CMK02: Nice work there on the canopies. I think I've said it before- I absolutly loath masking them. I think I'd rather slam my head in a car door than mask a greenhouse canoply.

The best price i have found the Hase kit is around £33 on e-bay with freepostage from the far east. When i look on Hannants its £39.99, but i am guessing they remove the VAT for the price you get.

I have been doing some checking and i can't seem to find any differance in the Typhoons used by each nation. According to hannants the revell kit is a batch 3. I am guessing they mean Tranche 3 which would make it the latest type. But i found a couple ofreviews and there is no mention of which version it is or a FLIR pod. I could not see one in the sprue shots either. But seeing as i think its only the RAF that uses it in the air to ground role, that would make sense. An RAF FGR.4 would only need a small sprue with the FLIR and air to ground weapons, so it would not surprise me if that was forth coming.

All three builds are excellent examples of your skill work.  The nose art, any nose art in my humble opinion never offends me as it's what the crew depicted during a time of war.  They're allowed to.  I love all three choices of aircraft, they are quite unique in it's nature and you've done a fantastic job depicting it as so!

Thank you sir!  The nose art has always been a fasination with me.  From WWII to modern, it is neat to look into the pilots eye on their nose art.  Desert Storm was a funny situation for nose art.  Being our host country was so strict on things like that.  But they were very generous in that aspect while all these different countries were there.  It is history.  Thank you again!

Spent the last two days pleasantly masking the clear canopy parts--although with old Airfix kits, "clear" is a relative term; used strips of masking tape, then filled in with MicroMask

Managed to lose a Lewis gun while painting them a few weeks ago, so found a replacement set; not a popular item--only Hannant's had them

"Lost Lewis" has a kind of poetic ring to it

 

Thank you Check!  Those canopies look great!  That is one of my weak links is masking canopies.  I've bought some of those pre done mask sets, but you can't find them for every build.  But you did a great job on those.

Steve, i was just looking at whats in the next issue of the mag and theres a review for a new revell Eurfighter. I did some looking and it was released last year, must have missed that. It appears to be a completly new tool. The kit only has markings for a german aircraft, but i am sure revell will rpoiduce a British one which will no doubt have the FGR.4 option. Personally, i think i will put on hold getting the hase kit and at least wait to see some reviews for the revell one, or until they release a British one.

Nice masking job check. Bummer about the lewis gun, but i do like the kora resin stuff.

Steve, i know the camera can hide things, but i think you are being a bt hard on yourself. But then i think that reflects the standard  of your builds and what you have come to expect from yourself. That looks pretty good to me. I'm sure the grandkids will love it.
