Nice progress on the Dodge.  Before you know it there will be 4 wheels on it and be covered in mud!

Here's where I'm at:

Waiting for paint on the Mono Zero

MS N awaits. I redid the fuselage and will reposition the wings.

Started all three Monogram P-38s in 2006. I've been in therapy since.

It is time to clear the shelf.

68GT, I'd love to join this group build....I just have so much to chose from.  For now, put me down for a Revell F-4B/J Phantom and/or an Airfix Aichi Val dive bomber, both in 1/72nd scale.  Both are mostly assembled, but lack exterior painting, decals, and final clear coats.  I'll post pictures as soon as possible.

Thanks!

Dave

Dave, welcome aboard and those old Revell Phantoms can come out nice with a little work.  I used CAM Decals on this one.

Those Momogram P-38's are just nasty. Try building a HobbyBoss P-38L. It's any easy build.

Your comments and questions are always welcome.

Some of them older kits can be some real turds but with enough polish they can turn out just fine.  Here is the old Revell Rf-4E and a pair of Monogram Strike Eagles all in 1/72 scale.

GT, thanks. This Dodge is the first part of what is going to eventually be a large diorama I have planned. Depicting the American advance across western Europe post D-Day, it's going to be a big, multi-year project, incorporating this, a Mini-Art European Farmyard, and several other kits, including any or most of the following: WC-5i "Beep" (AFV Club); M4 Early Production Sherman (Tamiya); M10 Tank Destroyer (Tamiya); M8 Greyhound (Tamiya); M4A3 Sherman w/Calliope (Italeri); U.S. Tank Crew (MiniArt); and U.S. Soldiers at Rest (Mini-Art).

Here are some shots of the finished F-5E in Brazilian camo. In the interest of full disclosure this is 100% hand brushed with Vallejo Acrylics.

Several years ago I got a box of ten of these bagged Revell kits at a ridiculously cheap price on Ebay and couldn't pass them up.  The basic kit was used for the set of four Blue Angels/Thunderbirds in a diamond formation kit from the 1970s/80s.  I remember that the cockpit detail was pretty sparse and the aircrew had some weird, astronaught-type helmets.  Still, they built up into some great kits, as evidenced by the one you shared with us here.  Very nicely done!  I have several sets of 'ancient' decals that I am planning to use on these old Phantoms.  I'll just have to start with the first one!

Sprayed real nice!  Funny thing is it almost matches the color of the plastic perfectly.

Good to exercise the airbrush, those WW1 kits get brush painted.

Thanks 68GT, looking forward to it.  Your F4 came out very nicely.  I have an ancient set of "Jolly Roger" decals somewhere, and hope to one day complete one as nice as yours.

68GT: Thanks! It definitely stands out in the display case (or it will when I get a base made to properly pose it "in flight").

freem: Thank you! Looking forward to watching your Zero progress.

AA: Love the Panzer! Nice progress on the Dodge as well, that's going to be an impressive diorama.

Got busy on the bench this week!

Laid out the parts for the M. How could I get so close and not finish?

Gear doors hung and wheels installed, plus elevator balances.

Almost done now, just have to apply decals, weathering, and the windshield.  I decided to forgo the canvas top, as I wanted to fill the back with supplies.  The winch did not come with cable, so I made my own cable and hook:

I had a Future session in the present!Big Smile  Sealed the decals on the Zero and got the F-5 ready for decals! " alt="" />

Also thought the markings for the Zero were probably bogus but the same AC is in Squadron Zero in Actio n book!

I think it's the 1/48 scale Monogram kit.
