Hello friends.  After a consultation with Großadmiral Modelcrazy earlier today, and a hefty bribe of Schnitzel und Schnapps, I have been given the green light to bring another addition to the group build.  My next entry will be the 1/35 Bronco Land Wasser Schlepper. Although it looks like a modified tank, she was actually a maritime craft designed and developed to serve its life in many roles including tugboat and floating mobile cargo carrier.  The tracks served her by allowing her to shunt trailers and cargo on land.  The LWS was going to be the workhorse of Operation Sea Lion ferrying barges across the channel and carrying supplies to shore during low tide.

I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. Havent been on here much lately. Life has been crazy. 

I did just buy the new tool Bismarck from Trumpeter, if you could add that to my list on this GB. Havent started on the Konig yet. My North Carolina is still a WIP. But she is getting close! 

As soon as I start working on one or the other of my german BB's I will be posting pics. Some excellent work and talent in here so far! Hope i can relate!

I will probably paint it in the Operation Rheinübung scheme, same as I will do with the Revell kit.

BTW, I saw Andy's Hobby Headquarters open the Yamato turet kit on YouTube. That thing is HUGE!

 

I would guess it does. I would do the one from the box top as i plan on doing my 350 kit in its Baltic scheme with the full strips.

I have been woundering that. According to Bismarck.com, there were 6 different schemes used on the ship. And i can make out 5 different schemes for the turret. Drawing 2 and 4 look the same. 1 and 5 look almost the same apart from the darker barrels on 5. So that could account for the 5 options in the kit.

The box art looks like its in scheme 3 worn during trials in the baltic.

I was wondering about that.

They may also include the Tirpitz markings.

Steve, not sure if you have sen it, but just read a review on that turret on The Modelling News site. Not a lot of info, i am guessing that did not have the kit in hand at time of writing.

It says that 5 different marking options are included and i am guessing this covers the different paint scheme that Bismarck had.

The Spee turned out really well, nice build.

I don't think i wiull get back to the u-boat this side of new year. Need to get another tank done for my British Army GB, thats if these harriers ever get finished.

Nice. I had seen the Yamato one and was hoping they would do a Bismarck. Some how missed kits release. Look forward to seeing how it turns out, i am deffinetly keen on getting one.

Finally I'm finished with the Graf Spee.  There have been a lot of diversions  between house problems and my fight with the V.A. but with my case finally  determined and out of the way, here's my shots of the ship as it awaits its travel to its owner:

I'm debating on starting another ship if I can find something.  I do have the Bismark but Maybe something a little different might be in order, a destroyer or something....

Looks like it says 1/72, so about 5 times the size of a 1/350 turret.

That should be a nice little build.

I can't find any info on the size Chris, but it sure is cool!

How big is that thing? Is there a cutaway on the back side? Looks like it will be a unique display piece!

A little late as to when I said I would post next (that will teach me to try to keep a schedule) on my SMS Kronprinz build.

Rigging is done except simulating the insolators using white glue.  The reference photos I had weren't very helpful so I just used the drawings in the paint diagram that came with the model.  Even then I had to make a few guesses. 

Kinda black and white version.

Using the process of building up and then out I will be adding the railings to upper decks and then work on adding the ship's boats and cutters. Oh ya, I forgot here is close up the 88mm from Shapeways.
