Calling the Osprey done.  Not a bad kit but had it's challenges.  I did her in the markings of the birds that fly overhead on a daily basis out of Miramar MCAS.  The Xtradecals were fantastic, super thin.

Thanks,

John

I finally completed the Puma. Not a bad kit at all. The decals went on rather well. The windoes are a bit fiddly though.

Nice looking Osprey, I go with the mask to be safe.

Whoa that Puma looks bright!  Can't wait to see the decals.

Light ghost gray is on the Osprey.  Two more shades of gray to go - not sure if I'm going to free hand or sausage mask.  The differences are so subtle but overspray here would be a factor.  And BTW - managed to only knock off one of the fiddley bits while handling - success.

Thanks,

John

To catch up with the Puma. I completed the interior, closed the fuse, masked the canopy. I spit with white primer and went over that with a white lower and orange upper. Next comes the decals.

Understand punting on a frustrating kit - see my JHawk Sad

That looks like a great project - love the tigermeet stuff.  Whew she's a little bird in that scale.  Does the kit come with the tiger stripe decals?

Thanks,

John

I've totaly lost my *** on the F-35. The seams required so much sanding that I lost a lot of rivit detail. I'll finish it but not right now. SO I decided to change my entry from the F-35 to a 1/144 Revell Eurocopter Puma with Tigermeet markings.

I started with the interior of course. Next I'll give it a black prime coat and paint the interior colors. I believe I'll use oils on the interior. I want to try some blending that I just can't achieve with acrylics or enamels.

I love the markings John.

Bish, I've rarely seen them but yeah, they are loud.

Nice work there John. I built the same subject a few years back useing the Hase 72nd kit.

They have these based up at RAF Mildenhall and we often see them around here. They make a hell of a noise.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

This squadron is stationed at Miramar which is about 20 miles west of me.  They fly over my house almost daily in full forward mode at a pretty good clip.   The make a prett deep rumble when they fly over.

Thanks,

John

Lostagain - That's a nice build of a rarely seen subject!  A+  Big Smile

Keavdog - That fin marking scheme is most cool!  We have V-22s at KMCAS now and they frequently fly by my house.  They make a weird, unique throbbing sound approaching, which then transitions to more or less an airplane sound as they go by.  But no noticeable "thup-thup-thup" like helicopters.  I notice their engine nacelles are always half transitioned - maybe that is the low speed flight setting?  I wonder if the full down position is only for flat-out runs?

The painting has begun on the V22.  The tails are yellow and a black decal with clear numbers goes over it to reveal yellow on black.  Once dry I'll mask and do the 3 gray scheme.

Thanks,

John

Thanks Mongoose,

Very kind words, almost made me blush! The colours did cause me a few headaches, especially round the compound curves, but really happy with the way it came out.

If you want more bright colours, be sure to join in the Between the Wars GB next year - there are a few colourful planes I have for that one too!
