The maurader is quite a bit smaller than the Warbird Ed. Here is a pic showing both ships...

and another for a greater perspective of the maruaders size...

Khaki Green #3 (according to Mike Starmer's excellent treatise on British WWII scheme's the factory colour) is on. Chipped the cab floor to show some of the wood and faded it in places. Should allow for the cab to be fitted (and engine) and then the cab interior to be added as well as decals for the dials....

Rob you're giving me the itch to start mine! Trouble is I have some group builds and ongoing projects to attend to first.

Having sub assemblies built means it progress in blocks... rear wheel mountings added, air filter, exhaust, steering column and linkage (need to paint the steering wheel and lever then that will be added and then the sides of the cab.

two big milestones today. dry-fitted cab wheels and the cab is on. now all i need is a damn replacement radiator (or to find a way to cover it - some proof of a sadn cover to protect it from a sandstorm would be useful (for any vehicle used by any side in North Africa to be honest).

and the load has re-appeared... really looking forward to starting the painting on this one

Mark,

Nice job on the Romulan and Ferengi!  Either the pics of your next project have been banned or didn't come through.

Dodgy,

Looking forward to seeing your 247 come together.

Rob,

Your Scammell is outstanding!  It's a most interesting build to watch.

Nice GTO Mark are you keeping with the green or changing up the color? I have a 68 Mustang that I'm working on and 10 years later I'm thinking of going with a different color is why I ask.

Actually the green is the second color. I originally painted it white like on the box (30 years ago) but it sort of dulled and yellowed with age and I decided I didn't like it white after all, so I changed to the green which was about 2 years ago. So I'm sticking with it.

I did one many years ago with a can of refrigerator white lacquer so it wouldn't yellow. Stupid me didn't prime and the paint job turned out like junk.

I just realized I never posted the final pics, once I finally got the pilots done!  You can use the last one as the front page gallery pic.

I am hoping this one will get completed in 2021... with my first piece of "proper" soldering I finished the cab. now need to mask everything up and protect the interior of the cab before I can start painting

Looking good Rob, how do you plan on doing the masking? Stuffing the cab with tissue paper?

thats my usual method yes. Kit comes with masking for the windows (will leave the main ones off for now). Will also need to maks the engine (may use the optional bonnet sides for that and then the underneath - tissue or perhaps cling film for that

Cool looking badge Ed. I want to join and finish a shelf queen ....... if I can figure out which one I call a shelf of doom build . Most of mine are ones I just put aside "for the moment"

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I'm not picky Steve so any of the will do. The most important thing is to try and get at least one of them done and have a good time.

GT, any way to divide up the roster by year and /or add  entry and  completion date to roster?
