                        closest scale, but hard 2 find in the US, u may have 2 go w/ HO scale (1/87) figures

                        Rob, any one who is willing to tackle a Mach 2 kit has to have some big ones. It's looking like you are making good progress but that nose turret looks a little odd, like it sets in too far.

                        Model Grandpa - Thanks. Now that my fiance bought a new digital camera posting more pics won't be a problem

                        Since fiting the halves together I am now filing all of the seams with putty and sanding them down. After that I'll fit the wings on and then fill the huge gaps that will cause between the wings and fuselage.

                        Just figured out the whole pic posting thing and I wanted to show you my progress so far on my 1/72 Mach 2 Mariner. This is definitely my most challenging build to date. A ton of fit and flash problems. Most of my time has been spent sanding and filing.

                        I'll make a 1/72 Spitfire Mk. IX Floatplane.

                        It's the 1/72 PM-models Sptfire Mk.V Floatplane mixed with the Revell Spitfire Mk.Vb...
                        Some kind of conversion, I'm going to use the PM spinner, prop, nose, tailrudder and floats...
                        And all the rest from the really nice and cheap Revell kit...

                        Model Grandpa, the Herc looks darn good! I saw 'The Aviator' on Saturday and I tried to take note of the coclpit colors. It looked like natural metal or silver.

                        Quagmyer, the Catfish looks like a beauty! The design has a surreal look to it.

                        Swanny, Igor would be proud!

                        John, your Felixstowe looks as complicated as the real one!

                        Geez it takes a lot of time to mask up the Catalina!! And I think I have the weighting problem resolved ... careful placement of fishing weights Smile [:)]

                        Hopefully close it up over the coming weekend, and get the airbrush cracking on the outside colour scheme!!

                        Got a lot of work done on my Mariner this weekend. I've probably spent about 30 hours on her so far with about 85% of that on sanding/fitting the parts together. I'd guess that I am about 25%-30% done with the build. Once I have some spare time at home I will upload some pics, hopefully be the end of the week.

                        Nice build, Quagmyre!

                        Well folks, as I feared, my general snail-like build pace has forced me to put my Herc on the back burner while I concentrate on getting my Aurora 1/48 MBT-70 finished in time for the Shizuoka Hobby Show starting May 13th. The kicker is that I'll be in the States for 2 1/2 weeks during April, so there goes all that time...hopefully I can get the MBT-70 finished quickly AND get the Herc done by May 1st!
