Thanks for the kind words Rob.

I guess I must have dozed off and missed something along the way as I'm sorry but I don't understand what you meant in asking which photo to use. For what purpose?

Stay safe.

For the roster on the front page. Do you have a preference on which photo used?

Top work Jim, she looks a beaut. I just hope that when I do mine it comes out as good! As for the shakes, I know all about those and I share your frustration.

Which photo do you want me to use mate?

OK! I got the pics taken. Now all I have to do is remember how to get them to this post. Here goes.................

Looks like I did it.

Hope they came out.

Toshi, my friend, this is for you. It will be in the very front of my WWII shelf with a dedication plaque that I started to make tonight. Thank you for all your help. My father thanks you too.

Stay safe.

I'm baaaaack! Sorry to be out of touch for so long. Finally got the Corsair almost completely done. The last part to be installed is the part that holds the wing in place to be folded. Have the stbd side in place but just cannot get the port side in place. Have broken 3 other tries at installing it. My shaking hands just cannot hold the part in place with tweezers while adding the glue with the other. I'm not going to do any more attempts as this will only make a mess of the wing and fuselage arrachment points.

As soon as I can get the wifes phone, I will take some pics and post them. Over the years, I got to know Toshi, and I think he would know that I gave the build my best try.

Stay safe.

Dodgy, just make a badge and post it up on the first page. When peeps are complete with thier work they can download the badge to add to thier signature. Nothing more for you to do.

BK

Yeah just put the badge up, it's up to us to figure out what to do with it!

John: Gee friggin' whiz!!!! How did I miss your post!?!??!! Okay, it's months late but outstanding job there! Beautiful work!!! Heart

Lovely work John, she looks a beaut! What photo do you want me to use?

BK this GB has no end date.

A question if I may folks. How do the GB badges work? Do I have to allocate them, or do you do it yourselves?? Sorry for my ignorance.

Well, I am a bit late with this report on my Accurate Miniatures 1/48 SBD-1, and it has been done for awhile.  I've had some health issues for the last 6 months which are now fully resolved and things have kept me distracted.  Here are some finished pictures.  The kit has great detail but it is not what I would call an easy build, for that you want the Hasegawa kit.

Brandon: I know what you mean.. when it rains it pours...

I tried to do some painting, well the rocker arm in the airbrush broke. Ordered a replacement part and replaced it. Then somehow I bent the needle. Then found out somehow I have about five medium needles but not one good medium head. On the other hand I have multiple good heavy heads but not one good heavy needle... Sheeeeeesssssshhhhh.......

Time to take inventory and resupply...we are all struggling with something here.

I'm having the same issue with an AM SBD-1.  Waiting for replacement set from Yellow Wings as the decals in all 3 of the SBD-1 kits I have are doing the same as you are seeing.

Well, this kit is just gonna put up a fight to the bitter end. Today I went and tried to apply the kills and nose art decals to this one since I was decalling my FURY build anyway. Well, the would not lift off the sheet and when I finally got them up they broke. So, off to the spares bin and wouldn't ya know, I have another full set of this AC. Great, they looked better too. Soaked them up and ....surprise, they shattered. Well crap. Off to the net to find a set that are new. Looks like Kits World has this one. Wish me luck.

Okay, with some time away I decided to go ahead and attempt a paint correction. I sanded down the areas where I had issues and repainted the olive drab over those areas. Fortunately, Vallejo paints lay right down over old work and you can't tell. I cut some new masks and reshot the markings. I have a couple tiny touch ups to do now. I am pleased with it now. I can move on.

Not sure if it was ever discussed, but I would like to see this thread left open and running indefinately. I still have at least two kits to build for those who have left us.

Brandon: Ouch! Sorry to hear that- she was coming along so well....

Yeah, I missed the deadline. The friggn' top of the canopy on the P-38 vanished from the box. I looked around for it over the weekend and never found it. I finally just got disgusted and gave up- hopefully I'll have her done something before spring...

Hey Brandon, ouch! I think we have all been in your shoes once or twice!  Reminds me of when i dropped my nearly complete revell a-7 and the wing broke  clean off in a nice jagged line.  That said,  I Never really had an issue with Tamiya & GUNZE combos before,  but I do not use Vallejo either.. hope you can fix it but at times like this it is good to reflect on and remember it's just a hobby right?

The only place the paints lifted was over the Gunze white. Too slick for Tamiya and Vallejo to bond to. If I had painted Gunze over Gunze this would not have happened. I'll sand the call outs and prime and repaint then stecil and it'll be fine. I just need a break for now. I'm not upset, but this one has fought me ever since I closed it up. It'll look good in a few weeks.

Brandon I've had issues with that masking material the type that I'm using looks like that it's called Oramask 810.  The adhesve softened the paint and I couldn't remove it all.  I cut my own masks and prefer tamiya masking which I buy in sheets.
