I got that AM kit while I was out on a bus trip and it looks to be a very nice kit. Yall weren't kidding about all the small little details either! I'm going to put it on the shelf for next year... thanks for the advice!

OK..... I've started my Tamiya F4U Corsair. I've decided to keep my Academy F-14 for the Tomcat GB. I've started adding some PE parts to the interior, and should have some pics in a few days.

haha neither did I... this ties back to the thread about my wife would spend me to the poor house if I let her... I mentioned that one day I wouldn't mind trying the 155 as I'd heard a bit about it on here and seemed like a good detailing brush...

next thing I know she comes out of the bedroom all dressed up and tells me we are going to buy it... I couldn't say no to THAT! At least I held back on the Iwata comment... for now... I'm just curious how all these compare.

The 175 is good, the 155 too... both in different ways...

Yeah i like the heavy feel of the 175 Tho9900, my wife gave it to me for XMAS just gone and after waiting so long for a new A/B it's been in almost constant use.....Jules....

thats why I bought it Jules... it's heavy and it feels like something in my hands... but let me tell ya, if you ever have a birthday/Xmas etc.. come round and ya feel like another one, the 155 is all that!!! very fine lines and smoooooooth trigger. If you lived closer you could borrow mine! I really like this brush... I use both now... and like them both for different reasons... thinking about the Iwata HP-CR for a roundoff...

Almost done on the Corsair... got the landing gear, gear doors and to mount the wings and underwing stores and I am done!! so at the rate I have been progressing about 3 weeks! Laugh [(-D]

BTW: it's Tom Clown [:o)]

Finally got the forward fuselage completed on the Super Bug. I will say I am not so sure I like how Hasegawa has done this. It's in three pieces. They fit well but I had to sand and rescribe twice because of the contours. Otherwise this kit is a beaut. Now comes the easy stuff... maybe I'll be done ahead of schedule for once. How's everyone else progressing?

you mean no one told ya about the shortcut Jules? Wink [;)]

I hope to be finished sooner than that... I think I got too ambitious and have too many models on the deck at once, compared to what is going on in my non-modelling life... been fairly busy at work so come home too tired to model some nights...

Let me know when ya get that spit done and I'll hop on over to the Aussie build and check it out!

Got two hours in on my Super Bug and ta da... got the front main gear done with a little extra detail on the lines. Still feels like I accomplished something major. Maybe I'll reward myself with a Reeses Cup. Better yet, I'll go now and finally get set up on Photobucket so I can share the progress.

Well guys, I am very embarrassed to say this, but I am going to drop out of this build. A long time ago I got excited about the group build idea and signed up for the mustang, nmf, and this one. Well I finished the mustang, and have gotten stuck on the nmf one. Throughout working on them, though, I have discovered that I am very slow and when I struggle I want to put it away and come back later, but the deadline looms over me and sucks the fun out of building. So after coming to this realization, I have decided it would be better to swallow my pride, drop out of the 'official status' and just go back to building and finishing...whenever.

I apologize to all of you, especially grenadierII.

Just an update on the progress of my Tamiya Corsair,

All is going well, The cockpit is complete and the fuselage halves joined. I've got the wing roots attached to the fuselage, but I'm going to do this one with the wings folded, so the rest of the wings will stay off for now. All I've got to do now is add some detail to the engine and do a bit of sanding and it'll be right to go.

This things building itself, so if it turns out looking good, I can't take all the credit. I'm happy with how everythings going at the moment, and I'll hopefully have some pics for your viewing pleasure (?) soon.

Hey newtothegame, sorry to see you go but I think we have all certainly been there before.
pingtang- it's perfectly acceptable to accept all of the credit! Can't wait to see thoise photos!
Hopefully, this evening I will get on board with photobucket- on eastern time in USA it's you can only get an account after 11:00pm. Honestly, I am usually asleep by then or completely engrossed at the workbench. Then FINALLY I can get some photos posted.

Hope to see you around somewhere else Newtothegame. Don't worry about dropping out, we all have to do it at some point. I still havn't gotten any farther on my Wildcat past painting the firewall. With building a SBD, a clipper ship, maintaining my RC planes, repainting the kitchen, painting the garage, work, family etc etc etc..... At some point I may need to sacrifice. But I'm still in for a Jan. 1st finish of both the SBD for the AM build and the Wildcat for this one.

Just checking back...thanks everyone for making me feel like the decision was an ok one. Again I feel bad, but it has already made the building a little less pressure filled for me.

Hope all goes well here and I look forward to still checking in and seeing how it is going for everyone.

How's every one going? I trust all is well.

Work on the corsair has stalled slightly. I'm up to my least favourite part of the build, filling and sanding (though not too much fiiling). Last week I was working on getting my P-47D finished, so its all corsair this week. If all goes well, I should be ready to paint by the weekend.

I think I am going to paint the weapons today and finish assembling the gear and painting them too. I have a little more filling, sanding and re-scribing to do, though not much. Might get a primer coat on this week.

I'm in the same boat as y'all... Chris said it tho... it will all fall together in time. Work has been a real drag lately... a lot of new servers going on the network and not enough time to get them all done... (not as fast as they want them)

I may just change my build if I have to... if it gets too close to the finish date I might just switch to the Tamiya Wildcat or a Revell Bearcat or something a little less detailed... I made the mistake of starting several detailed builds at once with work just kicking up the workload...

How goes it fellas? I'm still in temporary quarters here in Arkansas. Hopefully my house will ready soon and I can get my "stuff" out of storage. I never realized how much I enjoyed my closet until now! Must build soon or ...
