At first glance I thought the Typhon was an F-16, then I saw the delta wing.

Wouldn't mind getting that one as well. Hmm Need to get my money’s worth out of that decal sheet you know. Aaaand while I'm at it, maybe a Chinook. Big Smile

I think I'll go with 31 Sqn 100 year anniversary, Marham 2015.

I know what you mean about the Typhoon from side on.

I did the matchbox chinook a few years back, nice kit. Not sure if there is a kit of the new ones, will have to look into that. They had not long started bringing in the mk3 when i left, so not seen the 4, 5 and 6.

A Marham Tonka suits me nicley.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

This is just a dry fit.  The wings literally just click into place like a snaptite model kit.  It's held together with a nut and steel machine screw.  There are no seam lines nor any gaps whatsoever!  WOW!

The only 1/72 Chinook kits I found so far are the Italeri 47E SOA, and 2 Trumpeters, one 47A and one 47D. I have no idea about the RAF configuration. I could probably find an Airfix or some other kit on the web somewhere but it more than likely not be a Mk4.

As far as the Typhoon I'm looking for a GR.4 version. Hobby Boss has an Ef-2000a and a EF-2000B

The Mk 4 is a Mk 2 with updated avionics, but i am not sure what and if there are any differances between the Brit ones and otehrs. But more often than not, when we use other peoples aircraft, or aircraft that other use such as the Tornado and Typhoon, ours are differant to the others, but some times in just small ways.

The FGR.4 is the type equipped for the air to ground role and has been in service since 2008, either built as new or upgraded from the F2. The Hasegawa kits were all released after that and though they do not stat they are FGR.4's, my guess is they would be the best option.

Ooo, sounds good. I didn't know Hase made an EF but that doesn’t surprise me. I'll look for the Hase kits and a Mk 2. About the British Chinook, I read somewhere the blades were of a slight different shape due to being made from composite and that the "TV" antennas were missing from the nose but I am clueless about the Chinook.

I think any of the Hase kits wil do, they are all basically the same kit but with differant markings. I found a review which says it includes the FLIR pod which would make it ground attack capable.

I am not all that clued up on the finer points. I find modern aircraft rather confuseing with all the differant small antenna pods and so on. It al makes studying German aircraft and armour a breeze.

The only new Chinook kit out in recent years is the Italeri 48th kit. I find it frustrating when you can buy decals for aircraft there are no kits or even conversions for.

Thanks Bish!  I was contemplating on adding the landing gear later. Maybe after adding the camouflage but I figure I'd better stick to the instructions and follow through.  In the hands like a dummy like me, this kit is too complex for me to be jumping around.  LOL!  Bish, thank you once again for inviting me to this wonderful GB!

As you can see in the previous photos above with the dry fit of the wing attached, a screw and a nut is all that's needed to hold the wing to the fueselauge.

Plus it's great that such a small piece like this nut can hold the wing/fueselauge together.

Hey everyone, sorry for the delay in progress pics.  Been crazy busy!

Here are some pics of the Bucc, Victor, and Vulcan.  The Bucc is done and waiting to refuel with the Vic!  Again, I apologize ahead of time if anyone is offended by the nose art.  But that is what they had in Desert Storm.  The Victor just needs a little detailing/weathering and the decals.  The paint has been the thorn in my side with this build.  Wanted to get as close as I could to what they used and what I remember seeing when I was there.  It's not 100% but it's pretty darn close.  The Vulcan has the lower paint on and the upper grey for the camo.  I'm drawing out the camo pattern for 607 now and going to use it to paint the RAF Dark Green on her next.  Been fun remembering my time over there during the Storm and trying to remember the details of the these planes when I saw them...it's been awhile you know.  LOL!  So here they are.  Thanks for looking!

Eagle, the Buck, Vic and Vulcan are looking good

Toshi, it just getting better and better

Bish, I'm done with the Spit. There are several other things I could do but being it will be hanging and out of reach for a while (the grandsons are 2 and 4) it really won't matter. They already have several of mine there.

LOL once they figure out how to use a ladder, adios airplanes.

Thank you everyone for the complements but the camera lies.

Toshi:  exceptional work!  amazingly detailed

Eagle:  outstanding collection of planes you're working on

Steve:  camera may lie, but the Spit still looks good in photos (probably Clark Gable did too)

Spent the last two days pleasantly masking the clear canopy parts--although with old Airfix kits, "clear" is a relative term; used strips of masking tape, then filled in with MicroMask

Managed to lose a Lewis gun while painting them a few weeks ago, so found a replacement set; not a popular item--only Hannant's had them

"Lost Lewis" has a kind of poetic ring to it

Steve, i know the camera can hide things, but i think you are being a bt hard on yourself. But then i think that reflects the standard  of your builds and what you have come to expect from yourself. That looks pretty good to me. I'm sure the grandkids will love it.

Thanks for shareing that with us, i'll add one to the front page later on.

Now looking forward to the Tornado.

Steve, i was just looking at whats in the next issue of the mag and theres a review for a new revell Eurfighter. I did some looking and it was released last year, must have missed that. It appears to be a completly new tool. The kit only has markings for a german aircraft, but i am sure revell will rpoiduce a British one which will no doubt have the FGR.4 option. Personally, i think i will put on hold getting the hase kit and at least wait to see some reviews for the revell one, or until they release a British one.

Thank you Check!  Those canopies look great!  That is one of my weak links is masking canopies.  I've bought some of those pre done mask sets, but you can't find them for every build.  But you did a great job on those.

Thank you sir!  The Bucc colour came out great, it's the Vic that is off just enough to bug me.  LOL!  But it is pretty good and you get the idea.  Besides, in different light it looks better.  LOL!  Hope I'm doing the RAF proud.  Wait until you see the pics when I have the Vic refueling the Bucc!  Wink

Toshi...there are no words!  Man, the detail is amazing!  It is a wonderful build you are doing!

Thank you Eagle90.  Your words are way too kind.  As for the detail, it's blown my mind, just out of this world.  I've really enjoyed this build yet it's been very difficult.  There are many a days I've needed to step away as I could not comprehend the directions.  Thank you Eagle90 for the read and reply!

To Eagle90,

All three builds are excellent examples of your skill work.  The nose art, any nose art in my humble opinion never offends me as it's what the crew depicted during a time of war.  They're allowed to.  I love all three choices of aircraft, they are quite unique in it's nature and you've done a fantastic job depicting it as so!

I must agree with Eagle90.  The Spit does look awesome!  It might not be up to your standards but still, you've completed this kit in lieu of the GB and for that I commend you sir.  Your a man of honor!  Congratulations on a job well done!

Bobby great finish on the Bucc. Have always liked the look of the V bombers. Yours are looking great.

Toshi. The shear number of pieces in that kit is amazing. You are doing a wonderful rendition of the Wooden Wonder.
