It’s official; it’s time to start the Before & After Group Build! I promise to come up with a badge in the next day or two.
Well after briefly considering a change from my original idea I have decided to run with it.
My first diorama will be a pretty basic offering of a WWII Japanese Pacific airbase. 2 aircraft, 1 vehicle, several figures and misc. other “props.” The vehicle will be servicing a two engine aircraft and there will be a single engine aircraft reading for take off. The figures will be positioned so as to be looking/reacting to a point somewhere off the scene. I hope to covey the feeling of an Allied air attack coming in from off the scene.
The second diorama will be many years later. It will consist of the two engine aircraft and the vehicle from the first diorama. The original plane and vehicle will be in a state of disrepair and the jungle will have encroached on the scene. I will add a second vehicle, a jeep, to this diorama. It will have three figures, a native islander, a man and a woman. They will be standing in the same area that the bulk of the Japanese figures were. The native “guide” will be pointing to the same point that had the attention of the figures from the first diorama, and the man and woman’s gaze will be fixed that way. This diorama will represent early “adventure tourism.”
I know that the jungle may have completely taking over the vehicles from the time period of the first diorama to the second but some “artistic’ license will be taken.
Ok…lets hear about some of your plans and ideas for this build! Richard & Dan, I like your ideas and can't wait to see your progress.
Good luck and have fun everyone.
