68GT I've been giving it some thought and was maybe thinking of keeping this as a rolling build. Maybe I would just change the Badge to be one and include the build year. What do you guys think? Otherwise we have 3 months left.

Defenatly, I have at least one that I can think of but can't get to it right now.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Hi Everyone,
I was given the Czech Model 1/32 T-33A for my birthday in 2012. I put the cockpit and drop tanks together then realised that the fit of the rest of it was, ummmmm, very challenging. It went back into the box until 3 weeks ago when I pulled it out. I'm determined to finish it this time around.
The box art...
The status three weeks ago...
...and some of the recent work. It's fighting me every step of the way :)
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
Sometimes with kits like these its just best to take a bunch of baby steps.
On Ed's bench, ???

Agreed.
Calling the Jaguar A done. Apologies for the shine around the decals - I ran out of clearcoat and need to order some more.
Excellent Mach1, that looks really good. Nice scheme too.
I couldn't live with the jet exhaust in my 1/32 T-33, it just looked terrible. I stuck a grinding bit into it and cut it out, then rebuilt it all with two sizes of brass tube.

Thanks, Tony.
Nice job on the new exhaust. That T-33 is really coming along.
Mach1, nice job on the Jaguare. I didnt notice th shine untill you mentioned it.
taxtp, good save on the exhaust.
Me, I pulled the P-3C back off the shelf.

Thanks 68GT.
Which P3 kit is that, the Hasegawa? I ask because I've been contemplating buying that kit for a while.
Yes, the Hasegawa kit. I've had it since the 80s and started it up when I got back into the hobby. Its an old kit and had some warp issues but will finish it before I start one of the newer ones I have. Not a bad kit overal though!

I have an A-20 to add. I was digging a kit out for another GB and found the mostly assembled fuselage buried away in a box and the rest of the kit in another box. This is the 1/72 MPM A-20 Havoc Russian torpedo bomber. Got it to the bench and it promptly sat on it's tail. I had already added weight to wherever I could, so I cut some clear sprue for a "peg leg" under the tail to glue on after paint and decals.
After a bunch of multicolor camo schemes, it's nice to have a simple paint job for a change. Here's where she sits now with the olive drab almost done.
Finally got the Enterprise detail paint work completed, now applying the gloss coat...
Here are aftermarket decals to be applied...
and the original kit decals, not in too bad a shape...
This is going to be interesting!

On the workbench: Monogram 1/24 '69 Pontiac GTO and a Monogram 1/67 (box scale) B-26 Invader
Mach I - funny how that happens sometimes. I just uncovered a F-18B that I stopped just short of painting for some reason.
Mark - I cant see the pictures from here but I'm glad you got some more work done on the Enterprise.
The Marder III was a bad idea. It's missing too many parts and I don't want to buy another kit. I'll come up with something else.

We'll be here so if you come up with something just jump right in.
Ed,
You can add a 1/72 Airfix Me-109E-4 and a Me-110C to my roster. Probably won't get to the Mustang, but should have those two finished by the end of the year if I push it.
Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.
Updated Lewbud.
Reminds me to start working on an idea for the 2020 badge.
Enterprise update. Most of the decals are on. I screwed up one decal (the only one of that particular decal I have), so I had to order a replacement. But here are a couple of pics...
Still need to add some panel shading to pick out some of the details.
So while waiting for the decals to show up, I am now working on the mounting base.
Here is the base with some decals I had printed up.
Not sure which one to go with, but I am leaning toward the black background. I need to sand the base some more, then prime and paint. Hopefully the decals will arrive soon and I can finally cross this one off the list.
The Enterprise is looking great Mark!
Here's where the Airfix Me-110C-2 is. When I consigned her to the Shelf of Doom years ago, I had painted the splinter camoflage on the upper surfaces, but left the RLM 65 off the underside. Why did I do this? I have no idea as it would have been much easier to paint the underside first and mask it off, rather than having to mask almost the entire airplane. Here's where she was at a couple of days ago.
The wings were masked so I could go back respray the landing gear bays RLM 02. Although it looks gray in the picture, the unmasked area is RLM 65. I painted the landing gear and wheels last night. I should have her on her gear tonight after I get home.
Here's the build thread for the 109.
Here's where I left off some five years ago.
After about an hour, I had something that looked like a plane.
Here is where she sits now.
Had I tried to emulate the mottle pattern as indicated on the instructions, it would have been several excrutiating hours with a piece of .5mm brass wire and RLM 71 to duplicate. I used a microbrush (actually, it was a teeny tiny sponge on a stick) that says it was for cleaning airbrushes. I think it took all of ten minutes to do both sides.
Looking good lewbud keep it going!
Thanks Ed. The 109 is now shiny and ready for decals. Trying out Mission Models gloss and eventually flat on these two. First time to use this brand. We'll see how it goes, looks promising so far.
Well, since this is the eternal, Rolling Shelf of Doom, build, I'd like to enter another oldie that I found in my stash. I had no idea I had ever even begun this, but apparently I had at one time started it by doing some exterior painting, and then that was it. It's a 1/48 scale F-5F Tiger II from Monogram. And I still had the receipt in the box from when I bought it, in 1987 for less than five bucks! $4.92, $5.20 with tax!
The only work I'd done on it, some aggressor camouflage paint scheme:
And the receipt, bought in 1987 for five bucks:
Nice time capsule find. Reminded me that I have an E model I never finished. Ran out of black and never completed the canopy and windshield. Have to get the pitot back on also.
Did some sanding on the P-3C also. Had a week and a half off from work and didnt really get on the bench much till today. Going back to work tomorrow.
While I didn't make the cutoff for 2019, the E-4 is my first one done for 2020. Here are the finished pics. While I haven't tried P-mask's Kabuki tape masks, I will definitely stay away from their vinyl in the future. I lost one of the wing guns to the carpet monster. I wish Airfix had put some thought into their sprue layout so they could minimize the heavy and hard to clean up separation points on some of the smaller parts. The Mission Models Gloss and Flat went on without a hitch, plus there is no smell to them. They will take some getting used to, but I can see me using more of them in the future as their line expands. Now, for the last installment of the E-4 build.
I'm kind of partial to the third pic, but use whichever one you like best. Now, on to the Me-110.
Nice job on the 109E! I'm going to have to try the Mission clears as I'm looking for an alternative to the Testors clears and Future.
The enterprise has left space dock and embarks on another 5 year mission...
And the next on the "shelf", the Enterprise's nemisis (yes, pun intended)...A romulan Warbird with a Ferengi marauder...
Not too much work to do here. clean up a few seams, check the fit of major pieces. The real work will be in the painting, Trying to get a nicely detailed finish. Make it so.
The Enterprise looks great Mark, do you have a preferance of which photo I post up front?
