Guys,
Had gremlins in the system and only just it back from the doctors [pricey blighter's], so now on top of my admin duties with the other part of my model building and resin business, along with kicking butt I got to do a bit more to my 'Jill' and I'll have some pix posted shortly.
Jeeves,
From the photo's I've looked through on torpedo's that had plywood fins, they all seemed to be just bare timber and where designed to come of once the torpedo hit the water from an aircraft launch.
I hope this helps alittle.
Paul,
Your welcome, it was AeroMaster that got it wrong, I've found several wartime Kiwi aircraft pix covering almost all their birds of the time, 31 in all with 8 on the Catalina, I can scan for you if you would like them.
Roy,
With the ammo belts for either the 50 or 30 cals, glue the kit belts to some foil, [similar to the seal on a coffee tin, or a foil baking tin] ,, with some CA glue and when dry bend them to shape.
