Well, hope I can jump in. This will be a series of firsts for me having just registered earlier tonight.
My subject will be Tamiya's Aichi M6A1 Seiran in 1/72 scale. My first float plane, first IJN aircraft, first attempt at water, and my first GB.

If you ever get to point of wanting to see the internals, have a look at http://www.kiwiaircraftimages.com/sundland.html ... the pics provided are of a Clipper air liner, but I can't imagine the instrumentation would be greatly changed?

1/48 Sunderland -- Fonderie is supposed to have one on the drawing boards .... I pre-ordered from GreatModels last year, then thought better about it & cancelled. Have seen nothing since then.

Anyway, after much discussion with myself, I think I'll stick with the Felixstowe, I have too many things gpoing on to get really organized on Sunderland interior research at this time.

Well, I got the mavis out of storage and have started my planning the project. I've been playing with my airbrush and compressor to get a feel for the airflow and paint mixture.

For the 1/48 Sutheland, Combat Models produced a vac kit. So, nmayhew, if you're serious.............. Wink [;)]

Hey Aurora-7,

I think I would like to participate - this being my first group build.

I will choose to do Heller's 1/72 scale Canadair CL-215 air tanker. I will finish it in the livery of my Provincial Forestry Service using decals from Leading Edge Models.

OK guys ... think you have me hooked. I have a ProModeller 1/48 PBY Cat to be done. I will probably do pretty much OOB, unless I can source me some 1/48 scale RNZAF decals for the kit - to keep with my passion for RNZAF aircraft.

Am I accepted?

P.S. - On the hunt for the old Aeromaster RNZAF decal set (SP48-10 I think it is)... Anyone have one hiding in their back filing cabinet they would be willing to sell????

If I let anyone from my family get me something its more likely to be something that I don't need , although the thought does counts . I get money now .

Still waiting for the canopy from squadron , I recieved the invoice from them but the canopy is been shipped surface mail it may be a couple more weeks before I see it I hope its worth it..

Aurora-7 I'am also going to build the PBY-5A black cat academy 1/72 ..but the main build will be the sutherland..

Head's up for the next issue of Air & Space Magazine: It'll have an article on Kingfishers as naval artillery spotters durring WWII.

Not the issue at the news stands now but the one that'll be available in January.

I have the True Details set and was trying to decide wether to use it in the pro-modeler -5A kit or the -5 kit. I think the pro-modeler is pretty good without it and the -5 kit could use it more.

Has anyone seen the True Details resin cockpit set for the 1/48 Catalina??? Is it worth installing in the Pro Modeler kit??? Just wondering. The kit has great detail anyhow. I have the canopy mask set which will help a ton. My get resin wheels. The kit ones are bit soft on detail. Thanks!!!! Big Smile [:D]
