Cliff, good to know (I think ) that I'm not the only one that would consider doing a female figure, and non-military at that. I always liked the look of this 1/10 scale resin kit, but just can't justify the evilbay price tage of US$99.00
Couple recent googles found her a lot cheaper, but not familiar with the vendors - could be knockoff casts, or sites not to be trusted? For both when I check their store front info, it states they are fashion outlets, lol.

Anyhow, I've still the Claude to finish up, but it could easily join the group of others bringing their builds into part VII.
regards,
Jack
TJ: Thanks!!! Going to add that now.
Doug: I built one of those years ago, not sure if it's the same version as yours since Tamiya does a few different ones. You'll enjoy this one, typical Tamiya fit and quality, a real gem!
Well, I guess it's time for me to post something. I'm still going to try to finish up the Type 95 with Japanese and Chinese infantry I started back in GB VI. And so I went though my stash and pulled out what looked to be the simplest Japanese subject I could find. Only a handful of parts and I'll brush-paint them so no masking. Plus no clear parts or PE. So hopefully I won't end up defaulting on my own GB for the third time...
And I just feel like something silly for a change...

Hey Cliff... I dug through the stash and found one I'd never seen in GB before. Matter of fact, I'd never heard of this one either, My wife brought it back from Japan on her last trip. Its a Tamiya 1/48 Hyakushiki Shitei III Recon aircraft. I asked her to bring back something unusual and she did... Any way, lets start there and right after the 1st We'll get going! Thanks and Merry Christmas and Very happy holdays to all!

TJ: Anything Japanese counts. Would love to have the T-34 and to see more modern stuff. In fact something from the future like the Space Battleship Yamato would be great too!
All I need is the scale.
Mike: Sure, no problem at all. I think I'm going to have to do the same thing. With Christmas and end of the year stuff I can't get what little I have left on my entry finished either.
Hi Cliff...I'm going to suck it up and ask that you carry my 1/48 Hasegawa Gekko forward. I got as far as having to rescribe some tricky (for me) joins on the fuse before falling into a big pit of life. Hoping to settle on a new image host & get going on it again in the New Year. Will repost the cockpit pictures to refresh everyone's memory of it, including my own!
There were some really great builds in 2017, it was fun looking in. Happy Holidays to everyone!
Mike
Doug: Great to have you back with us. I went ahead and put you down as undecided as yet.
PJ: Cool, just put you down.
Gamera please sign me up with a crossover from The Coral Sea GB, 1/48 Nichimo Nakajima Kate.
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!
Hey Gamera, I missed the last Japanese GB and was hoping you'ld be doing another! Let me look at the stash and I'll get back soon... Thanks!
Sure Bruce, you're more than welcome. I haven't put down anything for myself since I'm not sure I'll finish by the end of the year or not either...
Hey, Cliff,
I'm embarrassed to ask this, but, would you mind rolling over the 1/350 Tamiya I-400 sub that I was supposed to finish for JGB VI, please?

Cool, Thanks for the link, I've got a project that I need rivets that come off the surface. This plane I'm doing I had to add the rivet on with a pounce wheel. I'm not a fan of etched rivets cuz they usually are to big for the scale but as long as i dont over accentuate them I can live with them.

Falcon (I forgot Jeaton is named John too, might be better for me to call you guys by your callsigns so I don't end up confused!):
I have a few kits like this. Some of them in Revell boxings that look to be from the '60s and '70s I've picked up at shows. Stuff where the box is beat-up enough they're not really collectable. I'm thinking one is a 1/72nd Nakajima G8N Renzan 'Rita' four-engine bomber which is a Hasegawa kit. I'm wondering if Revell reboxed it or I'm just confused, I'll have to look when I get home.
I've heard of people just sanding off all the zillions of rivets on these older kits but if you want to replace them Archer Dry Transfers make some neat 3D rivet decals. They're resin rivets attached to decal sheet, just apply the whole strip of them like a regular decal and then paint over them and you can't tell they weren't molded to the surface. Saves a bunch of frustration instead of trying to attach a single rivet at a time. I wasn't sure the right spacing so I picked up their starter set.

I know I've had some other older kits, maybe aurora or lindberg that actualy have the decal positions as raised panel lines. I think that was a big 50's 60's thing. Of couse that's when I was a kid.

falconmod falconmod I'm in with my Ki-67 Hiryu 1/72 by LS John And here's some of the pieces I have to work with, the molds must be old as they have the position for the red decals engraved in the plastic. So I need to fill those and put down new panel lines and rivits.

LOL, I have never seen a kit showing where to put the Hinomaru's. That's funny.
I have a 1/50 scale Hasegawa #7 Ki-43 Hayabusa and it doesn't have "guides". The decals are junk due to age and I need to find some 1/48 scale decals to replace them.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Thanks John, going to put you down now.
Put me down for a Tamiya 1/48 Betty.

GameraThanks guys! Thanks all of you for your interest, support, and enthusiasm. It's you guys who have been keeping this going for seven years, let's make this the best yet!!!
You've been a great host Cliff, I have had a blast in the last two GB's. I have a strong feeling that I will be adding a other build right around the time of Christmas.
Hunter
Just put you down Simpilot, Falconmod, and Tony.
Thanks guys!

YES!! I may be getting a Hase 1/72 Betty or a Hase 1/72 JDF F-15J for reveiw that I can add to the roster. Sweet!
OK Gam I'm reporting for duty. I'm going to get this !@&%$# E7K1 finished lol. Should have my 1/48 F-106 done before then. Hasegawa 1/72 Aichi E7K1 Alf.
That's a nice kit Tony...looking forward to seeing them done. I need to get one of those double plane kits.
Thanks for going again Cliff. I love this time of year, it's the next years GB season....
I'll do the other half of this thing...the 190. Once I start these multi aircraft sets, I always feel compelled to finish them off. The box top doesn't state it, but it's 1/72.
The parts are off the sprue, but no construction has started, I'll send a photo before I kick it off.
Cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
Hunter , I'm with my amigo Steve! P.S. Cliff it's a 1/48th scale kit...no worries. And congrats on 7 years of a great GB!!

Thanks for the correction, just changed it.
Oh boy, I can't wait. I always love the Japanese GBs. I'm sure I'll have more to add as time goes by.
