Things have slowed down on my bench but I have a little progress.
On Ed's bench, ???
Yeah.., I’m still having a hard time deciding what two to build... I have so many in the stash...
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!
N is for NO SURVIVORS...

With so many finishes and nearly finished I feel like I'm under producing something fierce. But you guys haven't even started yet??
Okay, I'm not doing too badly then lol.

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
Nice work folks.
Bob, I’m in the same boat. I have a couple projects that I need to wrap up before I can start mine. And here this GB is almost six months in now. Hopefully right after New Years I can get started. Just too much going on right now.
Well I spent a lot of time binge watching both The Punisher, and Luke Cage this weekend. I made a little progress on my Mustang, but mostly I just whittled away on my second build which I suppose I will have to declare official now.
The Monovell A6M-5 Zero.
Nothing fancy with this kit. Just right out of the box simplicity. Should be really simple to paint lol. I still need to make the canopy fit better as it has a lot of gaps as-is. Some putty work is also still needed, but I was surprised at how well the parts still fit and function, once the flash is removed. The landing gear still retract as they should although it's just a novelty. So there isn't much to this kit. No cockpit at all. So I'm going to tint the windows to obscure the view and just do some token painting on the inside. Mostly it will remain black to hide the lack of... Anything. So that is that. Mostly just a good exterior paint job for this baby.

Fw Update. Finished paintwork. Tried Tamiya's new tape for curves. Was very pleased with it.
Wow you guys have all been rocking along! Way to go! I do like the Chapparell; very nice! That Stuka looks perfect for the intentions you had!
I just wish I could get my E-mail notifications whenever someone posts here! I'm simply not getting them!
Okay, here's my latest progress so far:
I shot the yellow and Olive Drab on the P-51 after masking it all up. Here's the result:Later I also dullcoated the P-40 after the decals dried:I should be able to finish that one soon.....
Hopefully I'll get more done this coming weekend. Stay tuned and thanks for looking in!
And about a month to finish P-38 to get a GB badge...
Sooner Born...Buckeye Bred.
Stuka finished. I wanted it to look like a POS on the russian front and I think I accomplished it with my crappy functioning AB and complete lack of skills.
Finished the Chaparral with time to spare-the kit is a simple build and could be enhanced by just taking the time and upgrading a few parts.
The kit is circa 1966-I'm not sure if the kit I build (picked it up at a model show this year-it was shrink wrapped but...) was the latest run (that I failed to purchase) or much older-which is what I suspect since the decals were terrible.
The instructions are simple but again, it's a simple kit. There were some sink marks and the fit of the headlights & covers, along with the wheels, could be improved.
Not my best work but it'll look ok by my Monogram 427 Essex Cobra from a Monogram GB from years ago.
Ok-time to focus on the AMT kits I committed to....but I do have a 1/48 Monogram bf109G-10 that could be done over a weekend....hmmmm
Bob
Very inspiring projects in here and getting done. Inspiring enough for me to get started on mine, soon!
Anyone with a good car don't need to be justified - Hazel Motes
DasBeav-looks interesting-looking forward to seeing the results.
Tony-thanks for the encouragement-I admire your courage-I shutter to think about building 1/43 scale.
My progess has been a bit of a disaster-poor painting skills have pretty much shot my chances of finishing within the 48hr window for the Weekend GB but I'm hoping to come close. Oh-my camera chose not to save the pics to the SD card.....but we'll work thru this...
Don't Laugh!!! ....Will be painting tomorrow. Depending how the masks come off I will conclude this build as finished or "finished" if you know what I mean.
That Phantom is looking great Ed. Bob, I briefly considered doing the Chaparral for this GB too. I'm glad you're doing it.
I'll join up with a Monogram 1/43 1967 Corvette and a Monogram 1/43 Cobra 289 please. These kits were released in 1990 including a fret of photoetched detail bits, and I've had them in my stash since then. It must be time to show them the light of day !
Cheers
Tony
WOW guys! Just Wow! Nice work!
Lots of small stencils on this CAM Decals sheet but it really dresses up the old Revell kit.
Great work all-it's hard to believe that all of these kits are Monogram/Revell-just goes to show that with skill & patience, they make great looking finished products.
Stik-I know I'm on board for a couple of AMT kits-P-40E (as a Kittyhawk) and a Fiat dragster, but I'm going to attempt the Monogram Chaparral Coupe for the Weekend Madness GB, starting tomorrow night, and would like to post progress pics here also-if that's ok-if not, no problem.
Planning on painting the Fiat coupe body with the Chaparral.....I might get creative with the Fiat using the white base....we'll see....picked up some Tamiya 2mm flexible tape and this might be a good test.
It's a simple kit but it needs a lot of TLC-a lot of flash & cleanup required
Much more shiny in real life...two coats of Future.
After long Thanksgiving weekend, finally, got the decals on. Tried my Vallejo Decal Fix and Medium(came with paint set) with mixed results, some of which was my fault. Next the tedious "Where Eagles Dare" masks...Hoping for no paint liftage. BTW, is there a FSM Forum record for knocking off antenaes?
Nice work on that 190 cbaltrin. I still haven't found that kit out there at any of my haunts, but I did find the A6M5 Zero and I think that's going to be my second kit for this GB.
It looks like I'm seriously lagging behind in this GB so far. There is some nice work showing up in this thread!
I need to make some progress! :)
stikpusher Looking good to me! The 75 and 76 grays look good. Or is that 74 and 76?

75&76 so far!
Not off to a great start here. Been years since I did a luftwaffe scheme. Found out my airbrush needle has a bent tip as well. I'll touch it up though and it will come out fine I am sure..
