I’ve finally started working on my kit for the build. I haven’t had a lot of interest in building anything for most of the year till a few weeks ago.
For a refresher here is the kit I will be working on. I’ve never built a Pit Road kit before.
Here’s what comes in the box.
The kit has a very basic interior that would take a lot of scratch building to look presentable. Needless to say I’m closing everything up.
After a little work the body and turret are finished more or less. There was a very annoying seam down the middle of the turret. Everything fit together good.
Undercarriage assembled not fit problems just a lot of seams that needed removed and some filling done.
The kit comes with a pretty nice engine even if it doesn’t fit together good.
Here is where I’m at right now.
The body isn’t attached to the undercarriage to make painting easier. There’s a some more filling that needs to be done on the front fenders and the headlights need attached. I should be able to prime this kit soon.
I can’t say I’m impressed with the Pit Road kit. For the price it was the molding in area’s isn’t the best with some soft details and annoying injection pin marks. I feel like this kit was designed by two different people. The molding is really nice in areas and parts snap together without glue and other areas parts don’t fit together well or the molding isn’t good.
