I know Bob... it took me awhile to adjust to the idea too... but since this is the 5th time this year she's been there, I am starting suspect she is just playing for sympathy.. I think all those years of torturing helping patients at Happy Acres has her feeling a little depressed and needing attention herself!

No she hasn't died yet but is very close to it. But we can't lose her, we already lost Lunchalot!

Tom you gotta do something, this place will never be the same, you seem to be the closest to her. (well at least on Fridays you are, I think thursdays are reserved for tweety, or was it jules) I can't rememeber as I am so jealous I don't have 'my' special day with her.Wink [;)]

Word has it that Kremp's death is just a cover. Rumor has it that she has applied for a position as a barmaid at a little joint in Casablanca called Rick's Place.....something about a North Africian Group Build or such....

Hopefully my wife picked up some light blue poster board today so I can make a backdrop, use my new desk lamp and take some photos of the completed He111 to post this weekend. Taxman wasn't nice enough to warrent a new digital camera...yet.

Rick - finally! we have the whole cast of the GB as residents at Happy Acres! Kremps appreciates your sentiments she says, she's still a bit miffed about that night in Thailand when you left her there and flew back to the states solo, she said it took her 37 days to swim back... he had nothing but shark and giant squid to eat along the way...

Tanky - Kremps has been mumbling something about adopting you... watch it though, she had her last adopted son humanely euthanized. Something about him going on the carpet. About the N. Africa GB as far as I know it is armor or aircraft... or anything you want that fought in the campaign...

Bob - I think this is another one of her stunts to get people to say nice things about her... she was spotted in the solarium earlier today doing squats using old Mr. Hinshaw in room 308 as weights... Her Dr. looked shocked when I mentioned gangrene of the gums.,. he explained it was merely psoriasis of the gums and nothing to worry about... I'll let her play her little game out and I thnk we all need to confront her. Tell her we are tired of getting our hearts jerked around like this!

oh yeah! I was so tiffed about Kremps and her little stunt I forgot to send the good news! I got the box with the ultracast wheels and intake for the Typhoon and the wheels and seats for the P-47 for the Latinamerican build... In a separate envelope post marked Mexico (they have some BEAUTIFUL stamps! I may scan them and post them on here... very impressive compared to the santa claus Xmas ornament adorning my latest book of postage) were my decals for the same GB... of the P-47 from escuadron 201 that fought bravely in the PAcific in WWII... so I am ready to go! I was thinking about starting another BoB build if they didnt get here by tonight!

Poor old Kremps eh? I feel sorry for her.

On a brighter note, I have started work on my spitfire. I'm adding PE parts to the cockpit at the moment. I might have a go at some extra detailng on this one, like adding wires and hoses.

I kid of wish I did that on my Martlet Daniel... I will definitely start ordering things on the one I am doing for the N Africa GB... mostly the ultracast seat and tires, and definitely the prop!! thats one thing that didn't sit right with me... the looks of the Tamiya cuffed prop... as far as more I am not sure.. will see what is out there...

And don't feel sorry for Kremps..... the woman has issues and needs help.. this is the last time I feel sorry for her! I even bought her 6 cabbages and a bunch of beets to eat while she was homeless, after getting fired from Happy Acres... and she does THIS to me! she's just looking for attention and I am not going to give it to her!

Fair enough mate. I was gonna go and visit her in hospital as you suggested, but it sounds like she's just trying to get attention. BTW, who's taken over her position at happy acres?

I've been looking at cockpit photos of spitfires all day, and I've come up with all the wires and details I want to add. Problem is, I can't see where to stop, by the time I'm finished, I'll have spent a few months on the cockpit if I add all the stuff I want to. Might as well give it a go eh?

Daniel: Col. Mumford stepped up as of last week.. I'm not sure when they hired him. kind of hard getting used to the the guy... can't get a word in edgewise with him always blabbing about this or that... all those war stories!!! I think he makes it up as I am sure he wasn't in the American Revolutionary war and I know he couldn't have been fighting the Germans in it either!!!

As far as the cockpit.. I say go for it! I love seeing the detail and I always learn off of it!

Daniel, I rarely try to super detail cocpits as it is all so hard to see when the bird is buttoned up, but I truly admire those who do it well. Give it a shot if you wish. Just be sure & post some pics.

Tom, about the Revolutionary War, it was actually possible to be fighting the Germans. The Brits hired German mercenaries (I forget what they were called) to fight the colonials.

yeah Tanky, but that would put Col. Mumford at a spry young age of 226 years old!!!

Hey all-it's done. Based loosely on a drawing from a web site
Here it is.

Overall, a decent offering from Monogram-nice interior detail (a thinner greenhouse would help.) Recessed panel lines, good machine gun detail, 'weighted' tires-not a bad build.

Project summary: Monogram He111-$17.-
Paint, decals, mask-$20.-
Blue poster background $6.-
New Nikon CoolPix 4100 $200.-
Hanging aound with Kremps & the BoB gang-Priceless!

Now there is a bottle of Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout waiting for me in the 'fridge to celebrate.

Cheers

Bob

You GO Bob! Looks great!!! BTW: you might not have known it but that was Kremps favorite brand until she discovered laquer thinner...

I am inspired to build my He111 now... you did great ESPECIALLY because it is a Monogram... the Hasegawa I got looks like it will go together like a champ... if you get the urge to buy another one you ought to check it out! (the canopy looks thin too)

And I didn't know you got the Nikon... those are good cameras! My sister in law does some semi professional stuff and she uses the Nikon digitals..

And for everyone wondering about my photocube, Bob here stole my patented idea Wink [;)] and did somethign very similar... I used white posterboard though and prop blue construction paper up behind it and underneath.. the other wall or walls are plain white to reflect the light better...

Bob - great shots - did you use the macro setting on those? the only thing that might help you is a desk lamp on the opposite side of the photo from that 'half wall' you have with the poster board.. (it will reflect some of the light back toward the lamp that way.. ) but still looks great!!!

Where did you find that scheme? I might have to steal it from you since you took my "patented photo cube" idea from me hahaha...

looks great. Very nice build.

Tom, you never know with those Colonels. Has it ever occured to you that it's alway Colonels that are old ancient war veterans? Never Majors or Captains. I mean it so smooth of the tongue Old Colonel someone or other... Mebbe all the colonels killed everyone else...

Tanky - unless they are Navy.. then it's Old Captain so and so.. the rank is equivalant to Colonel in the Army...

Bobbaily Nice looking build mate. Great work.

Rick I don't know if I'd call what I'm doing super-detailing, just a bit of improvement on the kit parts. I know I probably won't be able to see half of it when I'm done, but I just want to have a go and see if I'm capable of doing it.

I just got the revell e-4/7 kit. 1/48 very nice. it comes with several marking options. One is a BOB bird with a white nose (that's right white) flown by ace Helmut Wick. But I'm going to make mine for possibly the best North African ace there was- Hans Joachim Marseille. If I ever get to this kit, which looking at my stash, I might not.

Tanky Great choice, go the yellow 14 I was planning on doing Academy's Stuart Honey for the NA GB but i figured i would never get a Tank finished in time so i was planning on doing the star of Africa's 109 F/4 trop another Yellow 14, and maybe finishing off my Matilda MK II...........But then again "Killer Caldwell" (Australia's highest scoring ace of WW II) flew Tomohawks in NA as well......
