I would also like to take part in this build with the Italeri Puma kit. I did not know if it was used by the 12ss recon (I posted this early in this GB thread in armor) but I found 2 references that show that the Puma was used.
SS Reconnaissance Battalion 12

BN HQ Armored Car Troops: Unavailable (short) Probably 2x222 light and

1x232 heavy armored cars

Armored Car Recon Coy

2x222 Armored Cars, 1x232 Armored Car
and a reference on a Missing Links article on the Italeri Puma.

Bernage, George and Meyer, Hubert, 12SS Panzer Division HitlerJugend. Editions Heimdal, 1994.
(An excellent factory shot of a production Puma, showing the gun cleaning rod rack)
Sorry for the lenghty post but I wanted to show that the Puma was used.
Anways, I'd like to do the Puma.
Edit: For the badge I think it should be the 12ss symbol (the key and such) with whatever words you guys choose. The German of Blood and Honor would make it more interesting I think. My two cents

I'd like to sign up for this one if I may. I am not a very good armor modeller, but it will give me a chance to improve...I have a couple of different kits that I can dig out and build, so give me a day or so to figure out what I can do. I understand completely where you are coming from with this build. Thanks.

Hey everyone!! Welcome to the 12SS Group Build. This build's is focused on the 12 SS Hitlerjugend, or Hitler Youth, Panzer Division, which fought for Nazi Germany during World War II. Made up mostly of teenagers and younger men, this unit is an example of what the Nazi's were willing to do to stay in power. Thousands of children in this division, some not older than 14 or so, fought and died for the mad ideals of Hitler and his henchmen.

This group build is not meant to glorify war, or the ideals of the Nazi party, nor is it affiliated with the Nazi's or any other such organization. The point of this Group Build is to pay somber respect for a generation of children who lost everything due to the deceit and insanity of a tyranical regime. It is also to honor those men and women who fought this regime, bringing freedom to people across the world, and restoring truth and humanity to those who had been blinded by lies.

Of course we're also here to build some great models of the vehicles used by the 12 SS, and so if you're looking for something new to build in an interesting subject, join right in!

Firstly, here are the rules:
1.) Have fun
2.) You can build any armored/softskin vehicle/equipment used by the 12 SS division, but only those vehicles that were in the 12SS.
EX: u can build a panther A, which was used, but only in 12 SS markings.
3.) a figure(s) as a build is permissable
4.) any scale is permissable
5.) no fantasy stuff
6.) NO Builds from other Group Builds- unless the other build being entered allows it. otherwise, don't cheat with the GB thing, its unfair to those who do individual builds for each GB they're in.
7.) once we have enough people in on the build, there'll be a concensus on exactly when the end date will be
8.) you should post at least one update on how your build is goin during the build time, and at least once at the end to say how it went and how it looks. pics are cool, but arent necessary
9.) you can come into the build whenever, no matter how close to the end. just be sure you can finish your build by the end date
10.) follow the rules and limits of the general FSM Forum. you know wut Im talkin about, and it should go without saying.
11.) after all tht stuff, again jst have funBig Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Cool [8D].

the bottom says: 12SS Hitlerjugend Group Build: 2005

both versions are available if u want, but if yer in a lot of othr GB's, id suggest the 65 squared version:

65sq.: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v625/gringe88/FSM%20Group%20Build%20Badges/untitled12.bmp

contact me if u hav NE problems

One further update...

As there's been limited posting for a while, I've extended the end date, assuming that people have been busy lately and/or have had to finish other builds. An end date has not been set as of yet, and if you need extra time, or are not sure of how long your build will take, just post here and let me know. It's not that big of a deal as long as you let me know if you'll be a while.

happy buildingCool [8D]
and remeber....
