Jason,

Very nice Avenger, so far [even with masks on the windscreen], I'll get around to finishing mine "one day", I have one in RNZAF 'Plonky' markings and another in the build stage as a RNFAA bird.

Jason: And here was me thinking you had built the Avenger rigged for Instrument Flying lessons Wink [;)]. Nice job mate - hope mine measures up as good as yours.

Joe: Nice bird as well ...

And as for me ... must be something about the turn of the year. The knife came out ... sprues were cut ... brushes dipped in paint. The Dauntless is underway. I spent a good six hours on it yesterday, and am very happy with the way the cockpit and observers gun came up.

And bless my wife ... she is letting me have more time today!!! My plans today are to attack the wings. I am intending cutting out the dive brakes, and drilling out each of the holes. So it might take a LOT of time, for little obvious, immediate progress. However, the final product will be worth it Smile [:)].

I am taking pictures as I go, and will get them posted as soon as possible (or as soon as I set myself up on a hosting site).

Some fantastic builds going on here!!

I finished my Zero on the 30th, went to take some pics today and for some reason it just didn't 'click' for me.

I did some heavy paint wear on it, trying to imagine how coral and sand would have acted like a sand blaster on a/c, and didn't even consider sun faded paint.Dunce [D)]

So back to the booth for some touch upSad [:(]

Hopefully will have pics soon.

Hey ya'll,

Is it too late to jump in? I got a Tamiya 1/48 Wildcat for Christmas and want to start on it. VMF-223 is one of the decal variations that I wanted to do. Thanks!

I would clear coat, adds a little more protection to your original paint job.

Do you guys realise how many holes there are in the dive brakes of an SBD???? And I only got the top brakes done todaySad [:(] The lower brakes still to go. Reminds me of a song by the Beatles!!! I think I know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall [:S]

Still have to set up a hosting site ... maybe tomorrow ...
