                        And as for me ... must be something about the turn of the year. The knife came out ... sprues were cut ... brushes dipped in paint. The Dauntless is underway. I spent a good six hours on it yesterday, and am very happy with the way the cockpit and observers gun came up.

                        And bless my wife ... she is letting me have more time today!!! My plans today are to attack the wings. I am intending cutting out the dive brakes, and drilling out each of the holes. So it might take a LOT of time, for little obvious, immediate progress. However, the final product will be worth it Smile [:)].

                        I am taking pictures as I go, and will get them posted as soon as possible (or as soon as I set myself up on a hosting site).

                        Very nice Avenger, so far [even with masks on the windscreen], I'll get around to finishing mine "one day", I have one in RNZAF 'Plonky' markings and another in the build stage as a RNFAA bird.

                        Happy New Year to all.

                        Here is something totally unrelated to this GB build, it's another of those RAAF contract builds [hand over is in 3 weeks] it's a mid 60's scheme applied to a C 47, both a photo of the real thing and the model [as A65-118], in 48 scale to date. The desk is a mess I know, to many projects on the go at once, the instruction sheet to the bottom left is to the Tamiya 1/48 Fw 190A3, the instruction sheet to the top right is a 32 scale Beaufighter Mk Inf, which has been converted to the Aussie Mk XXI, this build is for 30 Sqn RAAF [Beaufighter Associasion].

                        well folks here she is now, at about 90% complete, it's net grey with olive drab on top and i airbrushed ( good i love this thing) the both top edges of the wing and rear stab. with a dark green ) or course it's hard to see in the pics. the canopies were dipped, masked then attached before painting. It took a week to paint it so i was worried the masking tape would pull the future off, thank god it didn't. Decals were laid down over a coat of Future then sealed with the same. I held the airbrush back a little further and sprayed a light coat and ended up with a satin finish. i don't think i'll spray a coat of flat. New years weekend coming up so i hope i can finish it off because i have two other GB that start Jan 1 that i should at least start. I did see a Monogram Zero at the shop the other day that i might go and pick up later in Jan.

                        For the rigging on 'Pete' I used metrolene a polyester thread [used for sewing], drilled the lower outer lower end and CA glued each in place, the lower fuselage end is just placed under the bracing bracket and each end was trimmed with glued in place.
