Guy's,

I was have a discusion with another member earlier today about putting our 'Mug' shots up on this forum, I was informed that it sounded a good idea, so I put it to you people.

Also I have the album organized, so that all of the GB subject models can be placed together.

gdarwin,

It's a pity that the 105 for the DUKW is a bit worped, a couple of tips, from my own expeirence with this sort of problem, apply glue to both halves and join them together, at one end clamp with a clothes peg progress to the opposite end, using rubber bands to hold the plastic in place, place in grease proof paper as a sandwich filling and place a book over it on a flat surface.

Or:- If the barrel is badly worped cut it off and substitute it with a length of brass tube, then assemble the breach part of the field gun.

Picked up the Accurate Miniature SBD-2 Midway kit that the wife is giving me for Christmas-which means I won't get started until Dec.25th at the earliest! And based on the research I've been doing, it will probably take me until May 31to finish!

Daniel,

The Green mottle is a cammo that was aplied, to some Pacific theatre birds as a meens of breaking the outline, some RAAF KittyHawk IV's [P 40 M/N's] had the mottle aplied to the main wings.

Looks good Rob. Is the green mottle pattern supposed to be camo or is it weathering? Keep up the good work.

Guy's,

I don't think they will, but at least 4 of these are mine, the B 24 is a contract for the RAAF Officer Training School, in Feb 2005 the second group of 46 builds will comence, which when completed [in 2007], will total 84 models,

This is the progress on the A20g

I'm yet to paint the Middle Blue on both the nose and tail.

Hey Lobbie, slow down!!

At the rate you're going you are going to build more models than everyone else put together before this thing is over. LOL!!

Seriously though your half finished your 5 models and I finally pulled out my Essex carrier tonight and got started. That PE set is going to give me fits.

gdarwin,

The builds are progressing well, the A20g has had the Green mottle and clear coat applied and should have it's decals on by tonight, the IJN aircraft are going together, as their all the same colour I'll paint them when the last one is built.

Glad to help with the 105 answer.

gdarwin,

Your DUKW/105, this would be open to the modeller's interpretation of whatever your model is depicting.
I am basing this on my Military experience, once enbarked it would be in the firing position for support of groud troops, I haven't built the DUKW with the 105 and that would be how I would build mine, when the time came to do so. I have only 80% built the standard DUKW.

I hope this helps a little

Tanker,

With your idea of the GPA being in water for whatever period, to make realist rust, using an old steel wool pad and leave soaked in water for however period, when your steel wool pad turns to rust, grind it into a powder. To adhere this rust to your model use some gloss coat applied by cotton bud, or tooth pick and then dap the rust onto the clear painted area and let dry.
To give the appearence of a vehicle that has just come out of the water, paint a semi gloss clear over where you think the water line would be.
Your build is looking good so far.
I hope this helps a little

Hey guys!

Is it too late to join this GB??

I've got a Hasegawa A6M5 Zero, 1/48 scale ,with some PE bits that has been gathreing dust for a year now.
Would be great to actually get it outta the box and start building her.

G'day Folk's,

I've progressed to the camo stage of the A20g, I've yet to apply the Mid Blue on the nose and Tail or the Green blotch's, or paint the raft that I intend to install behind the pilot seat, also notice that I've added the pitot tube to the tail of this bird [this is missing from the kit].
The conopy on this bird will be in the open position, hence why it is not in the pix. The paints used on this bird are from the Humbrol range with exception of the Neutral Grey [which is from their OOP Authentic Aircraft Paint range], the OD is # 155, the Green 42 bloches, when applied is also from the Authentic Aircraft Paint range, in interior cockpit colour is from the Xtra Colour range of U.S. WW II aircraft. The engine Cylinders have been painted with Hundol #201, the Crankcase is painted with Humbrol # 5

The harness buckles have been painted with an silver gel ink pen, I've also replicated the paint scratchs on the seat.

Guy's,

I can't put any progress shots of my Rabaul Zero, so I've spoken to Rob and have decided to the build and pass the completed model to Rob to photograph and post the photo's for me.
Sadly this will be the last model I will be doing for a long time, as I've decided the family is a higher priority for the moment, as Rob knows my situation and reasons for the lay off, from model building.

As I'm the junior partner in Scale Magic with Rob and Wayne, as these two are the most helpfull and trusted people I have the privalige to be associated with, another thing Rob, all those builds and contracts youve got going, when will they be finished.
