I got the Dauntless photos thanks. Were those the ones you were referring to?

Also it is the AM George Busg Avenger, so "Plonky" should be just fine Wink [;)]

Great models too by the way - like the dio you did with the life raft.

The photo's that I was given, to which some have been posted here, are in 2 groups of 10 each on Aircraft and 10 of Armour. the subjects are as follows:-

Hey all-I'm signed up on the first page for a SBD-2. Does anyone mind if I change that to a P-40C (Academy 1/48th)? Just got it yesterday-interior detail is lacking but my goal is to create a very weathered plane. Hope to get started in a couple of weeks aftet I finish up on the BoB GB.

Thanks for the kind words on the Jill. The chipping efect is done with a silver ink pen, sadly most of the wing scratching, will be covered up when the outer wings are fixed in the folded position.

The Aircraft in the second photo is a 48 scale Monagran Classic of the Kingfisher, the other aircraft photo's that I did not post on the forum from the Expo, cover several Fw 190D9's in various AM enhancements, 2 x F4f Wildcat's one of which is AM enhanced and a A1-h Skyraider, of the Vietnam era, also AM enhanced.

Progressed a little futher with the 'Jill' to, which I'm posting new pix of what is covered up when the wings are loded, the 'Glasshouse is and was a pain not only in masking but getting the masking off, here is what I've done so far and their is still away to go.

[edit] Belay the above. I just nabbed Italeri's LVT(A)-1 Alligator on eBay. If it's alright, I'll just change subjects instead. CGM's Ford GTB truck is a really nice kit, and it deserves to wait until I can do it justice. Right now I can't bear to even look at a tube of superglue. Dead [xx(]

Rob, Jason and Paul. Your builds are all looking great. Thanks for the extra pics as well Rob. I was in my LHS yesterday and they have the 1/32 Trumpeter TBM-3 (but I don't have $170 Canadian Grumpy [|(]

). You guys are sure making me want to do a dive bomber though. Oh well, first things first. Need to get back to the Essex and finish it up. Keep up the good work guys.

No objection this end, don't use the AeroMaster decals For 'Plonky', they are wrong, if your Acc Min TBF/M is the Goerge Bush version, it has a true set for 'Plonky' as the option of the kit. If not let me know and I'll get some for you.

With your PBY Catalina, do you require a cockpit detail set for it and would some RAAF Catalina pix help ?. About 8 shots ?.
The Kiwi pix of the Catalina are: 2x air to air, 3x ground and 3x water [1of which is a landing shot]

Rob - yes - thanks to Rick (rjkplastic) I got my hands on to a set of RNZAF Catalina markings out of the elusive Aeromaster SP48-010 pack. So I am very lucky to be able to apply those to my ProModeler PBY!! Thanks for the steer on cleanliness - over in New Zealand, there was for years advertising campaigns about being a "Tidy Kiwi" - perhaps the advertising line had its roots in their wartime aircraft care!!! Wink [;)]

NAH!!!!!!

Actually, progressing as this build is (and also not having my BoB kit turn up yet!!), I might even attempt a second kit for this build. I have an RNZAF (Accurate Miniatures) TBF/M Avenger on the shelf. Any objections anyone???

Nice job on the SBD so far, as for the trailing antenia, use invisithread to make them and they were usually black.
The pix on the RNZAF I'll put them together over the weekend for you, incidently are you doing your PBY-5a in Kiwi Markings ?

Note:

Kiwi aircraft during their service life in the Soloman Islands were kept fairly clean regardlees of their combat operations.

Jay and Rob - Great progress guys!!

Rob - if it is not too much of a problem, I really would appreciate those photos - thank you very much!!

Decals are on, nicely nestled into place. Left them yesterday to settle a little further, and will re-Pledge over the weekend, prior to (minor) weathering - perhaps some exhaust staining, and line enhancement.

(apologies for the glare [:S])

Actually - just a question for you all ... what material were the aerial cables made of? And what colour would they have been??
