The Harrier is now ready for priming and painting, just got to mask off the canopy and intakes.
The various doors and hatches will be painted off the kit.
While its in the paint shops, i will start on a weapons loader.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
On the bench: Airfix 1/72nd Harrier GR.3/Fujimi 1/72nd Ju 87D-3
You did not disappoint Theuns, great job! Did the mouth decal cause any settling issues?

"I can't get ahead no matter how hard I try, I'm gettin' really good at barely gettin' by"
That looks like a lot of decals, Theuns, and a good-looking Phantom.
The Harrier's looking good, too, Bish - a possible candidate for me for next year's CAS GB.
Vell, Zaphod's just zis guy, you know?

Glamdring That Tomcat cockpit looks great Plasticjunkie! I am amazed it is a Revell. How much gray did it end up taking to coat it?

Thanks. I used about half bottle of Mission Model Gloss gull gray and it’s a fairly large bottle.
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!
Well done on Harrier, Bish. Looking forward to more!
Thanks Theuns. I need to go through the GB and catch up on what everyone else has done.
Tat is a good looking Harrier :-)
I have done 4 of 1/5 hour sessions of decaling on my F4 and am about 75% done....there are ALLOT of stenling to put on. The shark mouth on the radome took allot of heat and effotr to conform but looks OK.
For some treason my cell phone does not want to comunicate with my laptop anymore so I cant load pix, as soon as I figure out how to do this I will post some
The is one of 2 Harriers i am building while taking a break from the 1/72nd U-Boat.
I'll be adding a resin cockpit as wel as resin exhauts and intakes. First task was to fit the side to the pit and get all the pit parts painted.
With the detail painting done the pit was fited into the nose which was then fitted to the main body of the fuselage.
Then got the kit fitted. There is a large gap behind the cockpit, but thats a resin piece so can't blame that on the kit. In general the fit has been very good.
More soon.
Did some work on the seats. Trying to stay OOB as possible so no extra detailing on the seats since the molded ones are ok. Did some dry rushing to pop things and sliced some thin masking tape pieces to mask the face curtain handles and sprayed yellow paint. The larger scale makes this detail easier to do.
They look very good in the pit
I can’t get over how well the molded instruments were done by Revell yet having a very low price tag compared to the Tamiya one.
The entire airframe is finally painted in gloss gull gray. The Mission Model paint went on kind of orange peeled but self levels to a smooth even finish. Was very pleased how it performed and can be polished with an old soft cotton t shirt for even smoother finish.
Well done gents.
Some progress on the huge cat. Got the added stiffeners and extra details on
The canvas dash covers were made from tissue paper and Elmer’s glue then painted
Next stop, paint
That certainly flew together, well done Hutch!
Type VIIC U-Boat, here are a few pics to update my progress. Hull construction is complete, apart from a few small details (handrails etc.), likewise the conning tower. Painting has commenced, main hull colour is Revell Staubgrau (dust grey), hull sides & conning tower Blaugrau (blue grey), wooden deck surfaces Granitgrau (granite grey). I'm fixing a problem with the conning tower caused by sanding when the Vallejo primer underneath hadn't dried properly, will update again when this is done.
I have the anti fouling red laid down and the haze gray on the side of the hull. Had some seeping issues with my masking tape, I think it will be covered by the waterline anyway so no biggie. I will be getting a better roll to tape before tackling that!
Sorry It is two shots, decluttering my desk for the wide shot seemed like a bridge too far last night.
Looking good, can't wait to see the markings on that Phantom.
I thought the same thing last year, but when I get though the Learning curve of acrylics its a lot easier to clean and strip paint . The paint does go on smooth, I add a drop or two of acrylic thinner but that's just me .
Nick.
On Ed's bench, ???
nice camo, did you use AV or MM ?
I managed to get some painting done on the survivor while everyone was still asleep.
Thanks guys!
Great stuff, Thanks a lot!
That 2nd picture from the bottom really shows the size of that model, what a monster! Well done on the gap filling solution.
Hutch6390 That's a good way to deal with those gaps - top tip! And that kit is a monster - I've got clamps that big, but they're in my woodworking shop! Lovely work so far, I look forward to seeing the end result.

Thanks Hutch. That large clamp is also from my woodworking tools. Like Norm Abram says, “You can never have enough clamps”;so I have several all in different sizes.
The gluing has to be done by small sections to help reduce the gaps. The rear fuselage was not a real problem but the front is a different story. I glued the spine first and it has a good fit but the underside has gaping spaces as you can see in the pictures.
The solution: use my oversized long clamp to close up the gap as much as possible while sandwiching thin plastic sheet to fill and secure with Plast I Weld. Now to let it cure overnight and then release the clamps and continue gluing the side gaps.
The smaller clamps close up the side gaps giving a smooth transition along the join line.
Made some progress on the boat launch deck over the weekend:
Yikes! Well, it's now confirmed that models do not make good chew toys.
68GT Had a bit of a set beck with one of my Phantoms. Or 1 year old rescue pup decided to use it as a chew toy.

OUCH!! Hate when that happens! Can you say battle damage?
