Well...I'm calling this little beast done.  Decals were horrendous. But I was able to save the important ones.

Theuns: Very impressive work there on the panel lines and rivets. Looking forward to seeing more paint on her.

Bruce: Very cool! One of the guys in our club builds big and I mean a yard/meter long subs - I think they're about 1/72nd scale and at our IPMS cook-out at one of the members homes who has a pool he has to bring them and float them.

And the Type 4 is fine, I'd love to see how she's coming along.

Typical of tamiya decals these were thick and dont seat into the detail well :-(

Calling it done, the kit was nice but the external detail is very basic.

Overall shape looks good. The acutual colour is a little more green thn in the pix, my cell doesnt reflect my IJN mix 100%

I'm a bit late this year, but my entry will be the Special Hobby 1/72 Ki-115 Tsurugi.    :)

Theuns: My apologies. I was looking for the thread to pop to the top with new posts but I guess when you posted there was so much else going on it ended up dropping back to the middle again. Sorry not an excuse just an explanation. Only explanation is that your host is an idiot sometimes...

Anyway she looks great to me, nice work!!! And you're posted, only took me three weeks...

Wrinkledm: Sure, sounds good, just added you to the roster. Gee the Ki-115 is a small plane in 1/48th- got to be tiny in 1/72nd.

No need for ANY apologies mate. I must admit that I have been off this particular GB since posting last...my time is limited due to work these days and the little "net time" I have has to be spread thinly :-(

Just for something to post a few photos from my visit to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky today.

If anyone remembers a sinkhole opened beneath the museum back in 2014. A few of the cars that fell in were restored but five were too far gone. I did tear up a bit...

Nice looking Rufe Theuns. I've enjoyed the work that you've shared.

I've been slack on this GB too, but I've been thinking about it a lot. There's a few subjects I've got interest in apart from the FW 190 that I promised.

Steve: Glad you liked them. It's a really nice museum, if you ever get out to Kentucky worth a visit. They used to do factory tours, I went on one some years ago. They've put in a new painting facility and moved a bunch of stuff around and stopped doing the tours, the guide told me they're restarting them the first of 2019 though.

Tony: I'd love to see anything else you might want to add.

I did dig this out and start on it to have something to do while sitting around the motel room in the evenings. I might toss it in the GB too. I really really REALLY need to finish the other subjects first though.

Hey Cliff, Ive got a 1\48th scale Nichimo Ki45 Nick begging to be built if ok with you. I was reading about these the other day, and would like to build a home defence night fighter that would attempt to intercept and down attacking B29s. Thanks, Doug

But now I've had a guy visit our IPMS Club and ask for someone to build some figures for his son who just came back from a deployment in the Middle East. And a Mustang for our IPMS show special award. And Bish's group built. I'm a bit stretched thin at this moment.

Afternoon all! Been a bit but I finally got caught up. This will be a 1/48 Nichimo Ki45 Nick, used as home defense against the attacking B29s. From what I've read, this aircraft was sturdy as far as air frame went but was plagued from begining to end with engines that would just shut down in flight, burst into flames ,mainly on take off and exhibited poor performance throughout the 4 different engines that were tried in it. Oh well, with all that it still served the entire war starting with the invasion of China. 

Kinda basic, but the thing I like about the Nichimo, Otaki and Arii kits , is that they have a good amount of exterior detail to begin with. Rivets, panel lines, and a decent fit when time to assy.

REAL basic interior, but I think we can dress it up some with a few extras. Now from what Ive read, these had a basic olive drab interior color throughout, so thats what we'll go with. I just start with silver so I can scratch and weather a bit easier.

IvI' been to about 4different shows recently, mostly day trips, but we're planning to attend the Columbia SC show and the Huntsville AL. show in the near future! Also my son is stationed in the Virginia Beach area at Cherry Point(?)  NAS, I think. So , ya never know!
