Ok so next year North atlantic GBThumbs Up [tup] but like Jeevessaid i'd like to take a break and not join a 100 GB's in the meantime, next year i think i'll limit myself to only 2 or 3 so i can get some bigger projects doneThumbs Up [tup]

Tom My havn't we been a busy Texan lately, pics everywhere, isn't it cool when your on a building binge.......
BTW great looking Stuka, should be finished soon ehThumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Pingy Yeah mate i think black might be to strong for a wash on my 109G cause it has no green spots to break the colour, i might mix a little brown with some black to tone it down a little...........

Looking good Jules! I see Kremps has been by your place as well lending a hand! And yeah... yesterday felt good.. got a LOT done on several kits!!!

Daniel - it's the Monogram Promodeler kit, the same one as the Hasegawa -R2 stuka... I recommend it. Goes together like a charm.... just put the engine nacelle on FIRST and mask the propeller! Wink [;)]

Tanky - woohoo! you're going to be the Dremel king of the block! Just don't try to engrave your headboard or anything.... mom's don't like that...

Bob - I have made an agreement with myself that there will be no more GB's for me until the Atlantic one... I might be able to keep it! Wink [;)]

Thanks to the group for your kind words... I am thinking of doing some touch up on the Ju87 in preparation for decaling in a bit.. I really havent made up my mind yet. I may just take next monday off as well just to get some modeling in!

Tom-the thing that is worrying me is that I'm checking out prospects for a second NA build and haven't started on the first one yet! And there is that long gap between the NA end date (Sept. 30) and the start of the North Atlantic or BoB.....Big Smile [:D]

Tom great job on your Stuka so far, the cockpit looks really nicely detailed and painted Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]. Please post some more picture soon.

WOW Jules that looks superb, great job mate I can't wait to see it finished Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup].

:::Progress Update:::
I haven't had a lot of modeling time at the moment (or online time for that matter) so I am trying to polish of one or two of the GB's I'm in before I progress any further with the others. My 109 hasn't progressed much over the last couple of days but I have just about finished (construction) of the 1/48 Kubelwagen that I plan to include in a small dio, well that the plan anyway. BTW the Tam Kubelwagen is a great little kit that is just made for posing next to an aircraft.

OK I may have changed my mind already for the North Atlantic GB. This aircraft is from 450 squadron RAAF, which operated under RAF Costal Command and has an Aussie flag on the port side of the nose.

I have the kit, the decals and the resin cockpit, all I need now is a date to start.

Cheers
Darren

Darren I know the feeling, I still haven't completed the Hurricane from the BoB build!!

The Beau looks great, really mean and purposeful.

Progress Update Sudenly realised that the HC kit has no navigation lights, not even a molded outline, so filed out two notches on either wing tip, before super glueing a couple of pieces of clear sprue.

This is how it started out......

..and what it looked like after being attacked with various files, papers and polishing cloths. Dead easy, but looks a million times better than them not being there.

Wing joint is still undergoing work, hence mass of putty, in this case Mr White by Gunze, which I'm really starting to like as it is harder than the Humbrol stuff I normally use.

Slow progress but getting there.

Jules - sweet looking 109. Your pics are about the same place that I'm at with my 109. I have the decals on, and will be sealing them tomorrow night.

Again sweet looking 109!!!

ok I've got my motivation back... I think it took this last weekend with the wife at karate all day and having uninterrupted time to get me back inthe swing.

I started putting decals on the Ju87 today, didn't get very far but it's a start! I have the feeling Monogram contraced a different decal company for the set with this kit than Hasegawa did. I've heard and seen about delicate Hasegawa decals falling apart etc... well these are like shoe rubber! I don't even think solvaset could hurt these... I hope they lay down more as they are tight with the fuselage but looking a bit thick. I can definetly see me building another of these with aftermarket decals in the future... and that Eduard ZOOM PE kit...

from the top:

from the side, notice on that fuel warning stencil how thick it is at the edges:

Well on to hop around the web a bit... hope to have more tomorrow!

Karl looks like your taming the beast mateThumbs Up [tup] I'ts gonna be one nice build when it's finished but i can't get over that blue interior, what is it with the French and the colour Blue............
Tom Thats looking really niceThumbs Up [tup] A good solution to thick decals that won't conform to the panel lines is to lightly run a nice sharp hobby knife over the decals where the panel lines are and then hit it with solution, Tweets put me on to that one and it works like a charm...........
BTW Tweety i'll be using the standard flat coat on my 109, "Pollyscale acrylic"...

Thanks everyone for the kinds words about my 109 G2 but i really is a "Shake and Bake" buildThumbs Up [tup]
And it's good to see that your all looking forward to and planning for the Atlantic build, I think i made a little mistake when typing the post though, my intention was to cover the whole Atlantic not just the North Atlantic so i guess the GB will be the Battle of the Atlantic GB..............

Matt good to hear your making progressThumbs Up [tup] I gave mine a wash yesterday with a burnt umber type of colour that i mixed with watercolour pencils and it came out really nice............
BTW i have a colour plate of the Particular Yellow 14 that your building, so i'm looking forward to seeing your build finishedThumbs Up [tup]

Looking good Tom and Karl. Keep up the good work.

Jules We all know that the colour blue symbolises great sporting talent (especially in the case of rugby leagueWink [;)]). The french aren't particularly good at sport, but they want everyone else to think they are (unlike NSW). They could have worn maroon, but they don't want to look like idiots.......Tongue [:P]

Tanky - looking forward to it!!!

Jules - funny thing is they went down in the panel lines ok... they're just visibly thick... hopefully the final coat of future will lessen the effect some, or maybe it's just me imagining things? haha wouldnt be the first time!

Rick/Daniel - thanks! It's an ok build but I could have done better... I do plan to do another of these sometime soon!

Pingy, mate denial is a serious mental problem, i'm gonna have to ask "Nurse Kremps" to up your meds cause the rest of us already know that QLD have it won this yearThumbs Up [tup]

Tom the fueselage crosses were a little thick on the 109 to but with a couple of good coats of future and then 2 coats of flat have made it unnoticable..........

Progress Report::::::::::: pics coming later on today...........

Jules, mate denial is a serious mental problem, I'm gonna have to see if I can get Nurse Kremps to give you some extra special attention. We all know that QLD have no hope, and the sooner you realise that, the better it'll be for everyone.

That looks awesome Jules, I particularly like that shade of blue on it. Also, notice the distinct lack of maroon on the model, a definite sign that you're a NSW fan at heart.
