Jack: It's funny, I saw those on HLJ the other day and thought those are cool but I don't need any pre-painted action figure type stuff. I went back and noticed yes they are models that you get to paint yourself. Pretty darn cool! I've got a bunch of Christmas presents I bought for myself pre-ordered from HLJ, I may just have to add one of those to my list. Thanks for the head's up!!!

Thanks, Cliff! And thanks for allowing me to add the Type 4, but I will respect Bish's wishes and not cross over. Although, I'll post pictures of the completed Type 4 as honorable mention. How's that sound?

I've been working on the Kikka when I have wait time on the Airfix Meteor F.8 I'm also building now.  I was hoping that I would get away from dark cockpits, but it seems IJN Green is the color for this one.  Pretty dark.  I checked some photos of the one at the Smithsonian and that is the right color, not the lighter Nakajima cockpit color.  Everything has fit well in the cockpit, the only issue I had was the decal for the instrument panel that took a long time to release from the backing paper, and then broke in several pieces.  I mostly got things in place.  Microsol did the rest, and as usual little of it will be visible.  Then I thought I would mask up the canopy, and found that the Eduard masks just wouldn't stick.  They also were not fitting very well, and I'm wondering if the Eduard masks have a shelf life.  It does look like they have shrunk up some.  I scanned the sheet, redrew it, and cut new masks with a Silhouette vinyl cutter I bought recently, which worked fine except that some panels were a little small.   I fixed that with a few strategic applications of Tamiya tape.

I have assembled the fuselage halves and the wings and done the seam work.  The fuselage halves did not line up as well as the typical Hasegawa kit, but all the seam demons have been quelled at this point ( I think).  All the nacelle parts have been painted and are ready for assembly.
