Lobbie,

GREAT Cat!! Spectacular - even in the photos. At some stage, I would love to hear you expound on your weathering technique - VERY realistic.

I, too, have not yet started on my build - being a late entrant, and with heaps on at work leading up to the Xmas break.

hello folk's, here's my weekly update. got alot of build time in this weekend so it now actually looks like a plane instead of a flying wing that it has for the last few weeks. here's the picks. by the way, you can probably see that corny orange paint holder ot Testor's fame. Well i finally have an airbrush and compressor (early X-mas gift). It's an Aztec A-370 and the kit came with that paint tray so i'm using it to keep the wife happy ( it was her gift to me) until i can think of another paint storage plan. anyway enough rambling. her she is now. the props were just placed there for the pic

here's what the open nose will look like. i just rested the other door on there. i didn't like the kit's hinge so i made my own using short pieces of small brass rod bent and super glued in place.

by the way whoever it was that said i'd have to weigh the nose down wasn't kidding. i had to put lead in both engine's and the nose to get here off her tail.
oh ya one more thing. i won't be building Maj. Bong's AC. It's instead going to be a regular P-38. Olive Drab and Net. Grey with the green molt camo, hey i want to try out my airbrushBig Smile [:D]

Joe,

Progressing on this build well, your 'added' detail, makes a little difference and looks good so far, can't wait to see this one done.

Thad,

Excellent build, [I know the kit, have one 'somewhere'], what do you mean your not good at it, weathering on your model looks fine to me.

NOTE:
Here is something relating to weathering that was built for the RAAF's Officer Training School, the OTS Liason Officer convinced me to enter this in an open competition, it was never judged, in that competition. - it has been posted on the forum earlier this year.

This is the wartime photo that the RAAF gave me to build their 48 scale Catalina into

These two pix are my interpretation of the B+W photo into the replicatiom of the model

cossack,

You'd be welcome to join in this GB, your subject choice will add variety.

Guy's,

A mug shot of Rob [aka Lobbie] has been posted on the first page as a bet, if you think it should be removed let me know, the bet is with one of my Scale Magic co Founder's, not known to the forum. It's an Xmas thing.

can anyone tell me if the M18 hellcat tank destroyers were used in the Pacific? I'm getting one for Christmas and if accurate i'd like to build a pacific hellcat. but i don't know if they were deployed in the pacific.
