Alright, calling the Dodge DONE.  It was a beast to build, but I finally got it looking decent.  Besides adding the scratchbuilt winch cable and hook, I filled the back with stores, both scratchbuilt and from the spares box, and weathered it with Vallejo pigments and artist's pastels.  Hope y'all like it!

The Navy F-4G got some attention tonight.  Maybe tomorrow there will be bombs hanging from the MERs and TERs.

Mustang---that is the 1962 vintage Monogram kit!  Looks good just got no cockpit or wheel well detail.  I did it for the Mafia IV GB but did not make the deadline Super Angry

Thanks GT!  Also got the Monogram P-38M done!  Horrible decals, and the canopies on all three kits I'm doing fit terrible.

Any idea if someone like Squadron has vacumformed ones? Might be easier if there are any out there.

That would be a great thing if someone had a AM canopy.  Why didn't I think of that?

Now I know why all the Mono 38s are posed with open tops! The windscreen fits fine, but the radio stack behind the seat interferes with the back window, and you don't find that out till its too late!  The top is a bit short as are the side windows in width.  Side windows are best cut down to appear to be rolled down (like a car window).  Think I'll chk on vac forms somewhere.

freem: Nice job on the Zero!

68GT: Looks phantastic! (couldn't resist)

I had the opportunity to get in some bench time so I started by using Isopropyl Alcohol and some cotton swabs to remove the start I'd had on the camo because the paint went on too thick.

That done and given time for the alcohol to fully evaporate I started in for a second try at the camo.

Nice and clean now Mach 1.

I started with the decals on this F-4B.  I didnt realize all the stars where separate decals.  Still a bunch more stars to go.

Stars are on.  There are actually 3 different size stars and Aeromaster left us 2 short on the smallest ones.

I've been giving it some thought and was maybe thinking of keeping this as a rolling build.  Maybe I would just change the Badge to be one and include the build year.

What do you guys think?

Otherwise we have 3 months left.

Keeping it a rolling build would be kinda nice. The Jaguar A is the last from the shelf proper, but I've found a few half finished tanks buried in the hoard (while looking for models for other GBs) that I'd like to add here as time permits.

My 2 cents

I'm in the same boat-I have at least half a dozen 'in process' builds ranging in stage of completition-just need the motivation and maybe posting here will be that motivation...I do like the idea of a rolling build each year

As long as there are models to build and modelers to build them there will be "shelves of doom". So a continuous thread makes sense. I know I have several more on that there shelf that I won't get to this year.

If all goes well this weekend, by the beginning of next week I should have something to show. It'll be posted on the World at War 1941 GB. Keeping my fingers crossed here, I hope to have an update on my own "Shelf" entry.

Got about halfway through the second color of the camo. I think I wound up with a bad bottle of paint - it's roughly the consistancy of toothpaste straight from the bottle. Through some experimentation I've been able to thin it to where it's useable, so I'm just running with it to get this thing done.

Nice save with the paint!  The camo looks great.
