM guys used on the 5-footer) I hope to start this beast.

Nice start on the Walker PB, i'll get that onto the roster.

Will be looking forward to seeing that Falcon. I think it will be a bit beyond my budget, so will make the most of yours.

Back in the saddle!

Started on the Bandai AT-ST tonight for what I hope will be my last entry for this GB before the deadline.

Got only the main hull and some other bits assembled and painted:

...but getting those first few parts off the sprue and together is sometimes the biggest hurdle towards clearing away the rust and cobwebs.

Regardless, can tell already it's going to be another great SW kit from Bandai.

Also, Bandai PG Falcon arrived today:

...and like someone in another forum wrote, swore could hear angels singing when I opened the box. The kit is amazing.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well.

Seven months sounds good. I won't be as ambitious next year and I think I'll build a TIE Interceptor.

Thanks, Bish. It will be intensive, but should be fun as per usual with Bandai's kits, only times 10. :-)

What I do have going for me is that I already built the FM Falcon back in 2006, so have a little practice and have gained a bit more skill since then. Fingers crossed.

In the meantime, I might throw together the AT-ST to get back in the saddle.

I look forward to seeing it PB. I am sure you will have finihsed by the time the next one starts, but if not, feel free to enter no matter how far along. I imagine thats quite an intesive build. I have the old AMT kit, and that won't be anything like the bandai kit.

Yeah, that should be PLENTY of time to make a decison, even for the indecisive lol.

I'll probably be working on the Falcon in the intervening months.

Look forwardto seeing that one PB.

Just a quick heads up guys. Not sure if you have heard, but the release of Ep IX has been put back from may 2019 to Dec, after a change of director. I was going to start the next round, the Ep IV GB in Oct next year. I planned on a shorter GB this time as i think a year is to long, and i have noticed that GB's that keep repeating seem to get less interest as they go. So, to that end, i will keep the next one at 7 months with a start date of May 2019.

So, theres plenty of time to decide what to build.

It does looks great, Bob! Also can't wait to see what you do with the weathering. It's always a fun, creative exercise.

My 1/72 Bandai Falcon has shipped, should be here in a few days. PropellerPropellerPropeller

Thanks guys! I did the sponge technique for the chipped paint and I tried hard to not over do it, especially since it's the squadron leader's ship. Nuc, I used to play Star Wars Commander but ran out of room on my iPad and had to delete it. I do have Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes on it though. My Apple game ID is 33silentbob

Silentbob,

X-wing is looking great! Can't wait to see the weathering process.

Question( not model related ), are you on Star Wars Commander as Silentbob88? If so I believe we had a squad war against you. I am Madrancor on the game.

No worries Bob, worth the wait, its looking good. Looking forward to the weathering, be interested to see how you do this as that part has put me off doing any of my rebel ships.

I'm sorry it's taken so long to update this, life keeps getting in the way lately.  The major painting is done, and I'll be able to start the fun part of Rebel ships: weathering.

Stephen: General G looks great! Love those pre-cast joints, I wonder what they'll come up with next!

And if you didn't do a little pew-pew with the blaster you wouldn't be normal! Wink

PB, Greivious had some tricky assemblies around the neck that you have to pay attention to, but other than that, he fell together quite well. I do suggest gluing his outer armor pieces down if you plan to handle him as they can (and will) fall off.

As for the blaster, how can you even ask? I have taken on the whole rebellion while making the pew, pew sounds. It is just to fun. I would suggest getting at least one, I have my eye on the Han Solo blaster next. The blaster is all put together, I am just trying to do a good job on painting and weathering right now.

Bish, no worries! You have a lot on your plate. Yep I got the blaster from across the pond and it sounds like you found the same seller. I would have to say the casting came from a sterling as it had a lot of the machine stamps on it. This really builds into a nice prop.

-Stephen

Don't know why i said Sten, of course i should have said Sterling. I think i will get one in the new year. Are you useing a stand, i see they have one but are out of stock.

Stephan, great work on Grievious, i do think he looks better with the cape. I'll update the front page later.

And it is mind boggling how theycan mold that joint.

I like the look of the blaster. Afteryou first posted, i found a place selling these in the UK, not a bad price. I am sureits the same one as it also didn't have the scope rail. They said it was molded useing a real Sten. Think i might have to grab one.

Grievious looks awesome, Stephen! Well done. I suppose like most Bandai kits, it just fell together without too much effort? And, yeah, how Bandai molded pre-joined movable joints is beyond me.

I'm not usually a fan of props, but am geeking out on that blaster. There is no way you haven't pretended to shoot a few Rebels while making "Pew! Pew!" sounds. Propeller

Hoping to maybe start the AT-ST a couple of weeks. Life, work, kids, and a couple of family tragedies have kept me away from bench too long. It's getting dusty. :-(

Lodni, that is looking great! Looking forward to seeing some paint on it.

I was able to finish of General Grievious this week, here are the final pics.

Starting on some weathering.

Had to put the cape on just to see.

Gamera, these are some of the molded joints.

I still don't know how they do that.

Anyway, I have him finished up in these final pics.

I don't quite like how the cape lays on him. So I finised up the lightsaber arms and put those on.

So he is now on the shelf in the Star Wars room.

As for the blaster, I have primed and base painted it. Also have put on most of the small parts. I made a rail for the telescope out of aluminum and mounted the scope on it. now I need to mount it to the gun, attach the shoulder stock extension and the Hengsteller counter. Then the real painting starts.

Hope everyone is doing okay. Plan to have more to show by Sunday.

-Stephen
