Well, no rest for the Imperials especially if we are going to crush the rebel scum! So onto the next vehicle.

This is going together very quickly, I already have the power base together. I guess it goes that way when you don't have to glue anything. So far no painting either.

The two legs are also together. They have some articulation, if you want more there are stop nubs inside that you can remove. 

So onto the crew compartment and this is where I am slowing down. As good as the model is the figures are pretty bad. Head sculpt is pretty good but the hands and feet are horrible.

Deciding whether to fix them or leave them as is, probably not going to see them that we'll anyway.

Looks nicley detailed. Are you planning on painting at all.

Yes, I will paint the sub-assemblies and then weather the whole model.

NMT, the Defender looks great. Wish I had that on my shelf. :-) 

The Bandai AT-ST is supposed to be a really good kit. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

And as you said is there much visible of the figures other than their faces though the view slits? 

Finally got some bench time after about a week (phew). Just a minor update with some more bits assembled. When I find some more time, I'll paint a base coat and then figure out where to go from there.

Have my eye on Bandai's 1/144 AT-AT, which should be out soon, and keeps looking better and better. Bish, you might have to add one to my build list. These Bandai Star Wars kits are like the crack cocaine of modelling! (ok, bad comparison)

Bish, from what I read, the Bandai AT-AT will be slightly over 6 inches tall (152mm or 15.25cm). And pre-release pics reveal Bandai's usual awesome level of detail. Despite being smaller, the Bandai kit should best the AMT:

Ye, i can't recall the exact scale of the AMT, but i think it wasslightly over 144. But bandai will definetly produce a betterkit thats for sure and they seen to be sticking to set scales, AMT were all over the place.

My apologies for the delay in pics and all.  Been crazy busy at work and have been laid up sick the past couple of days.

Well, here is what I have so far for my SW entry.  The OLD Y-wing fighter.  Went together very quickly...of course I've been putting it together like a regular kit and not a snap tite.  Going to do a little something different with the colors for the fighter and try some serious weathering....those rebels don't have the time to clean their ships you know.  .  So here it is...the Y-wing!

Thank you Bish....I mean..LORD VADER.  LOL!

Going to do a little something with a darker grey for the body and the usual white for the cockpit area and engine "nacelles".  Going to add some color to the piping and paint up the mech droid.  Hope it turns out alright.  Doing some major weathering on this one. 

So I did some more weathering and stuff last night.  I'm actually liking the way it is turning out.  Not sure how accurate or true the colors are...but hey, it's a Sci-Fi.  LOL!  The decals are from 1984!!!  They are proving to be a bit troublesome, but multiple coats of Micro Sol might help.  And a coat of dullcaot when I'm finished should help.  I going to throw some color on some of the "conduit" and I'm actually finding that there is a fair amount of detail in this old kit (for '84 standards).  So some dry brushing and a wash should help make it pop.  So here ya go.  Thanks for checking it out.

I just checked and the AMT kit is 1/100, but i will bet the Bandai kit will more than make up for that in detail.

Well, I'm finished!  I think it turned out well.  I had a blast with this kit from the past and look forward to doing somemore SW kits!  After some Sol and a couple of coats of dull, the decals weren't too bad.  And yes, the top gun is ...odd.  She has a lot of wear on her, but she she keeps going back into battle.  Thanks for checking it out.

Bish...sir, thank you for hosting this GB.  I had a blast building this one and my daughter and I are working on the old Naboo Fighter together (her entry  for the GB)!  Not sure she will be a builder or not, but we are having some great daddy/daughter time!

And now for the Naboo Fighter!  My daughter is a huge SW fan and Bish suggested she do one for the GB.  So, I let her pick one out and she picked the Naboo Fighter.  She is doing a great job so far.  She is doing it up like the one Anakin got stuck in and saved the day.  Not sure how much detail you will see through the canopy, but she is doing up Anakin very well!  So, she will be doing the droid up as R2-D2.  Not sure if she will get into modeling, but doing SW kits might be her thing. 

Here are some the first steps she did.

My innovative girl!....she is using her nail polishing tools to get the little red dot on R2-D2!!  You go girl!

Yeah, she's a big SW fan.  She's already asking to get her own kits to do and put up in her room.

Nice finish on the Y-Wing Bobby! It's a ship that's grown on me over the years, I didn't particularly care for it when I was younger. And good to see your daughter getting in on the action too! My son has done a couple of snap-tites, but Legos are more his speed right now. I'll give him a few more years...

Funny, my daughter loves LEGOs also.  Not sure if she will get into this model building, but she seems to be having fun and she loves SW.  You never know.  She's already eyeing some of my other SW kits!

I have heard some really good things about the Bandai kits.  All the reviews are pretty positive.  I'm looking for some when I go to the model shows this year for sure.

The N-1 has some fit issues, but that's when dad steps in and makes things better and then I give it back to her.  The Y-wing was surprisingly detailed and the fit was really not bad for a snap tite kit.  We've had fun doing both.
