Time to get caught up on the GB!

Chad, great work on the Stuka, man the camo job came out fantastic. Your build inspires me to get one of those Ju-87 kits!  Can't wait to see how the Lightning comes out!  Oh and let's not forget the Eugen, which is turning into another sweet build!

Frank, the Buffalo is a miniature work of art!  All your hard work masking the canopy paid off.  I agree, it looks better with the spinner! YesYes

Lostagain, those Metal Colours by Vallejo are the real deal,  used them myself a few times.  Your Vampire is rockin that aluminum!

Theuns, gotta say the Kate is looking pretty sweet in the NMF finish.  Looking forward to the finished build!

Dan, both the P-40 and the He-111 are coming along nicely!

So I'm out of town again this week on business and I put a hold on the Bf-109.  I decided to try those masking sets I hear so much about, waiting for it to arrive. In the meantime I'm starting two more kits which I brought with me on my trip.  Bish, can you please add them to the GB.

Both are 1/72:

I prepainted the interiors of both before heading out of town and brought enough (I hope) tools and paint to get some good work done!  I'll post pics when I have some worthy assembly done!

Next up i am building 2 72nd aircraft at the same time. I started both and the weekend and progress is going quickly.

First up, the new tooled Gladiator Mk II

I am adding some Eduard PE and a few Quickbost resin set. I'll be building an aircraft from 1401 (Met) flight as part of my Norfolk airfileds project, decals will be Print Scale.

The pit was quickly ready for paint with both resin and PE added.

After primer and paint, i added some light flory washes and some dry brushing. After this i could add the pre coloured PE.

And then the fuselage was put together and the lower wings and undercarrage added.

Don't think it will be to long before i get some paint on.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Alongside that, i have the 1975 boxing of the Mosquito. I did this kit years ago as an all black NF aircraft, but that was lost. So interesting to be building this alongside a new tooled kit.

One really interesting addition in this kit is a small label that we never see here any more.

And while it may have been made here, it was sent to me from across the pond by Eagle 90 a couple of years ago. Unfortunly the decals are a right off. But in my search for replacments i found some decals for aircraft operated by BOAC flying between Scotland and Swedan, so i'll be doing on of those. In additiong, i am useing an Airwaves PE set, pretty basic but its better than what the kit has. I also have some resin wheels and a vac canopy.

The pit soom went together and got painted along with some PE belts out of the spares box.

And the fuselage went together and the wings added. Fit isn't perfect but better than the SM.79.

Should also have the paint on this as well.

Dang Bish, you're moving along quickly with the Gladiator and the Mosquito!

My kids aren't quite as far along.  Cockpits on both are done, fuselages and wings added.  That's it!

Tomorrow is a travel day and then out of town again all weekend.  Building will continue on Monday!

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...

Congradulations Frank.

Bufflehead: Nice work on the Fw190 & P-51.

Bish: The Mosquito & Gladiator are coming along great.

Thanks Svenna Duva.

Thanks Mopar Madness.

Here's my quick update,

Decals are on, I did not put all the tiny ones on, the small number of them I did you can't really see them on top of the Olive Drab paint.  Then I sealed them in with Tamiya X-22 Clear.  When that was curied I applied Tamiya panel line to the top, I let it dry for a few minutes when wiped up the excess with Ordorless Mineral Spirits on a cotton swap.

The He-111 is coming along fine so are,

When gluing on the wings, the pilot side would not go in.  No big deal I can fill that in with some styrene.

Up Coming: ?

At Modelpalooza this weekend I scored what I thought was one 1/72 scale MPC F6F Hellcat.

When I got home and opened the box, I discovered not one but two Hellcat kits! Not bad for $5.00. I decided that I would build one kit as an F6F-3K Hellcat drone, similar to one I built in 1/48 scale.

The one I built is #12 way in the background.

Anyway, hopefully I'll be able to finish the build before December 31. More to come.

The Prinz Eugen is done.  I think the first picture would be most appropriate for the front page. She's painted in her pre-Baltic paint.

Thank you Bish.  Next up is some surf n' turf!  I would like to build the LCM Mk.III and Sherman combo. Definitely an older tooling but certainly looks nice on the sprue.
