ok, finally got my camera back. here are some pics. All I have to do is the tracks and the air recognition flag. Scratches wer made with the salt technique and scratching wet paint with a tooth pic. Jerry cans are tamiya, and tarps are just tissue parper.

Dammm i missed that Tom next time "Kremps shows up with banjo can you get your camcorder out and film it for us[tup[

Rick i ended up getting all 60 of the Aircraft of the aces series no2 was Stukas over the Med and i have another one which covers Stukas from to condor legion up to the Battle of Britain, my only gripe with the series was the lack of info on the FW 190D's and defence of the reich Me 109's..........

nothing much to report... I got the wings on the Malta spit, most of the sanding done, I need just a TAD of putty then on to the getting ready to paint part...

---edit---

just a little tired and ragged feeling, thats why I have been scarce since yesterday... spent the day cooking for our 4th annual neighborhood Memorial Day block party held last night. The big surprise is when Kremps and her sister showed up drunk and did their rendition of John Phillip Sousa's "Semper Fidelis" on their banjos. It really kicked the party into high gear!

Seeing as you will be starting yours LONG before I get to mine, keep us posted on the build, kind of a heads up to any possible problems the kit might have if you get the chanceBig Smile [:D]

Will do Sean Big Smile [:D]

Yeah Rick page 14, black 3 with 4 guys sitting down playing scat in front of it,
My books no 16 of the aircraft of the aces series no 2 was a Stuka one, i guess they changed them around .........

That's really interesting. I wonder if Osprey numbered them differently in the USA ? I have almost all of the Aircraft of the Aces series & the Stuka is not covered. The Stuka is the #1 issue in the Combat Aircraft series.

Thanks Sean. I'll be doing the Hasegawa 1/48 Henschel Hs-129B-1 "North Africa" kit.

Jules, I think it's actually Osprey Book #2, #16 is a book on the Spitfire Smile [:)]. There is a B&W pic of this aircraft on page 14.

Tanky sounds like you have a blockage mate, pull her apart and give it a good clean out......Oh and BTW don't let Kremps hold you in her arms and rock you back and forth cause it's quite painfull, i think torturous is the word to best describe the experienceThumbs Up [tup]

Rick I didn't see the one in the A/c forums but i found a B/W pic of the front half of the A/C or one very similar in my Osprey book no16 Messerschmitt 109 aces of North Africa and the Mediterranean............

she can take you in her bearlike arms and rock you back and forth until you are dizzy and your head aches, and sing Soviet War hymns to you... (more realistic vision of Ricks words)

You ever have one of those days? You know when the ******* AB just won't cooperate?! And you can't figure out WTF is wrong with it? And then it spurts paint all over the ******* model, and then it won't spray at all!!!!!!!! I think it's probably because I'm using acrylics. They just don't work for me. **** acrylics. **** 'em all!!! I'm gonna go cool down now. I wish I had something I could brutally massacre to make me feel better.

Thanks Jules. There was one posted several days ago on the AC Forum, but I don't recall the member that did the build.

Hi all, I thought I'd just pop my head in and say g'day. I've spent the last four days at a management conference at a golf resort down on the coast so I have a lot of catch-up reading to do.

Rick as usual with all your work, your 109 looks great. I'm looking forward to seeing it with some decals.

Cheers
Darren

looks great Rick! Even though it is a common subject, it would fit my "fringe" build definition! can't wait to see it finished!

Got the 109 out of the paint shop. It's a Hasegawa 1/48 Bf-109E4 Trop representing a unique bird from 2 / JG27 from North Africa theater, circa 1941. The aircraft had obviously suffered damage & had a very unique & scruffy field repair camo applied. Thought I'd try something a little different Smile [:)].

Hope to get the decals on today & then on to weathering & final assembly.

Regards, Rick

Tom - actually i didnt preshade on this one. I did spray the center of the panels with a lighter shade of the color, and then I used a very light wash to accent the panel lines. After decaling i also brushed a bit of pastels down the panel lines to accent them a bit more.

Everyone - Thanks for all the wonderful comments guys!!!
