That was quick, looks really nice. Could do with a nice watery base.

I'll get the front page updated.

The canopy paint mask for the Hellcat came in the mail today. I can finally start painting this weekend.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...

Been working on the Belfast gradually over the past couple of months until at the start of this week i had the main scheme done.

But the past week i have been working solely on her. I followed Steves suggestion on the wood decks useing Tamiya Deck Tan and a light Raw Umber oil wash. The raised areas around the main turrets don't have any raised deck detail so they are not quite as nice as the main deck, but overall i really like it. Thanks Steve.

With the rest of the superstructure painted and fitted there is only a few smaller bits left to add, though i still have some painting to do.

I plan on starting my Tiger I tomorrow, but i still hope to have this wrapped up by the end of the week.

I really like the look of the weathered deck!  I'll need to try that on my next ship.

The drone is almost ready for paint. I sanded the whole model to knock back the rivets and panel lines. I glued on some of the small bits before paint so final assembly wouldn't be so tough. The canopy mask is from Pmask for the Eduard F6F. With some cutting and slicing the canopy mask now fits an Airfix kit...lol.

I've been absent from the forum for some time and have been slow to show the models that I've built for this GB. They're all completed. My apologies, its not the intention to show all my photos after they're completed with WIPs along the way. Here's the first of them, the Airfix 1/76 Matador and 5.5 inch gun.

Cheers

Tony

Next up is the Airfix 1/76 Panther. I really don't like the shape of the hull, but it was part of a project I've been doing to build all of the Airfix tanks that I built as a kid all those years ago. Use any photo that you like please.

Cheers

The third model I've built for the GB was the Airfix 1/76 Tiger. When I built this one originally, circa 1977, I couldn't get the multi part turret to join correctly. With a bit more experience, I found it quite easy. Lol. I've made a bse for this one too, based on the current Airfix box art.

Cheers

I'm loving your Belfast, Bish, You don't see many Airfix ships built these days. I'm looking forward to the Tiger.

Nice to see that red Gnat too. In my mind it's a classic Airfix subject.

Thanks for your comment Chad.

Cheers

Just want to show off the kits I nabbed today. A friend buys collections and resells online. I was helping him sort kits today and he let me pick and choose kits I'd like to have in my stash. Sometime back in another thread folks were discussing the merits of the Airfix Ford Tri-Motor. I'll eventually see how good/bad it really is. I saw the MPC/Airfix F-80 and had to have another one to go with the one already on the shelf. The Gladiator Mk. 1 is an original Airfix bagged kit. Bish, we'll see if the kit is as nice as your recent Gladiator build. Should be fun. I now have the Meteor kit we talked about way back in the spring. Nice kit. Recessed panel lines even. The F-104 and the Widgeon just looked like they would be fun builds. Bish, don't add these kits to the roster. I just wanted to share my good fortune. Not sure if I'll get anything built after the Hellcat drone yet.

I'm going back through the thread as I get time. Bish, the Gladiator is excellent. Piers I really like the Vampire too.

Nice pick up Frank. I have it in mind to try the Airfix F-80.

Frank - what I always liked about the MPC offerings was the fact they came with a few groundcrew figures!

I got most of the decals on the Kate and wanted to do some oil paint weathering. Thes came back to bite me in the rear as when I sarted to remove the oils I also removed some of the base paint....then only did I see I was using thinners and not turpentine !

Luckly not to bad and the affected areas have been reworked so I can get it done within the alloted time.

Pix to follow.
