I just thought i would make my 2000th post in a Kremps sponsored environment.

Estoy muy feliz! Soy scratchbuilt!

I hope Kremps doesn't make any cabbage casserole as a reward.....

Congratulations Tanky. A 100 out of a possible 400 is pretty good Big Smile [:D]. Kremps will be proud.

Got some work done on the Hs-129 last night. Really not much to the cockpit, but I'll post some pics when I get it all painted.

Sean - maybe a step by step thing, ya know... put on a back brace, grasp the kit firmly with both hands, lift with the knees, not the back thing... then a pic of you ravaging the cellophane with a K-Bar or maybe even one of those tribal ceremonial knoves would be cool to end it... Wink [;)]

Just remember Tanky, were laughing at you, not with you Big Smile [:D]

Sean, maybe you could post a Tutorial on the safe, yet effective, method of opening the kit box. I find biting through the shrink wrap is getting hard on my dentures Smile [:)]

Well, I have decided to purchase another airbrush for the squiggle camo on the 129, and will place my order next month.

Gonna get the Iwata HP-B with Teflon bearing and adjustable preset handle.
Should make the squiggle a piece of cakeBig Smile [:D]

Now all I have to do is open the box of the 129, which I will take a picture of and post to show how to open model boxes WITHOUT getting paper cuts.

Safety is no accident y'know!

And don't forget a picture of you drying your hands in a careful manner to avoid chapping!

You can't be too careful you know.Wink [;)]

Not a lot of modelling accomplished this weekend.

Spent most of Saturday either driving to IKEA, shopping in IKEA, or driving back from IKEA.

Don't worry it was modelling related, a load of shelving to go above my desk to allow me some actual workspace on said desk, and some space to display some models.

Obviously Sunday was spent putting up said shelves, both mine and my other half's.

I also picked up some wooden spice racks which are just the right size for storing jars of Gunze & Tamiya acrylic. I might even post some pictures if I get really sad.

As for modelling, no movement on the 406, however the Semovente is 60% complete, with all the superstructure built, and one run of the indy tracks assembled. Now just need to build the running gear.

I'll try and post some pics before Tanky doesWink [;)]

Daniel - thanks!!! I do see that I didn't quite get the two panel lines of the original cowl flaps xactly level. I am debating on stripping the paint and re-puttying them.

Agreed on the rivets... at least on the wings, the most visible of the rivets, they are recessed. The only problem is with this color for some reason it already looks like I have done a wash on it so they are a bit pronounced. I might actually do a revers wash in all but the control surface panel lines (lighter than the rivets and panel lines on the wing already are)

Sean - Laugh [(-D] it could be another GB... we could take a progress pic of EVERY step along the way in the interest of "showing newcomers to modeling how to do it" I think FSM might have to come in and shut Happy Acres down if that was the case though...

---edit---

I just got a mental flash of it... a picture of a kit still in the box with the shrink wrap on it.. the caption "Tonight I looked at the kit and decided I was too tired to start on it again" I'm afraid I would have a lot of those. Wink [;)]

That's great Tweety. Can you post a video clip of the move? Big Smile [:D]

I could, but to do that I'd have to move it back, and that would put me back to where I startedWink [;)]

Tom The martlet looks good so far. Looks like you did a good job of that cowl. The only thing I don't like about the Tamiya wildcat is the thousands of raised rivets all over it. Makes it an absolute bugger to sand without loosing the detail.

And, why don't you try an A-24 Banshee next. It's a pretty fringe build that won't take you too far out of your comfort zone......Big Smile [:D]

Rick - I think I am getting a rep here... I am beginning to be known as "The Martlet Man" kinda like the Marlboro man without the funky hat and beef jerky skin...

... I need to branch out I think... maybe doing that King Tiger in my closet will cure me????

(No... I don't think so!)

And doing another SBD won't help me either... what to do??? Wink [;)]

I am adamant the next kit I do is NOT going to be an SBD or a Martlet......

Jules - thanks! I see some obvious problems and this hasn't been my best build... but I am still happy enough with it to proudly display the "Black K" on the side!!! Wink [;)] I think I got overwhelmed I was building again consecutively, and went to fast in a few areas...

My next build is going to be to finish the Zero for the Midway build.. I need to strip the future off and shoot it on again, it has a grainy texture, I think I shot it too far away from the body... no biggie though!!! After the future is decals, then the undercarriage! I do believe after that it is my NMF for the Latin American build... I've been itching to get back into that one too...

Good luck Bob!

Tanky - this is starting to sound a lot like the "the batteries are charging" thing Jules pulled awhile back... Wink [;)]

Well got most of the paint on the Martlet, have to touch up the demarcation line where the gull grey and Midstone meet just forward of the rudder (the angle) there was a bit of spray under the tape so it didn't come out sharp enough.

In retrospect I should have done what Jules posted with the standard MArtlet camo 3/4 down the side with Middlestone. This is what my instructions called for so I tried it. I'll wait and see how it looks after the decals...

I don't think I'll be doing a panel line was as they already stand out quite a bit on their own... I'll probably stick to weathering a bit and be done with it. Anyway here she is!

gonna touch up where the wing meets the fuselage then probably gonna let her sit tonight and mess with her tomorrow...

I should be so lucky. Actually, just finished up the SBD-2 for the Midway GB and actually looked at the instructions for the F6-A! Hoping to play my "Father's Day" trump card this weekend and get started....maybeWink [;)]
