Thanks Theuns,

Here it is completed after almost 30 hours. The Ki84 Hayate (gale, hurricane, tempest, blast, storm, squall, gust) or to the Allies, Frank. A most beautiful aircraft to my eyes, and from my reading, better than the P-51 when tuned and running on good fuel according to the testera at Wright Patterson

Thanks for running another cool GB. I'll be looking for your next one.

I am adding this tempest to my "Hawkers" collection. Sofar I have (all in 48) Fury, Hurricaine, tempest, still need to build the typhoon. Then I hope to get a hunter and harrier.

OK, this has been one build I did not enjoy atall. The decals were basically useless and I had to see what I could find in the spares box.

Even with gloss clear and sanding with micro mesh some of them still silvered but it is what it is.

Paints are humbrol enamels with alclad matt clearcoat over it all.

Man Im glad this one is done LOL

OK so my tempest was ready for decals and when I tried them they are useless breaking up and being out of register. So in the moeantime I will have to try find a replacement decals sheet but for the rest of the guys please continue posting your builds.

I will kick it off with my old tool eduard 1/48 Tempest. It is quite a simple kit, pitty that most of the cockpit detail will not be visable under the closed canopy. The surface detail is also so very fine I hope it will still show under a coat of paint.

I also got a hasegawa 1/48 Typhoon tht looks like a very nice model, I prefer the bubbletop but this one is the car door one.

Great, I got you up for the Hurri.

I am busy with the same kit but the Mk1b Sea Hurri. The detail in the wheelwells and cockpit is really nice but I had some nasty fit issues on the wingroot to fuse fit and the bottom of the chin cowl, will be interesting to see if yours is better.

Im collecting my temepest kit tomorrow so hopefully I can get started on it soon.

It is not the full bling eduard, just the very basic one but the detail looks nice from what I can see in the reviews

I think lets keep the field "the winds" for now. I recon there are enough interesting subjects to choose from ;-)

I managed to find an old 1/48 Eduard Tempest V (the simple series one) for a good proce so that will be my entry, will be OOB I will just scratchbuild a fe detsils to enhance it. Hoping to get it this  weekend.

Basically anything that is named after a wind is sorts ,be it aircraft, Helo or even armour or cars. I am not aware of any armour or cars named after winds but I stand to be corrected on that.

Wirbelwind/Ostwind

VW Scirrocco

Adding to Real G's reply and from a Road & Track article-

'Many of Volkswagen's most famous models are named after winds. The Golf refers to the Gulf Stream, Jetta is German for "jet stream," Passat means "trade wind," the Scirocco is named after Sirocco, a Mediterranean wind, and the Polo references polar winds.'

I have an AMT VW Sirocco kit in the stash-will give your GB some serious thought.

Actually, put me down for a 1/72 Hasegawa Ki-84 Hayate (Frank). I think I can knock it out in a weekend. In fact, I may hold off building it until the weekend build. I believe someone, if not me, will do it one more time this year in honor of Lewbud.

You bet Theuns. I always like your GB's. How long are you thinking? I believe I can dig out something and that would also fit in another build.

I really like the idea Theuns. But I'm swamped right now. In the first of the year I should have a clean (or sorta) bench and be ready to start on something. Plus I am not sure I can finish anything in three months. Maybe six or so.

My apologies, not trying to tell you how to run your GB but it's just a little strict for me.

I'm sure I could dig out a Hawker Hurricane or a Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate  (Hayate is Japanese for gale aka a strong wind) if those would fit.
