                        I don't know... Hurricane's are bad, but livin' in Tornado Alley ain't a picnic either. A few months ago, a tornado wiped out 90% of a town in SE Nebraska. I think we had tornados every Saturday evening in June in this county. Still haven't been hit by one yet, though I've seen plenty of them. Glad to hear your good fortune Ray.

                        ALL RIGHT Ray!! glad to see you back online friend!! i wasn't sure where St Pete. was, but i knew it was close in there somewhere. Hurricanes are dangerous for me too, i only live about 60 miles inland as the crow flies. we experience hurricane force winds here if we get a direct hit. glad to see you're ok. now get to building!!LOL later.

                        I'm still here!
                        Even though Hurricane Charley was forcasted to hit Tampa?St. Petersburg on Firday, it made an easterly turn literally at the last minute. Areas only 50 miles south of us got hammered! We got a little rain with NO wind. We really lucked out. Already lost one house to hurricane Opal when I was living in Pensacola back in 96, that was enough for this boy.

                        BTW, has anybody heard anything from grenadier? his area was hammered by the hurricane charlie!! devastating news footage coming from it!! comparing it to hurricane andrew!! later.

                        I am going to use an aires cockpit for my corsair. It will be my first Aires set, but I wanted to share something written on the back warnings that is pretty funny.

                        I just picked up Academy's F-14A kit. Just from looking at it, it'll be a nice build. The only negatives about it are horrible decals and inaccurate Phoenix missiles (the nose should be sharply pointed, not blunt). I heard this kit was based on Monogram's molds with some improvements, notably, engraved panel lines and an improved fit design. Hopefully, using Monogram's F-404 nozzles, from their F-14D kit, will fit w/o much difficultity.

                        Hey Braillescale, I like the pic of the A-6!!!! Big Smile [:D] ,to me, nuthin' looks more dramatic than an A-6 launching of the deck with a full loadout of 24 Mark 82 Snakeyes,and a centerline drop tank.That is how I will build mine if I can ever get to it! A Thumbs Up [tup] from me to the guys giving the nod to building the A-6!!. I can't wait to see some pics !!

                        OK, ya got me! I've lurked for months, watching all the GB fun. Can't take it any longer. This subject is my whole modeling focus (USN, USMC & USCG, all 1/72) and my stash subjects me to many snide comments from family. I'd like to join the GB with Tamiya's F4D-1 and the Fujimi A-4C (again, both 1/72). I have a number of others partly built, but this may force me to finish something. That shows what a rookie I really am.

                        Hi folks, at the begining of this thread you will find a somewhat up to date list of the naval aviaiton GB. I apologize for not being totally up to date with names, but we are getting set for a hurricane at the park and here at the house. I know you're going to ask, and the answer is yes - my stash is high and dry and I have plenty of beer and ice. Ah Florida, you got love it!!

                        By the way, nice job on the badge Leon!

                        Hey count me in on this little shindig, I got both in 1/48 the Monogram Devistator, and there F4U-4 Corsair. So what do ya say to lettin an ol WW2 buff in on this build. I finally found a reason to build these two kits I have had in my stash for a while. Aslo note that I can not start my projects until after the 11th of September. So is that ok.?

                        Does anyone have any experience with Academy's F-14A kit? I'm looking to kit-bash it into a B model with Revell/Monogram's F-14D. I'd like to build it as VF-143 'Pukin Dogs' CAG bird.

                        I'd like to jump into this group build as well, if y'all don't mind. This is my first group build, so is there anything I need to know as far as rules go? I'd like to do the big Academy F/A-18C, unless you can't do something that another modeller is working on.

                        Aron, yeah its a bummer. I notice a few months back Sprue Bros. had a mess of the F-4B kit. Wanting one myself for this build I recently dropped them a line only to find out it's now OOP.
                        Fear not my friend, if you can grab the H-gawa F-4C/D from Squadron, it can easily be made into an early B. I have some spare ecm humps if you want to make it an M.The only drawback with this kit is the raised lines.

                        I will update the list today.
                        Leon has a cool badge he put together for us. I asked him to post it so all can take a look and give it thier vote.

                        I'm definitely in on this one, but I'm not sure what I'm going to model. I can't seem to find Hasegawa's 1/48 F-14B anywhere on the net, so I might have to go with a 1/48 Italeri F/A-18F Super Hornet with Black Box's cockpit set. I'll have to look around.
